- Khaldoon Al Mubarak has described City’s 2020/21 season as “remarkable”.
In his annual interview with CityTV, our Chairman sat down with Editor-in-Chief Chris Bailey the morning after our defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League final.
And in the first instalment of three, he expressed his delight at a season that saw us win the Premier League title for the third time in four years, finishing 12 points ahead of our nearest rivals, as well as a fourth-successive Carabao Cup.
He also discusses our plans for this summer’s transfer window and reveals details about the positive talks he had with Pep Guardiola in November when the boss agreed a new two-year deal to stay at the Etihad.

Khaldoon is the pinnacle of ‘Growth Mindset’. No matter the setbacks, he focuses on the positives and problem solves the opportunities. Incredible business man and we should all be so thankful to have him leading this club and city football group. 👏🏼

Honestly it was a great season. Ya it sucks that we lost the final and we really could ha e won it, but the fact that we got to one is great! No team has ever won a UCL when it was their first time being in the final! One step at a time. We go again next season!

what a wonderful sobering interview from the chairman. no club has a given right to be top-dogs every season. It has taken a lot of hard work from everyone at the club. I feel very proud to be a city fan all my life. 65years and counting!!! CTID.
Many rival fans or just fans of other teams mock our club but look, as you can see we have owners who care about our success and our club. Many owners are not like this and many clubs are trying to get rid of their owners. We may get called an oil club however the job of owners is to invest into their clubs to help boost chances of success which is exactly what our owners are doing (3 Premier League titles in 4 years and much more). It's not our fault nor our problem that other owners don't invest into their clubs.
I'm looking for to next season. New signings we will just be even more stronger.
