They have to break the suction of the muddy bottom on that very heavy section of bridge. They do that by keeping massive tension on the cables.
amazing views as always!
Wonderful drone footage, audio, commentary and cool scenery - Tall ship. Thank you Captain Andy and Admiral Towner as well. Blessings. Sherry 🥰 🙏 🛥🚢
Our pleasure!
Thank you for your coverage. Your updates are greatly appreciated. Have a safe trip back home.
I just love going out on the boat with ya Capt!! Go speed racer gooooooo
Excellent transmission, congratulations to the entire work team who have made possible the recovery of the channel and its putting into operation..👍Unfortunately human lives were lost, but life must continue..🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Excellent camera work from the drone resolution amazing!!!
Thank you and GOOD Morning
Happy to be in the Minorcan Navy
Great views thank you so much.
The higher they raise the big boom, the stronger she gets. It looks like she is at peak strength. She is massively powerful.
Awesome video! Thank you so much for your time, money and energy! History in the making!
12:10 Ohio time. Been watching for over a month now. You sight is wonderful and informative. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for covering this because no one else I know of is. This is actually as important as the bridge cleanup and certainly as interesting. Try not to lose another drone though for us! LOL. Be well.
Was wondering about that bridge piece removal and Dali activities...thanks for showing all Capt. Andy !! ♥️
My question got answered by blowing it up on my TV the heavyweight is dropping is to break up the road underneath so they can cut the metal away
The drone work/views are outstanding. I wonder if there's a diver down doing some cutting?
Great footage thank you and have a great day, you are flying immpecobly!
Thanks 👍
Hi Captain Andy hello from Hudson NC sound great , great video. Thank you and all your crew !!
It looks to me like the near edge is coming up while the back end is going down. I think they talk in terms of the west end of it and the east end of it. I think the thing may rotate with the forward part going up with the back part going down.
Thank you so much, Andy, Sam, Towson, MD
Capt Andy, your videos and commentary are excellent !! I especially like the drone views. Thank you so much for covering this tragic incident. retired Baltimore firefighter, Tom .
Thanks!
Very clear footage
we are back here as allways what a great job you are doing capturing some us history every day
First of all what is "Minorcan"? Second, I have a better seat here in Florida than I would have if I were there in Baltimore watching in person. Thanks for the videos and all the information you tell us about. Third, I'd like to salute the Georgia National Guard of which I was a member from 64 to 1970. Loved living in Atlanta. (148th Aviation Battalion, Charlie Brown Airport.) Thanks for your great work Captain Andy.
The Minorcans came to this country as indentured servants and settled in New Symrna Florida.
You’re right about that piece being up a bit capt. Andy . They were tugging gently on it for hours yesterday.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Great job Andy! It will be very interesting to see just how they remove those massive blocks of solid concrete off of the bow. Looks like those two massive blocks pretty much flattened the entire forecastle and everything under it. Whenever Dali heads down to Norfolk it will be under tow with multiple tug escorts. No way is she seaworthy in her current condition, especially without functioning anchors, so the Coast Guard will never release her to navigate on her own.
Hi Captain Andy, you forgot to mention Hout Bay, Cape Town, South Africa 😜😘🥰❣️
You just did!
Ausgezeichnet!! Thank you Cap!!
❤good morning Captain Andy happy Friday
The bow certainly is up higher than a few days ago.
Thanks for another superb job covering this. Safe travels
Thanks, you too!
Good morning Andy
The Black Pearl is a Gaff Rigged Schooner with a square top sail on the foremast.
Did they use a man lift to put those chains on the truss? Thank you Captain Andy for all the up close footage you provide to us.
Good Morning n Captain
Would have thought that the delay on undamaged containers was meaningful
Capt Andy, that was the Pride Of Baltimore 2 that went by.
I missed out.
Lookin forward to the condensed!
👍🤠
Have a good rest of your day Captain Andy and crew
Yet another excellent and interesting video. Thank you Captain Andy. 1:25:21
Thanks again!
Vernon and Moira from SouthAfrica
Sorry I'm late Captain!!! Last day at work. OFFICIALLY RETIRED after 45 years.
Congratulations!!
thanks for daily update. enjoyed watching your vlog.
My pleasure 😊
Good morning one and all
Morning!
Something that may or may not be obvious and if this subject has been covered I appologize but as the piece is lifted from the water the actual weight increases due to the bouyancy of the piece when it is submerged as opposed to being clear of the water.
