  • In recent years, automakers have been adopting hybrid and electric powertrains for their cars. And even though they were initially expensive to make, they are now becoming more and more affordable. As such, Honda has also adopted the same, and they are currently in the process of making their cars hybrid. So far, they have done this with a couple of the cars in their lineups, such as the CR-V and the Accord. Now, the Honda Civic is joining the hybrid family, and this is for the 2025 model year. But what does Honda have in store for us? Let’s find out, shall we?
Hello, everyone, and welcome back to our channel. Today, we will look at the 2025 Honda Civic as we learn what Honda has up their sleeves for this one. But before we continue, make sure you leave a like and subscribe to our channel for more amazing updates on your favorite cars. And with that, let’s see what the 2025 Honda Civic brings to the table.
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid will be the next step in Honda’s plan to make its lineup all hybrid. The company has plans to electrify its lineup eventually, with plans to have an entirely electric lineup by 2040. And to get there, they have to start by increasing their hybrid offerings as they bridge this gap.
About a year ago, Honda launched a hybrid version of the Civic Hatchback in Europe. After this, there were speculations that the car would also make its way to the States to replace the discontinued Insight sedan. And for sure, this was Honda’s plan all along. However, even though it has been confirmed, we are not sure exactly how Honda will adjust the European car’s powertrain for the US market. The current Honda Civic Hybrid comes with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine and two electric motors. Combined, they give the car about 181 horsepower. For the US market, we can only hope that it has an output closest to the 204 horsepower offered by the closely related hybrid setup in the 2023 Accord Hybrid.
So far, there are rumors that the 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback Hybrid will be built in the US. It has also been said that the two-motor hybrid power unit will also be assembled stateside at the Honda Transmission Plant.
Roxanna Metz, the plant co-lead of the Indiana Auto Plant.
At the moment, there are no additional details shared regarding the powertrain for the American market. According to the European specs, the Civic hybrid uses a 2.0-liter direct injection, Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors. Combined, the car gets about 181 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque, which is more power and torque than the Civic’s 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and more torque than the Civic Si.
The introduction of a hybrid powertrain to the Civic lineup is all part of Honda’s plan to keep those younger buyers coming. Honda is also planning to open the order books for its all-electric Prologue SUV this year, which will be its first step toward the broader electrification of its lineup within the coming years.
There are a lot of details that are still missing, such as whether the interior will change in any way. So far, we only know of the powertrain, and we are not even sure how it will be. However, given that Honda is not changing much with this powertrain, we can be sure they will not change the interior as much. Looking at the current Honda Civic on the market right now, it has a streamlined interior design that sports clean lines.
If the 2025 Honda Civic hybrid coming to the American market is anything like the current Honda Civic, then it will have a lot to offer. However, given that the powertrain might change, the interior might also be slightly modified. Honda might also add more technology for the American market to make it stand out. After all, they do want it to stand out from its competitors.
The 2025 Honda Civic hybrid will have to bring its A-game to stand out from its competition. It will have to face off with cars like the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and the Honda Accord Hybrid, both of which have become favorites for those looking for hybrid sedans. However, if Honda makes it different and unique, then it will definitely win people over. And given that many people loved the Honda Civic before it was discontinued from the American market, the reintroduction of the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid might have a lot of people going for it.

CR-Z hybrid (CR-X update) has been around since 2011 and was the original civic CRX replacement. Came with an optional 6 speed manual and is an amazing peppy hybrid. Discontinued in 2016 due to limited marketing, most people have no clue. Amazing sporty little 2 seater.

I'm sure the US will get what we have in Europe. It's a great car, fun to drive and quicker than the official figures suggest as it manages 0 to 62 in 6.7 seconds. One of the magazines in the UK ran it for 6 months and the guy got between 40 and 80 miles per gallon.

If I consider any hybrid at all, the rumored return of the 2026 Honda Prelude design [concept] makes the Civic look like a piker.
Also in the rumor mill that the new Prelude will also offer a gasoline engine option,
.................. uh yeah we can only wet dream as it will immediately compete and win versus the Toyota GR86.

There is zero reason why any maker introducing any new or redesigned vehicle should not make all models of this line hybrid.

So Honda is going to be stupid as well going all electric by 2040! I guess they haven't learned from the other car manufacturers who have discontinued electric vehicles because no one wants them! They're a disaster! BAD MOVE HONDA!

Honda and fully electric 😂😂 Honda Finna lose all their customers and go bankrupt. The only reason Honda is still around is because of the super up car scene.

Honda downgraded from the last generation and now with the price range over 30+ grand people decided to go with Elantra or Corolla

i agree that the older honda civic did look slightly better, but saying people went with a corolla over this civic is EXTREME. The Corolla is so dated and behind on tech. atleast this civic actually comes with a digital gauge cluster and overall better interior.

    • @MLScHief
      @MLScHief Před 5 měsíci

@@cadenb4207 problem is the Corolla gets the older age bracket which gross 40% of their sales in product produce compare to the Civic although the Civic inside interior isn't nice especially the honeycomb vents they're trying to do. I don't know what Honda is trying to do but it doesn't seem like they care with higher prices now on their cars I don't think they'll last tbh
