That Mack's a huge step forward for Diesel Creek for not a lot of money. Congrats.
Wot are new rigs going for these. Days.....
@@user-ht1xu4gv2u a newer mack is like 140k
@@user-ht1xu4gv2u a new rig set up like that one is well into the 6 figure number ,,good friend of mine just bought a new peterbilt 389 and it was over 250,000
It looks too good for Matt! Should be good for taking stuff to the steam weekend. By heck it is long! Most prime movers (US = tractors) we see here in Australia have a shorter wheelbase.
@@p38arover22the length allows for the dolly wheel to run on low weight limit roads
Awesome purchase! Glad Scrappy talked you into it. Thanks for taking us along
Full grown Big Dog. That's a forever truck. Congrats Son.
Awesome truck 🚚
Keep your trees. Trees are good. You don't need a Walmart parking lot to have a functional shop.
Plant some douglas firs & fruit trees !
@@samjubilee6593 Dah! Douglas firs aren't native over there. How about some eastern white pine.
@@rustediron4062 Moreover, lots of eastern white pine forests got totally nuked during the 18th and 19th centuries because they made such good mainmasts--where I live in Ottawa, the white pine forests used to dominate--huge old growth dinosaur forests like Cathedral Grove in BC, mostly made of eastern white pine. Brilliant trees that grow tall and strong, stabilize the soil AND grow well here, as this is their native environment. Virtually no old growth white pine in Eastern Ontario left, which is a pity. Don't know about the northeast US, but I imagine it's much the same.
@@HANKTHEDANKEST Sort of tangential, but your mentioning cathedral Grove brought to mind "Muir and the master builder" by dick gaughan. Good song. I don't think Muir himself had anything to do with cathedral Grove but it's the sort of thing he would've been involved with.
Totally agree. Also he wants to build a house and live there. Which I think is much more enjoyable with some forest around you
When my unit made it to Iraq (2003) we ended up in some fabrication shop/warehouse as an operations base. The big score though was there were gas powered welders all over and a giant Lincoln like the one in the auction. So we used it as a generator and it powered our tent lights, water cooler, laptop, and whatever else we got our hands on. That was one perk of being a mechanic in a field artillery unit. Nobody questions where you got all the amenities, especially when we built a shower and we could clean off after missions.
Thank you for your service
Did you ever find the WMDs?
@@ml.2770 that was not in my job description, but thanks for asking.
Thank you Sir for protecting our freedom. It means more than I could ever articulate. You are a true hero.
Niceone😎
You think Sam had some ulterior motive for pushing Matt into that tractor? "Sorry can't make it today, Matt; but you can come get the lowboy."
Scrappy had a plan
@@shabadoo24 And that plan likely involves Dirt Perfect. I'd bet good money on that
Matt has two lowboys
@@bigstick6332 50 ton?
@@cyrilhudak4568I don’t have a 50t …..but Sam does!
For a second hand truck, that's in really good condition. For a 25 year old second hand truck, that's in amazing condition. If the parts we can't see have been as well looked after as the parts we can see, that's an absolute steal for the money. Matt, it is eyecatching, because it's so clean for it's age!
The Mack is OUTSTANDING. That's the only thing involved. Incredible.
It never ceases to amaze me that you can buy a great truck for the same price you'd pay for a high mileage, beat up minivan. What an awesome purchase!
That row of Penske trucks single handedly just proved flat earthers wrong.😂
Nah. It’s just a hill.
@@davidelliott5843 Y'all flat earthers dun' have a sense of humor.
@davidelliott5843 If the earth is flat why are there hills? It isn't flat then.
Why hasn't anyone found the edge or fallen off ???
Just asking for a friend. ! 🤣🤣
They have all the "answers"
Sam I drove a standard twin screw Mac for a lot of miles and that is definitely a standard dash control panel set up.
Matt you absolutely got a sweet steal on the tractor I put close to 700,000 miles in the last one I drove I actually got choked up when they got rid of it watching you pull in to the farm brought back a lot of memories I’m retired now so that was nice.
I babied that truck the guy who drove it on my days off got a sub truck one night and refused to drive he told them could eat off the floor of my truck and there’s no way in hell he’s driving a trashed out tractor.
Man that is so cool seeing your truck thanks for that.
Treat your gear right, and it'll treat you right
The Mack is AMAZING. That's all there's to it. Amazing.
Love that buy! You stole it!!
Give it a little maintenance, break out the steam genie, and polish the aluminum. Slap some Diesel Creek logos on it and you are set. I know it isn't a classic like the Autocar, and like you said, is pretty common, but that is good for a tow rig. Easy to get parts and should be reliable.
