    I have a few Isuzu Troopers with the Aisin AR5 which is i think the same as the RPO MA5. I have two 91 LS400 with the 1UZFE. Will your R series bellhousing be a good fit for this swap? Do you also do engine mounts or know a source to put a 1UZFE into a 98-03 trooper? Thanks.

    Hey Kelvin great vid as always! Ive just got myself a Gen 1, 1uzfe which I want to fit to my UK spec 88 hilux pickup, I'm guessing you'd recommend a R151 gearbox to run with it? Also do you ship all of your products internationally please? Ive a feeling I'll be buying most of what you sell bud if you do!? Keep up the great work! Cheers Bobby

    Great vid! I'm curious to know what flywheel and clutch you use. I don't like the adaptor plates either and the are kind of expensive too. I once made a custom bellhousing by cutting the front off one and welding it to the back of another...it worked fine.

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  Před 5 lety

      I have my own supply of flywheels and clutches. All use a Chrome moly flywheel designed for conversions with integrated ring gear. The heavy duty cover uses is a organic plate and motorsport uses a chrome moly cover and button plate. I think they cost a bit more than many out there but Ive been using them for 14 years now and sold hundreds of them. Id like to improve my international freight as I have well tested stuff now. I'm watching guys in the USA doing stuff now that we did 10-12 years ago. Cheers

    Hi Kelvin and as always thank you for the informative video. One quick question, can I just swap out my G series box for an R150 and the G series (LN105 truck) transfer box will bolt up to it ok? Driveshafts, shifter etc remain ok? Sorry I normally try to find my own answers but I just can’t find much on this topic.

      I rarely use the W55 as they are too prone to breaking. I just sold a W series box. The green hilux ute has a W57 or W58 but thats coming out soon to get a R150. I did some footage of that job but it's sitting in my maybe file. Using the W series box however is very similar to doing a R 4x4. We use a bellhousing like in this video and the clutch / fly setup is the same.

    Please do a video of your clutch and flywheel setups next for the W and R series boxes. I'm really on the fence on how I want to adapt my UZ to the w58. I know you said your keen to the R series, but prices for the R boxes in the states has skyrocketed last couple years with everyone and their grandmas swapping JZ's into their cars and needing the stronger trans. People are asking $1200+ for broken R series now even. Plus I have an abundance of W58's. When your not busy and you get a chance Kelvin. Do you mind sending me a quote on your w58 bellhousing/clutch setup shipped to zip code 58301. If you wanna just shoot me a message on facebook that would be ideal. Thanks mate. Kelly

Sorting overseas freight atm with the guy that owns the 47 ford. Its funny as a W57/58 is worth nearly as much as the R150 Rwd box over here atm. Man are the heaps of crap clutch setups in the USA. Are late model r150f transmissions better than early ones? Or preferred in any way?

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  Před 5 lety

      Better is a subjective term. I like the late R150f(and R151F) however the stock transfer goes to the Left instead of the early ones which go to the right. I do like the late boxes as they are newer however lots have still done heaps of km's. There were a few issues in the later ones so I think the early ones were slightly stronger however plenty of the old ones are now completely stuffed. I have a video I shot the other day on a early R151F(its in the editing phase atm) If we really want to put some power through them we fit up the Marlin crawler kit with upgraded thrust washer , centre bearing retainer and 3-4 shift fork. The 2009 hilux with the LS1 delivered 350RWhp and 320all wheel hp to the ground through a later R series box.
