    You've got the quilting bug!!!! Lol. I've kind of noticed that when a quilter who starts in the stitching hobby like, cross stitch or embroidery, when the start doing quilts...they pick the patterns with little blocks...like this one and the trip around the world.

    Such an informative, thorough, and balanced kick-off video... I especially appreciate your invitation for new and/or experienced quilters to embrace what works best for them, while promoting process and time efficiency above all else. Quilting for the sake of quilting... or crafting in general, for that matter--isn't that what brought us all into this sphere? Hope all of the wedding festivities are progressing as you'd both like. Thank you for allowing crafting to remain high on your priority list... always inspiring to follow along. --from the Midwest, US.

    This was so interesting. I am not very good at picking out fabrics for my quilts. I tend to end up with very little contrast. I am going to try doing what you did - separating them into piles of darks, lights, and mediums. That is such a good way to get good contrast in your quilts. Thank you for walking us through each step f this quilt!

  • @marcellarodriguez7955
    @marcellarodriguez7955 Před 2 lety

    Thank you so much for the tips. I bought several rulers over the 15+ years of sewing and quilting and I always go back to using my one main cutting ruler. The June Tailor Shape cut 12”x12” slotted ruler is perfect and really the only one I use. It has markings for different sizes and shapes and if it’s something larger, I fold the fabric or move the ruler. I bought it at Joann’s with their coupon many years ago and it’s still on their shelves. I think it’s easy because you don’t have to worry if your cutting straight against a ruler and I made some wrong sizes when I just started

    Two quick points. The ergonomic cutter is great--if it fits your hand. My hand is small enough that I cannot fully release the handle. Please try before you buy if you are not sure. Second, please use the same brand of ruler for each project. A 1/4" may not be the same on all brands. I do agree on sizes. Until my stroke I taught Quilting for more than 30 years. Just my two cents. Thanks!

    • @elizabethanncanstitch

    I love that you are doing this. I’m going to try to get my stuff together to do it. I really, really love your moms quilt. It’s not my normal colors but somehow it makes me feel like one of my grandma Branson’s quilts. Thank you for doing this qal. Update: I looked into my fabric haul and found a line of fabric used in a FQS sew sampler box called Blueberry Park by Karen Lewis. I had purchased an extra bundle to make a bigger project but I have no idea what that would be 😂. So I’m going to use it. It has very bright colors I hope it will pretty.