Yeah great price and I love those trucks. If I was set up I'd pay that and not blink at all
It's a great buy Matt. I Only wished that we had sales like that in Australia.
I would love to see him put an Autocar body on the mack truck so he has the best of both worlds the cool antique body with the modern suspension
I like how Matt has the keys for all of the equipment 😂
They don't key equipment like cars, so a couple of brand keys will let you run a lot of equipment. As most places don't change the key when they buy them.
@@BlueDually4x4 Aliexpress and Temu sell keyrings of construction equipment keys.
I wonder if they actually work and hold up or if they will break off and ruin the ignition switch.
You can get a keyring with Cat, Deere, Bobcat Komatsu and other brand keys on it for $12.
@@BlueDually4x4I mean why would you would you want all of your drivers being able to drive all of your equipment? Seems like a hassle to rekey something that can't go faster than about 20 miles an hour. It's not like somebody's going to be running from the cops in killdozer.
You've got such a knack for turning every adventure into a story worth telling! Your ability to navigate through surprises with humor and resilience is truly remarkable.
And im am floating village life.
Ritchie Brothers lookout!!!! Matt's Auction house is up and coming!! LOL The Mack is definitely a good buy for what you do with a truck. It's got a lot over the Autocar, such as more comfort, air conditioning, and parts availablity. Plus a good scrubbing and some polish, she'd be one fine looking rig.

I am sincerly happy for you matt i come from cape breton nova scotia and macks here are very old frame jacking and such ....i moved houses my whole life with my grandfather and with some tlc that truck will work for many years to come shes a keeper good for you man!!!!
Always a great trip to the Ritchie Bros yard with Matt and Sam
The Mack is a real beauty she’ll do just fine for your needs plus I love the auction videos you see some great stuff there ❤❤❤
Fire truck can't be in service needs certification😅n for insitse
Always love seeing the auctions. Wish I lived near one. So many good deals if you are looking for the right toys.
The firetruck was from Minnesota, I live close to those towns.
Sitting here enjoying another great Diesel Creek video from my toilet in Spring Lake Park Minnesota, you can imagine my amazement when the old SBM Fire ladder truck popped up! I probably even sold a replacement part or 2 for it over the last 17 years working for the largest emergency vehicle up fitter here in MN. This one really hits home, thanks Matt!!
TMI!
One of the best free things that someone can do to support a CZcamsr in the CZcams algorithm click-through rate (CTR) is by clicking and playing the video, all the way through, the very first time you see any of their video thumbnails. Don't save it for later, play it through right away, and if you don't have time to actually watch it right then and there, save it to the watch it later playlist, and then go back and watch it again.
You on the payroll, it's up to them to keep it interesting, I'm not going to sit and watch some b.s. just to help some random CZcamsr. I think we all have a pretty good idea of how the system works.
All that Mack needs is a Dirt Perfect double stack, square tube exhaust system and you will be styling. Bet you can get him to run up and look it over with just one mention of it. Too much fun.
That fire truck is from Minnesota! Spring Lake Park, Mounds view, and Blaine are NW of the twin cities!
From the begining days when you worked at home out of your garage to where you are now. Look how far you have come. Awesome.
Yeah, I agree. I found his channel starting with the “beater with a heater” Jeep Cherokee series and was pretty much hooked.
@@pauldiesel4582 yep I remember those videos
Now that you have the mack, you can take more time on the autocar and not feel rushed and do it right
Spring Lake Park, Blaine and Mounds View are third-ring suburbs of Minneapolis. Chances are good I’ve seen that ladder truck in action.
I lived in that area for over 10 years… so yeah. That’s SO COOL. Now I have a degree of Kevin Bacon Firetruck with Matt!! 😂
The fire truck is from Minnesota. Blaine would be the most Notable city of the 3.
Fun fact, I can see the northern border of Blaine from my kitchen window.
I cannot fathom why they had a 110 foot tall ladder, nothing around here is half that height..
Around a 100ft aerial is more or less a standard of the industry. If you have a 50 ft lawn then a 100 ft truck will struggle to angle up and hit the peak of the roof on a typical house.
Congratulations on the new truck, something that's well-deserved. She is heavy, hual ready, and hopefully serves you well for many years to come.
YOU KILLED ME WITH THE sEINFELD REFERENCE WHILE ON THE FIRETRUCK.wasn't expecting that at all.
Firetruck is from Minnesota, down around the Twin Cities.
Finally Matt can haul his own scrap. Don't need to ask for his buddies to make time for him
Best part of Matt's auction buys. The follow up getting road ready.
I've driven plenty of those Macks over the years, an awesome rig that just keeps on giving.
