I always got the wolf, apart from at the end when I turned my life around thanks to about six hours of throwing fish back into lakes
lad that is one way of getting your honour back
OpsCreeDGames didn’t even know you could get the deer before this video
How many innocent people did you fuckers run over and kill?! Lmao
@@TheSquirter lol I didnt even know you could get wolf dreams
Yep wolf is low honor and stag/buck is high honor
The deer = Arthur
The forest = The gang
It shows the deer in the forest , the closer Arthur to die, the closer the deer is finding his way out from the forest..When Arthur dies, the deer is shown in the field which means he is finally out of the forest and now finally free..Just like how Arthur is finally free out of the gang in peace...RIP Arthur
Or you could say the forest was keeping him safe and when he left the forest he died :0
Amazing analysis !!
?????
WOW YES! But it’s deer ;)
@@sadieadler3065 it's a buck actually
These dreams are some of the most powerful moments I've ever felt from a game
I got goosebumps every time, especially when he saw the deer in Saint Denis...
The deer and the music Makes me wanna be the best man I can be, how fitting.
Agreed!
Its like he was a deer in a past life
From any medium really
After his diagnosis I started using two white Schofield Revolvers with deer engravings
That's actually pretty cool. I just started using the legendary guns i got off dead hazbeens. :P
I prefer the cattleman revolvers. Just feels good being even more cowboy.
Johann I used to black ones with white grips and a puma engraving
I used silver Double-Actions with black engravings.
I used dual M1988 gold and white with deer engravings
Hate the people who call the Low Honor spirit animal a wolf. It’s not a wolf it’s a damn Coyote. It’s too small to be a wolf and its fur is too thin. Wolf’s in many cultures is a symbol of Loyalty and Bravery. Coyote’s are often bastards since they often play with their food before they kill.
Also its ears are way to pointy
@@naicid6029 ikr
It's an easy mistake to make I think you may be over reacting a bit
I see coyotes as loners
Ooooooooooooh so it's a coyote
I actually had to stop playing for a few days after Arthur died. Haven't felt that way about a character before
I just beat it for the first time and not a single game has made me cry even my all-time favorite game the last of us but when I saw him lay alone on the sunset passing I couldn't help it and when it said epilogue part 1 I didn't play for 4 days I can relate I'm happy to have experienced this it's just not a game it's a movie you play yourself
@@danielportillo56 i cried a lot for Arthur death , but then i was angry because my mum said "it's Just a videogame"
I'm you right now, it's been 2 days since I finished it and I didn't even touch a game at all yesterday, I guess we were subconsciously mourning Arthur lol
just got to his death today. playing as john has been nice but i feel empty. hell i even went back to a really early save file to see healthy arthur again.
@@SVdreamin Lol I did the same thing, I miss him.
You guys might not have seen it, but during the game and in various locations of the map there is a blind man asking for money. After you give him some, he will tell you a "vision" or presage, and near the very end of the game (at annesburg), he told me that my end was near and sooner than I thought, but heaven awaited me. That really touched me.
Sorry for long text
Yes I got that message from him aswell! His appearance is just so mythical in a way.
damn he told me that you should never take another man's horse. I guess it could be a symbol for not stabbing someone in the back
And he said you've been following the wrong star (Dutch)
The blind man told me to watch out for the man with no nose which is obviously a reference to Micah being a snake
Makes me think he is god in disguise
That music with the deer transitions is epic.
So True 💚🖒
Sends shivers down my spine every time
What is the name of music??
@@mahdiaskari2989 Bit late but here you go:

Its feels a lot like rdr1
Notice how the deer finally looks at the player when Arthur dies?
I like to imagine it’s the deer being proud of the decisions we have made and is accepting Arthur to go into heaven
I almost cried when Arthur and John's horses got shot and he whispers "thank you" to the horse. That horse was Buell...Buell did me right. I suppose it was right for him and Arthur to go together. It'll be good for him to go fishing with Hamish again.