Thanks Captain Andy! Here Comes a question or 2. 1. When you Drop Anchors near the Dali, How Deep is the area? I thought I heard you say 25 FT. But I'm not sure. 2. What Kind of Admiral is he? Not trying to be Nosy, but just wondering. And Thanks for View of the Clean up at the Bridge, and also Thanks for Bonus of showing us the Loading and unloading of the Containers of the Small Carrier. That was a Plus, cause I've not seen this so close, Not even on TV or Media. I guess cause I've not tried. Can't wait to see your Evening edits and nice 4K shots. Have Fun In Georgia. Peace, Blessings! Terry
He is an Admiral in the Minorcan Navy. And the anchorage is about 25' deep
Definitely seen vessels loading/unloading..I work for MSC Cape Town. Have an amazing view of the port, and the [Table] Mountain on the opposite (City Bowl) side of Cape Town.
Very cool!
Aloha Captain Andy,,, I Hope You Make a Million Dollars Off Your Effort,,, Reporting This Tragedy,,,
Listen to that diesel scream!! Love it
Do the deck hands have a cover over them so they don't burn up on deck
Great stuff! Please keep the radio turned down. Can’t understand what they are saying. Use your good narrative to tell us what they are saying if important.
I owe I owe so off to work I go. 😊
What's all of the bubbling in the Water by the half a peace sign next to the barge in well sorry in front of the barge
It maybe fascinating but it's like watching paint dry! Breaking up roadway under water. Where there divers making cuts before the weight was used? Will be interesting to see what comes out.
It's a coat of many colors!
Pictures are sharp!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
smaller crane is using a weighted chain cutter
All you have to do is watch the holes in the front beans with the holes in it
That concrete bridge support leg that is laying there looking like it wants to slide off looks pretty precarious as they begin to remove all of that steel that is wrapped around it. I wonder if the Chessie is going to be necessary to lift that piece??
👍
Could it be that the roadway is hindering the lift, being tangled up with the steel at muddy bottom ?
Love how you are able to get some great shots . Keep it up . Can you add some floats to the drone to keep her afloat if she falls in the water again?
Do you know if they are actively changing the ballast loading as they lift?
They may wait until the concrete pier is removed before unloading to keep it stable for the cranes
Thanks Cap'n Andy! ahem where is your Admiral's life jacket, eh?
By standing BOSSES
Do you know if they're using some sort of imaging to guide their sheer and wrecking balls when they drop or are they just best guessing
It looks like there are divers down under. Maybe cutting.
Looks like that huge piece might have to be cut.
If the deli is at the Port why aren't they unloading the containers
Not a DESK JOB.
Bridge peace is up don't know how much higher they can get it to go??
Are they going to pick that whole span in one move?
Schooner, a sloop would be Marconi rigged single mast
How long would it take for the trusses to rust? We cannot hear it. Busting the concrete span underneath the water?
Years.
Make that decades, no doubt it’s treated with anti corrosion, and it’s only maybe starting to oxidise.
Nope, looking forward to seeing it.
As I understand it, there is no standard for air draft like there is on US interstate highways of 14 feet or so. But a recent trip to Duluth indicates that 135 feet of air draft is common .
🗝️ Key Bridge 🔑
Hi Andy, Are those bubbles from the divers doing Xothem cutting.
What is the TFR.
I magnifying your picture
CAREFUL ANDY!! River FULL of debris from JONES FALLS and UP PATAPSCO STATE PARK
River rock is holding a leg.
Is it a bit choppy today
Its a ketch or a yaull
be careful big backlash bad thing
Tell us about the Mullet. Make, length, power…
No draft marketing
The blue tents are where the men go to rest, swap tales and tell fishing lies.
Drone is $
Are there divers in the water ? I can't tell what I'm looking at.
Do the crane barges have a water ballast system?
Yes barges are ballasted
i am confused. is this live? it seems it is pre recorded
4 k I believe
It wanted to return to controller, not back to you.
The more I watch the more questions i have ..you heard of anybody using that liquified CO2 for breaking stuff like they do in mining
My be concrete
Is that a magnet
No
Hope taxpayers are not paying for Dali deck cleanup
Who else would pay for this? There hasn't been any settlements or payout yet, and that could take years. People say hope it's not taxpayers, don't understand that this bridge replacement would be a tiny fraction compared to the useless spending. It's estimated cost is 1.7 billion, so lets say 2.5 billion in reality. Biden spent 320 billion on a sinking pier in Gaza. And how many billions to pay off students contractual debt? The US sends aid money everywhere. This is US infrastructure used by US citizens. It's the Constitutionally correct use of tax dollars. When we see any return from litigation or insurance payoffs, that money will also be squandered.
You need a net to catch your drone
