Seeing someone do this is honestly amazing.
The tracing you were doing was a technique called "Rotoscoping" which definitely has a very real and grounded effect. It's been a technique in animation for hundreds of years at this point I think. It's a nice style, but going in free hand definitely has its own unique charm to it that I personally prefer. Would love to see more stuff like this though!