Oh my god me too god bless that horse
The veteran was my favourite character and I almost cried when he died
Ali Wahab I died with buell too! I kept the starting horse till the end. I called him “NO ANIME” I hoped I could ride him again as John.
My horse was BUUUUUUEEELLL too.
@@silentskull739 HE WAS THE GOODEST BOAH
These scenes really hit me hard. That symbolism is so beautiful
Love how John's theme plays during the deer scene, as if comforting the player and Arthur that someone is gonna rise to make things right
This game was so beautiful. I cried when Arthur died.
Lol you have no idea how hard I cried
Me to
AHHH U SPOILER FUCKER
@@gabris8870 shut up, the game has been out for a year now. Obviously, people are gonna talk about how it ended.
I did aswell so much ;(
You get deer dreams if you played as a good guy. You get wolf dreams if you played as a bad guy.
are u sure? i though that the wolf was fake and come from a different game (saw the video someone uploaded)but that is pretty cool.
@@OCGaming1 its real i saw the wolf one many times
@@flyingeagle2883 shame on you 😡
@Theradbrad check this out bro.
Finally got the eagle dreams it's not the easiest to get
**SPOILER**
The deer is a reference for psalm 42:
As the deer longs for streams of water,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, the living God.
When can I enter and see the face of God?
Also in Arthur's grave you can read Blessed those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. So through this psalm, Arthur seeking for redemption and the epitaph, the deer visions makes sense.
The psalm has nothing to do with righteousness. It's just about sucking up to God, so I really doubt it's a reference to that. Arthur cares about morality.
Even if the psalm doesn't have anything to do with the deer in rdr2. It's still really cool to compare the two things together
@@Wveth well, in that time I guess sucking up to God and morality were intrinsically the same, but I said that because of the strong religious context of the game. It's a well known saying the thing about the deer. Morality and righteousness is the way to go for God (?
@Alex Erami I don't watch Rick & Morty personally. I just never got into it. But yes, you're very cute. Anyway, my post isn't even anti-religious or anti-Christian; even in the context of the Bible, the verse literally does not mention morality. If you want to ignore that and randomly throw insults while pretending to know me, you go right ahead. I guess it's because you don't have an actual response, or you're feeling insecure. I'm sorry.
@@wikipediaboyful For a lot of people it was, yes, but I think there's a reason that the verses actually quoted by the games directly mention peace and righteousness, rather than God. Plus, with no equivalent to the low-honor coyote cutscenes, it makes me think it wasn't intentional.
If anything, I want to die like Arthur. Facing east, rising sun, knowing I did all I could, knowing that even if I was a bad man in life, I wasn't so bad in death, and that I did good by some.
You did good BOAH
I went back for the money and died rolling on the floor coughing with three stab wounds from micah clutching a Bag of gold #heroic lmfao
Simply one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen not just for a video game
I’m playing as John now, but every time I see a deer I remember Arthur and I think it’s him
I can't kill bucks anymore
@@Electivedrop i’m proud to say that i’ve never killed a buck as john before
Same c:
Arthur is the eagle that spawns in his grave
That eagle is also invincible so.... That's Arthur
Not a buck
If you have low honor he is a coyote... Also unkilable
Fun fact: you can hear what Arthur talking when near a buck
Why does this make me so emotional? The symbolism and the music is so beautiful. It makes me feel like I have to change for the better and do good while I still can.
I have the same thought.
I cried when Arthur’s horse was killed at the end and he said “ thank you”
That music with the deer I want a 10 hour mix of that music
Just seeing Arthur’s sick face for a second makes me feel such a deep, sorrowful feeling. This game is so beautiful, yet so incredibly depressing. The tones of the ending of the west, and industrialization taking over. A gang formed with good intentions, turn awful and vicious like the rest of them and collapse. And the tale of a man, who realizes that he can do the good thing. It is such an emotional experience this game, I feel that everyone’s death, especially Arthur’s, was like a dear friend that passed in real life.