29:44 I used to love seeing those rear steer fire trucks driving around in my younger days. There were 2 or 3 i believe in Buffalo, and i lived a few blocks away from one of the ladder truck stations(L12) so i used to see it often. That station later got one of the shorter non-rear-steer ladder trucks so they weren't as interesting. They closed that station and the guy who owns it now has a construction company so he can back his trucks & trailers right into his 'house'. Such a cool building i always wanted to own it myself for that same reason, but not in my budget unfortunately.
Tiller - gray speaker in front of the steering wheel is two-way comm between drivers. 1,2,3 is for light/buzzer signal between drivers, usually foot switch operated. Headsets are common today but squawk boxes were common as well. Also should have squawk box between ladder operator and whoever is at ladder tip.
Auction video for the win every time .
Yeah good or bad matt gots. OAD.........

7:54 That ASV tracked buggy has got @AndrewCamrada written all over it!😅👍🏻👌🏻
That fire truck is from the north metro of the Twin Cities here in the state of Minnesota! My hometown!
Congrats on the purchase of the "Dawg" I drove truck for 42 years and probably 30 out of those 42 years was driving Macks my grand father was a diehard Mack man he taught me to drive on a B model looking forward to seeing more videos on this truck thumbs up!!
The very best purchase I've seen anyone make on youtube. You are going places young man. In the most harmless and satisfying way. I wish you all the best.
Thank you!
I drove the same model 99 Mack as dump truck with a 4 axle pup for about 10 years. It sure was a trip down memory lane looking at the interior and the drive looking at the bulldog's butt on the hood. Switched to a Mack Granite cab for the last four years before I retired, but that truck was still going strong.
Whenever I see a Penske truck all I can think of is the 11'8" + 8" bridge channel on CZcams.
Oops! Careful! Your Penske is gonna get stuck!
😂😂😂😂
Is that the one which did the accordion can opener thing on the lid? I loved the idiot in the nice camper which scraped off BOTH of his A/C units on that bridge.
there's nothing like a good 11'8"+8" Penske Peel video to start your day
The bridge needs to eat
Sunday evening greetings from Tokyo everyone, loving these Richie’s Brothers auction videos. Congratulations Matt on picking up that “sweet “ Mack (with Scrappy’s recommendation). Looking forward to the complete servicing video. Cheers!
The videos look great in Taipei too!
I drove a Mack trucks for an asphalt company for 6 years. You can't kill those things they are a work tuck. I pulled the lowboy for them and never had any problems out of the Mack. I think you got a great deal on it.
The fire truck is from my home town of Blaine, Minnesota. I remember seeing that truck around a few years back.
Matt, those dock forklifts were set up for loading trucks, on a concrete dock, in addition there was no less than 400 forklifts at just MY assigned dock, they were pretty well kept and maintained
When he bought them I figured they would be a tough sale with them having the short mast .
@@wjamesm1001 I knew mechanically they were sound, I also know how badly we abused them, We had a shop that could work on 6 at a time that ONLY rebuilt forklifts, including engines and hydraulics, that shop once accused us "as being able to bend a cannon ball" what ? "you assholes managed to bend a counterweight! how the hell do you bend a counterweight" For as hard as they got used, I never really remember one that didn't work well, they got taken to the shop, fixed and was back really quickly. they were serviced and PMed constantly, at least they were when they were Roadway Express property, now Yellow, that was different
You stole that MACK, you lucky stiff! Nice snag, happy for you young man. Enjoyed the auction tour, thanks for the video.
The one go two stop three backup is a backup system to communicate. Uses a horn or buzzer. Used to be on almost every fire truck. Even straight trucks would have a button on the side of the back so your backer could communicate with the driver.
That's a nice toy hauler for bubby. Keep the great videos coming, thanks for sharing with us
Matt thats funny because we called our Komatsu "Barney" too. The dealer said Japan likes happy colors for their equipment so the operator feels joy....
Purple is a " Calming" color they say...
Kids go to the candy store, Matt and Clint (C&C Equipment) go to auctions. Getting all giddy and those big wide eyes because of all the new toys... 😂😁🤘
the ASV crawler with matching trailer is super cute )) Those EA7 Mack engines were pretty darn good, once they got a few years into them. Early on they had some cam issues. That cleared up with updates and they will pull a B-double quite well, the Bosch unit pump fuel injection are very good. But if you ever take a unit pump out, you MUST replace the cap head bolts with proper high grade cap head bolts or they will snap off while running. Do not reuse them, or plan to replace them the next day. Brilliant fuel economy, I was getting 1.75 km/liter pulling 64 tons.
