Learning ANIMATION in 30 Days

- For the entire month of March, I decided to dedicate every day to learning animation without any art experience. I ended up learning a lot, both animation and life wise, so I thought I'd share it with you.

I can't believe I not only finished this challenge, but also finished this video LOL. It's pretty tough spending 4-10 hours a day improving my animation skills, but in the end it was worth it. I really pushed myself to the limit with this one, and while I don't exactly recommend being as extreme as me, I think it's something worth trying.

I tried to document the whole experience, including small guide/tutorial bits, monologues about self improvement/personal growth, along with the actual animation process. If you're on the fence and want to learn animation, give it a shot! - Krátké a kreslené filmy
As an animator that went into content creation that wants to get back into animating, this really hit home, Garbo. I'm super proud of you for taking this jump and I hope you continue to go outside of your comfort zone. How long did it take for you to make the final boss animation in comparison to that other one that took like 15 hours?
it took ~13 hours
actually
kinda awesome
Garbo, if you’re still out there, please upload again. It’s been a whole year and you’re one of my favorite CZcamsrs.

Hi Garbo. I was feeling i could cry any moment for days now..but there wasn't a single drop of tear. Untill this video. I don't want to bore you by elobarating further on it but know this, you are a really inspiring person. Thank you so much. I wish you the best & hope you've already realized by now that you are soooo much more than Tetris.
The progression from day 1 to day 30 was honestly pretty impressive!
Garbo, from the past month that you have been animating and doing your monthly learning of animation on a daily basis, I salute you.
You went through with it like a soldier, and some of the intermission messages were really touching and something I feel I can resonate with in a lot of scenarios (Imagine getting emotional at a video) and Like I mentioned in the tweet when you made that Twitlonger, That even though I enjoyed watching you play Tetris. I also enjoy art myself because I'm more of someone who has a thing for visuals and world building which by doing this you could actually, if you garner a team of people could potentially make a game along side another graphics designer alongside many other things.
I didn't want to stretch my tweets to being lengthy but I wanted to mention that I was contemplating on leaving Tetris a few months before you considered and just stick to Puyo as I personally felt unwelcome by a few people of the community as a whole. I know it's just a few people and shouldn't really impact on the fact that if I enjoy it that I should continue what I do to the best of my extent however, I feel that my stacking and decision making was way worse than I had imagined in some cases to the point of no redemption.
But overall, this video is actually really well formulated in design and flow. Keep being the amazing person you are Garbo, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Thank you for this video, your progress was quite impressive.
It's actually a funny coincidence; just two days ago I decided to start learning pixel art and animation so that I can start making a game that I've been thinking about for the past couple of years. I have been spending way too much time playing Tetris, and this video is a good reminder that if I put my mind to it, I can learn whatever I need to.
Proud of you, glad that you were able to move out of tetris and integrate new content easily
yooo this is cool, funny how fast ppl improve when they become conscious of their learning cycle.
also can't help but notice you sorta have a subtly different vibe, feels like someone cool to chill with now.
This is amazing content. I have never watched you before, but seeing someone with little art experience do something as amazing as this has inspired me!
garbo, love to see this new character arc. keep us posted! what you animated is some impressive stuff!
(4:41 is still kekw tho)
congrats. Im glad for you. Branching out sounded like a great move for you. Hope it pans out well.

it was fun learning (albeit just a bit) with you
Thanks garbo! This was truly a great video. Really detailed well done, and your progress was incredible to see! Even more, this video was really inspiring, and helped me too. Happy for you man.

I've aways wanted to learn animating, so today I decided to start learning about it. I think I found the perfect motivation with this video. Thank you
very inspiring to try more things and stick through the challenges rather than give up when it gets too hard!