Couldn't have said it better myself. This game did not disappoint, it was everything I wanted and more.
I have a shrine in my garden devoted to Arthur Morgan.
Frau Holle fo bucks come down to it
Frau Holle I want to see a picture of that. You gotta post that on the Red Dead Redemption subreddit and send a link or something.
Redemption in every sense of the word can be seen in these scenes... I was sobbing every time I saw the deer scenes... extremely emotional and deep... hats off to Rockstar...
Seeing that stag in Saint Denis made me really feel something that no other media has ever done. I normally laugh when people call video games art but RDR2's story is a masterpiece. I haven't touched the game in nearly a week after entering ch 6.
Nearly 4 years later and these moments still stick in my mind. They’re some of the most powerful creations in storytelling I have ever seen, so simple, yet so capturing. I, like many others I am sure, would’ve just sat there, motionless and immersed in the 10 seconds or so unable to think of anything else. They didn’t need to include them to immerse you even further in the story, but they did, and they most definitely do.
Regardless of the game being so good to play, the story is an absolute masterpiece and I can’t find a single fault. Genius.
And the soundtrack to each of them… perfect isn’t a word that should be used in art because then there is no way it can be topped… but it is absolutely perfect.
I don't know why this resonated with me so much.
when i got diagnosed with tuberculosis and saw that dear i got mega chills, also the rif when we see the dear is so touching and cool sounding.
It felt like the game was based in a true story for some reason. The ending made me cry
Red Dead Redemption 2 makes me both cry and smile. Perfect story, perfect game, even in 30 to 50 years, when games are going to be much more advanced, i will still have Red Dead Redemption 2 as one of my favorites.
I firmly believe Red Dead Redemption 2 is the greatest game ever made. The only games that I believe have a chance of topping it are Starfield and GTA 6, but we'll see.
Literally made me tear up again. That's the most connected i've ever been to a game or movie even. Its an ethereal feeling of peace. Spiritual even. Cracks me up the people that are like "its just western gta". No, it's really not. It has no right connecting with everyone like it does haha. Truly an amazing masterpiece.
There won't be another game like this, there's no way someone could top this storytelling.
personally days gone is topping the storyline.
@@OCGaming1 Hard disagree, and this is coming from someone who 100% the storymode of that game.
It has a great story, Deacon is a very interesting character on his own right, but overall I feel like the story took a nose dive and became too chaotic at the final chapters...The reveal about one character in specific detracted from further developing the story and instead it made it turn into the opposite direction.
@@pedinhuh16 just play NieR replicant & automata, trust me
I was playing the whole time without audio and these scenes were so dramatic to me. The slow mo scene where Arthur was riding back to camp after Milton told him that Micah was the rat, That especially got me since I know the games coming to an end now.
Saying again, I was playing with no background music. The silence while voices where speaking was so dramatic and heartfelt. While riding to camp, I was wondering if there's music. I turned it on, and god damn the music just made me cry.
They wont read this but I wanna say to Rockstar games, You guys know how to make a story and put it on a game. I know its just a game, but the story is part of my life now. Some of the things im happy im living with.
even without music the game still makes you cry this games story is a masterpiece
why would you turn off the music, or worse, all the audio
Most people think that the black “wolf” is a wolf but it’s actually a black California valley coyote
Yeah, also Arthur is from California too, so kinda cool detail
If someone finds out the name of the beat or tune that plays during the deer scenes. ( not the ending song I alr know that one it’s called unshaken)
It's a stripped down reference to the classic red dead theme, which they later expand to later in the game czcams.com/video/vpQ_1EoJNWs/video.html
Alex Matchneer thanks man!
“sorry... i was miles away”
Seeing that deer was one of the best feelings I’ve ever felt from a game.
Daha önce bir sembolle bu kadar derin etkiler veren herhangi bir başka şey görmemiştim. En sonda geyiğin attığı bakış.. Anlamlandırılamaz bir huzur..
