Simple carb clean and drain some old fuel out! If this video helped you please consider helping the channel by visiting my Amazon Wish List! www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls...
This was very helpful. Im 14 and starting to work on mowers and i bought this mower that needed a new carburator. The guy i bought this from gave me a carb to put on it and it still would not run. I found this video, took the plastic piece out and cleaned it and not it works great!
I have owned mine since 2017. I do all the yearly maintenance. I have taken the carb off my neighbors mower, he bought it the same time I bought mine. He put in old gas from a dirty gas can. Btw he returned the first tb110 saying it would not run. Finally he bought a new gas can. My only complaint is when properly tipping the deck over to clean the under deck or replace the blade, the spark plug gets flooded. Takes about 15 minutes to restart. So I do most cleaning after mowing.
I agree we love & hate those carbs. They are not bad once you have done a few and know the tricks. That guide pin confused me on the first one I did. I thought a vacuum line had come loose. Good documentation of all the steps with excellent camera work.
I notice that a lot of people have not been able safely to remove the jets . If you look at the top part between the white jet and the black part of the carb you Will see a tiny gap . Use a small (small) screw driver and pry downward and white jet will pop out . Also when you have the white jet , Where will be 3 small holes on each sides , All hole you should be able to see through to the other side , Carb spay and clean out and reassemble. P.S. clean you gas talk Hope this helps .. Peace
Excellent carb. Jet circuits pop right out to clean, and if you are reasonably good with tools, you don't even need to take it off the engine most of the time. And, NO CORROSION EVER.
The crank case casting is very thin on these engines . If you ever have to pull the engine do not drop it , it will break like glass also very lite half the weight of a classic block . Cheap Cheap cheap . I would take a classic over this any day .. I have also done this thousands of time as well . Good video .
Like your channel. U said "daughters' future's mother's in law" LoL/ yeah fixed mine i got lucky Just with brea tie wire at inlet of carb but had to chech-clean overview eveeything then installed back
Thanks for putting this up. You did a good job. But I guarantee she'll be having the same problem within weeks or maybe the next season. This is the most unreliable lawnmower I've ever brought.
Neighbor has this same mower in pickup with junk for trash man. I grabbed it. I have some car mechanics Witt but I am not mechanic. To be fair I learn fast and seeing this mower only really seemingly like it hardly saw one season I grabbed it. It is dark out and I was a bit hesitant to grab it as I am embarrassed and rather tell them which I will when I see them ...haha. I know once it's put to trash or road many pick up stuff. I don't usually but at 51 next month and not working for 3 Years due to health and all I need another healthy hobby. I was gifted a running 3.5 Briggs and Stratton mower on weedeater deck. Looks 90s. Has a carbon blade yellow my daughter's father in law gave us or me to use to cut their grass. It is amazing as the thing blows hard and I use it to blow off the debris after cutting. So week later which is today, knowing he got that one running I should give it a go. Haha or give it to him to see if he can fix it. If not give to him for parts. Idk. I'd like to get it running. Haven't checked it out yet it's dark and Chilli out. I did sort of try to pull the string and see its not seized and I don't think it is as I hear something Maybe scraping I hope it's just needing a new blade. Haha. Or I'll tear it apart and follow you and anyone else guide on the tube. Thanks and man. Look at me now world. I am grabbing mowers off curbs taken out to to be discarded !!!! ALMOST feel like a Xmas gift. It's nice looking mower. Whats wrong with me?? Hahaj
Well, if you enjoy screws, gaskets, and stuff that possibly are not readily available... And don't forget good ol' corrosion. Time is money; in manufacturing, cost of materials, and repair costs
Did you squirt any fuel into the carburetor to see if it’ll pop? Those Briggs EX plastic carburetors always have clogged jets. As far as the hesitation is it jerking the cord out of your hand(sheared key) or are you just feeling the compression stroke?
@@KensSmallEngineRepair y eah you are right after thinking about it I retook it all apart and actually rewatching a few videos including yours one guy blew into the fuel inlet line while holding the float upwards and he was able to blow through them he sat it down and wasn’t able to blow air through so I went back outside and got everything seated my mower runs good now I ordered a new grass bag for it and a extra carb just in case but your video made things easy thanks for sharing
If you know a little bit about these carbs - then this is the best carb clean video this year. Thanks Ken
Thanks Claus!
quarter inch drive socket set is the perfect for this job.

I subbed to your channel. Put out some videos!
Great video! I have not found any hidden issues with these carburetors yet and I have been able to clean them and they run.👍👍
Sometimes hunting requires a jet to be drilled out but this was just old fuel and water. Thanks for watching!
Easy to clean easy to get back running again good video Ken
Thanks for watching!

Nice tutorial video Ken, I actually like these carbs, besides clogged jets I've seen no real issues with them since they came out.
Me too, hunting is a pain but always able to fix.
Thanks Ken have a happy Easter.
I’ll say Happy Fall? Now? Anyway thanks for watching!
Damn and I just ordered a new car bill mess around with the old carb just for fun clean it up and reassemble it so I’ll have two fresh carbs

Excellent carb. Jet circuits pop right out to clean, and if you are reasonably good with tools, you don't even need to take it off the engine most of the time.
And, NO CORROSION EVER.
Just watch carb cleaner on the needle tip. If it swells it will drop the float and fuel level and she will stall after a minute!

Great video as always Ken. Very helpful information.

Awesome video. Very well explained and made to look easy for us home mechanics. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not a big fan of these engines but when the run they seem to run well.

Ya, they come in quite often, and ALWAYS use oil! Thanks for watching!

The white jet holder you pulled out separates further so you can clean the emulsion tube holes.
Agreed, this one flowed well so I didn’t take it apart further
Nice job Ken 👍
Thanks for watching Artie!

If you keep oil in them the EX engines are actually quite nice
Excellent thanks
Thanks for watching
Good job ken 👏 👍 we all love a plastic carburetor not why did briggs do that such a pain 😢

What are the maintenance intervals for this machine? Thanks
Check the oil every time you use it. Change it at the end of the season. Check valve clearance cold before first mow of the season
Would have been nice to see everything you did.
Good work. Great fix. Well done. Your 10 minutes are like mine, about 20 minutes long. I will be doing a video that is also about "10 minutes". ;)
Some viewers like longer i like to get to the point!
Does it matter if the small silver cap is missing that's inside the carburetor?
The Venturi plug?
@@KensSmallEngineRepair the welch plug

Easy enough to work on but my success rate is about 50 / 50 🤷
