The Stripology ruler is a great tool for quilting. Cutting definitely goes faster. I don’t have the exact Stripology ruler, I have had a strip cutting ruler by June Taylor for many years. It works in the same way, it’s just not as heavy acrylic or quite as big , it is helpful though. Your quilt is so cute! Very bright and summery. I agree sewing randomly is hard.

I love my Stripology ruler too. I did the same thing, stared at it for about 10 minutes before I had the nerve to cut!😊

I love my Stripology ruler! I hang mine on a hook on my pegboard. You might be happy to know that the space from 20" to the edge is actually 1" so you can cut two 10-1/2" pieces. Lol I typed that too fast because you just discovered that in your video. 🙂🙃🙂 Recently I cut 2-1/2" strips, picked up Stripology ruler without moving strips, carefully rotated my cutting mat one turn, put S ruler back on strips, and cut 2-1/2" strips again. This got me a bunch of 2-1/2" squares!
Your quilt turned out very cute! Oh and I love Fat Quarter Shop's daily Flash Sale too! (maybe too much)

Love your fabric choices! I always love a scrappy low volume background. For me there always has to be a little planning even when doing “random” designing. I have a smaller version of the Stripology ruler - it kind of intimidates me too. I need to use it more and get comfortable with it. Such a cute, fun quilt, Liz!

Hi Liz, Watch the video that Gudrun puts out on the ruler. Accessible by scanning the code on the packaging. You can line up your strips using the lines on your mat to keep them straight and cut through several strips at a time without layering your strips. I use the stripology ruler for sub cuts all the time. We have a few members of our guild that are GE Designs groupies and they make all of her quilts with the ruler(s) including the subcuts. Thanks for the video.