Vay be Türkçe yorum göreceğim aklıma gelmezdi. Oyunu bitireli 4-5 ay oldu ama hâlâ etkisinden çıkamıyorum. İlk oynayışımdı ve ne mutlu bana Arthur'a maksimum yüksek onurla veda ettim. Geyik rüyalarını her gördüğümde tüylerim diken diken oluyordu.
RDR2 makes you feel things you didn’t think you could for a game.
For some unknown reason that deer Arthur was dreaming about reminded me of Bambi (as an adult).
BAMBINATOR
Its unsettling how photorealistic these cutscenes are
God I love this game so much. The way I feel when watching these is kinda indescribable
The song makes it even more beautiful
I remember always saving the game and thinking, damn i‘m only at 70%, i got almost a third to go, and then I started the last mission with Arthur, not knowing what would happen. I swear when they started riding to the camp i knew something was going very wrong... but Arthur dying hit different. I quit the game for a week after that
My eyes hurt... I can't cry no more... oh my Arthur... may you rest in peace...
I was spoiled on Arthur dying when I first played. So when I first kept seeing the deer I knew what it meant. But when I saw the deer run through the town, I will never forget how I felt in that moment.
Definitely the best and most powerful dreams I’ve ever seen in a game these dreams truly touched my soul
R.I.P Arthur
R.I.P Tennessee Walker
R.I.P Hans Klaus
R.I.P Hans Klaus II
R.I.P Carolus Rex
When I saw the first deer/buck dream, I knew my time as Arthur was coming :(
I made sure I don’t kill innocent people in RDR2 because it is very Dishonorable, I make sure I Gain good Honor so I don’t get the wolf, The last scene I saw the deer it made me cry because I made it with high Honor
me too bud, Arthur Morgan is my favorite character.
I just lost my papa and he was the best man I know
I miss his laugh and smile everyday he and my grandma been together for 70 years
Blessed are those who thirst and hunger for righteousness
During his sequence wandering the street after his diagnosis, I couldn't help staring up at the church spire across the street. It makes the memories and implications so much more heavy
The narration/journal/dream scenes in this game are really inspired by the visual style of the movie The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. They even made a clear homage to the movie in the second train heist mission
I always got the coyate but when Arthur was starting to die i slowly built up my honor and got the deer it made me so happy.
Red Dead Redemption II!!! It's one of my favourite games I ever played on the Sony PlayStation 4. The open world setting, a fictional region in North America has made so good. The nature, animals, plants en humans. They are detailed to the bone! The graphics are outstanding beautiful! And the gameplay is very good! Arthur Morgan is the best protagonist the developing people of Rockstar ever made. Red Dead Redemption II is a videogame I have played in the first four months of 2019. This game has become a part of my young adult life. Almost everyday I played it. Well I alternated with some other games I have played that period. I let Arthur Morgan play as a character with good honour. Never killed innocent people, always been nice to others, helped and given money to strangers and explored the whole map of RDR II. When Mister Morgan died, we saw the great elk on the television screen (for good honour). The Red Dead Redemption II game is a gem to play!!! A very long length of gameplay, an outstanding story and a beautiful map. People, if you have a Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and/or a (very) powerful gaming pc, just buy this game! You will never regret it!!
I went from having the black coyote nearly the entire game, to making amends and doing right for all of chapter six, absovling debts, never killing innocents, helping the natives etc, and for my final dream sequence I finally got the buck, it was absolutely beautiful. Best moment ever in gaming for me
I recently completed my first play through, and it went almost exactly the same as yours. I was a menace the first few chapters, and once I got to Guarma, I started cleaning up my act and I began getting the deer visions. I’m so happy that I completed Arthur’s story high honor, this was one of the most beautiful stories I’ve had the privilege of experiencing.
In Christian mythology a buck symbolizes redemption. "In many cultures, the deer is a symbol of spiritual authority. During a deer's life the antlers fall off and grow again and the animal is also a symbol of regeneration. In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men."