Outstanding and awesome as always.Thsnks for sharing and taking us along
"You never know what you can't live without" Famous last words.
Auction videos are always fun to watch and see how close you get to the hammer price. Price is Right for gearheads!
Holy cow you are right! I must be a gearhead (confession time: I'm a subscriber to diesel creek, so maybe that was a no-brainer) #gearheadpriceisright
Those old case skid steers like the 1845 look to be popular here also. There's not a tremendous amount of equipment avaliable but people love their 1845s
I think you two like going to the auction yard to play with big boy toys lol That was a good buy!
I think you did exceptionally well! Thank Sam for talking you into it! Eddie
Remember an old TV cop show where the detective is interviewing a woman in the hospital bed. "Who hit you?". "Mack". "Mack who?" "Mack truck".

It get’s no better than to wake to a video of yours Matt and then to go with you to an auction 👍👍.
Looks like a pretty nice truck you bought and still amazed how cheap it went. She’s a beauty. I retired out of Honeywell previously Garrett Airesearch part of Signal Companies who at a point owned Mack so I’m pretty familiar. We ( Garret Airesearch) actually dropped a Gas turbine engine in 2 trucks and they tested great but proved not feasible for the open market. Was very cool and proved the ruggedness of the Mack chassis. Good on ya - enjoy your new purchase and thanks again for taking us along on your adventures. It’s fun educational and enjoyable. Stay well and keep the vids coming👍👍
Wow this truck was a steal. I love listening to Macks run. Good job Matt.
Needs a big diesel creek logo in the mack bumper. Living in UK I never see many vehicles like you see so its an eye opener to see different shapes sizes and sorts of vehicles you have over there and i love it. I dont think I could even fit that mack down my street where I live haha. Very cool.
For anyone considering participating in auctions, this video is a must-watch. Always be prepared for the unexpected and have a backup plan. Thanks for the valuable insights! 💪
Absolutely, the unexpected can always happen. I really liked how this video showed the reality of the auction process, not just the highlights.
The other thing is always have a hard set top price. I constantly see people getting pulled into auctions and buying stuff for more than retail value because they get caught up in the bidding.
Would like to see the full complete service you give the new Mac. Oil change , fuel filters , tans . Everything !
That is a solid fire truck, and it’s a seagrave. Very solid truck, 110 ft aerial. You should buy that truck, and when looking at fire trucks. Look at the hours, not the mileage. Usually those rigs have low miles with lots of hours. It doesn’t have a pump on it though. One of the drawbacks to that particular rig.
Well that's pretty nice and you already know who to talk to who owns a green Mack , I'm sure Mike can answer anything you need to know. The auctions are very cool, keep em coming.
Fire Truck is from Minnesota. Spring Lake Park, Blaine and Mounds View must share fire equipment. I pump inflammable waste traps for them. I didn't realize Blaine was included in that consortium. I thought it was Fridley instead of Blaine, but yeah. Those cities are northern suburbs of Minneapolis. My shop is in Fridley MN, super close to Spring Lake Park border.
I had the exact same sae 400. Actually a slightly older model. When I sold it had over 10k hours. Ran perfect. 4cyl diesel. I gouged with it all the time. No problems. Pipeline guys are scared of gouging because everyone turns the machine all the way up. That’s not necessary at all. But yeah and machine will Gouge.
THANK YOU, I was wondering WTF was up with that stupid sticker...

You could MIG weld with 3/8" rebar with something like that.
based on the cab information tag E7-460 this is a 6 cilinder multi injection engine with 454 hp and an enormous amount of torque. Together with the three rear axels this can haul anything you may ever want to purchase and transport. The frame even has enough room to put a sleeper on. It likes to live between 1300 and 1800 rpm. i bet if you dull it up and put a sleeper on you can triple your money.
This Mack is a great addition to your yard. It will help you alot for moving the heavy machines. Good job Matt!!

Where are all the Two Men and a Truck moving company bidders and box truck “Stealth” camping millennials that need these?
The Mack is a perfect addition for what you do. The Autocar will be sweet too but if it's a longer trip the amenities of the Mack will be nice to have.
Autocar is a work horse but a bit lacking in creature comfort.
Definitely NOT an over the road truck for long distance.
I love your enthusiasm for unique machines.

Matt at the auction calls here kitty kitty a dozer fallows him home😂
I'm sure Sam knows what he's talking about, but I personally wouldn't replace the tires on the push drop axle with duals, especially if it's a steer push. All that will do is make you wear out tires quicker, it won't really increase the amount you can legally carry.
Congratulations Matt, Great deal on the Mack! She sounds and looks great. Thank you for posting 😀