I can't see this video without start crying
I’m playing through for the third time now, already I’m coming across new people and elements of the story I wasn’t aware of.
I’m just enjoying my time with Arthur as much as possible, making the right choices and actually doing a lot of fishing. Also, for some reason, I’m travelling to Colter a lot, just camping and exploring.
I’ve got two Volcanics as my primary and secondary, both in silver with black steel elements, and deer engravings on both.
I never thought I’d be so emotionally invested in something like this, no regrets.
That’s like.. a soft version of Johns theme song
I get the shivers every time a deer dream shows up. Something about it hits me real hard
Deer is the most beautiful animal in RDR2🥺🥺🥺
When I first played this I just blew through the story thinking it was very much like gta where you just crank out the story and then do all the side stuff later and no one would care. But after playing a second time and really investing in all the side stuff and caring for Arthur, when he got TB and walked out and I saw the buck it was very emotional because Ik from then on I hade to help everyone and be a better man
The deer dream Arthur has after he finds out he has TB is the best. I legit started crying.
I still honestly cant believe God of War got Game of the Year over this… nothing short of a masterpiece.
This game is beyond everything
I don’t know why but when I see these dreams with a dear I think of it as Arthur when he dies😭😭😭
Every time this came on, it gave me chills
This game is super emotional
I’ll never get tired of saying this is the best game ever released
0:43 Did you notice John Marston's theme plays in the background? Foreshadowing in this game is amazing. It's the best open world game ever made, while its story is like an Hollywood movie.
Those deer scenes give me chills every time
Arthur’s death was the saddest thing In the world
2:32 "You have it in you, i can tell" He's right about that
0:47
always give me goosebumps!!
It's incredibly beautiful..
When Arthur died it felt like I lost a friend
"He was good and he did good"
Wise, and thoughtful, and sensible
God this is beautiful
im happy that i got the deer on my first time i love the dream sequences but it was funny to see a gamer (Itsreal) constantly getting the wolf and the wolf kept telling him he will never get mangoes that Dutch promised him even when Arthur got teburkey.
3:23 shit this dream it really hits
Arthur is my favorite character and I relate to this guy.
poor Arthur...
First game I was obsessed with keeping my honour high.
Second game not too much, but then I saw the other dream then I noped myself outa that situation.
I need the link of that soundtrack NOW
damn those deer dreams are mesmerizing. i almost fall in a trance watching them
I don’t understand why I always get these kind of dreams while completing missions at chapter 6
I was getting wolf into chapter 6 and once I realized what it meant I kinda woke up and since a bit after the start of chapter 6 I have been getting deer
This song came with a bit touches of guitar while wanderimg around the world .. i searched the whole internet just to find it but i couldnt it
May i stand unshaken
Amid, amidst a crashing world 😭😭😭
These coyote/deer dreams cause is the first is that TB went to active disease and the second dream means the TB progressed
3:17 Arthur’s confusion on seeing the elk really says a lot about him. Sister was right, he really doesn’t know the kind of man he is. Thankfully, it never really mattered
The best way to play is having the Coyote at first then having the Deer towards the end.
I knew that.. But I couldn't help wanting to help everyone needing help, never robbed anything if it wasn't for a mission. I know I didn't play the game "right" but I couldn't bring myself to.
Deer scenes are just Graphics or live action? it seems real to me. Rockstar are Awesome this scene is beautiful
The buck lives, defends himself when he needs to and does no harm unto those who mean It no harm. The coyote preys on the weak, the sick and the injured.
Just, this is not only a game, something more.
May I, stand un shaken.....
The dreams are the best parts of the game 😍
If you notice on all of the scenes of the buck you can hear American venom/john marstons theme. 0:40
The ones with the buck are heroic while the wolf ones are more evil. Shows the high honer and low honer. Crazy detail

That part on Saint Denis...
