- I have studied camp cook Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2 and discovered an incredibly detailed daily routine. This is how he spends his day from waking up early in the morning to cooking the famous camp stew and finally retiring in the evening. Which detail impressed you the most?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a 2018 action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. The game is the third entry in the Red Dead series and is a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption. The story is set in 1899 in a fictionalized representation of the Western, Midwestern, and Southern United States and follows outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang. Arthur must deal with the decline of the Wild West whilst attempting to survive against government forces, rival gangs, and other adversaries. The story also follows fellow gang member John Marston, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption.

Letting everyone else eat first after working hard all day. Pearson is an underrated character for sure.
100% agree! Pearson is a gem.
He is underrated become he ain't charismatic
#workinghard drank half the camps booze I donated
The best part is at the bottom
Arthur too,i mean depends on who plays him ,when i play i always bring food items to camp and donates
I feel bad for Pearson. He's belittled and unappreciated by almost everyone in the gang, but at the end of the story he still looks back at his old photograph and smiles. He loves being here and he loves everyone.
Yep, I've noticed that too. I felt bad for him
He ends up owning the store in Rhodes and finds a wife, so he made out ok.
Yeah. Im glad that, for all his ribbing, at least Arthur tells him he's appreciated.
naur i’m sad now 💔
He always is excited to tell others about his navy days at the camp but none of them are interested
The fact that every npc actually has a realistic routine sets this game lightyears ahead of anything out there right now
And it’s been 5 yrs since it came out. If gta 6 is “5 years better” then this, that’d be amazing, but we can only be so lucky.

Abigail not getting credit by the camp for assisting in meal prep is so real.
She’s been helping him cook for years but still can’t cook herself for shit.
Mrs. Grimshaw has the audacity to try and get her to whore herself out again and causes an argument
No doubt. And We had to do a special side mission to season it on top of that.
Pearson: spends whole day making a nice stew
Authur: eats it it 3 spoonfuls and throws his plate away
🤣🤣 bcos Arthur is too busy killing everyone
And then Arthur proceeds to make his own stew.
Arthur gets the meat!
and Arthur risks his life everyday hunting and fighting to keep them safe while Pearson makes stew all day like every thing is safe
@@kibromkiros1873 we all have our own duties, without Pearson the gang would miss him because I doubt anyone else would want to cook for everyone.

If I was an outlaw then I too would probably have been delegated as a camp cook. Pearson was one of the few to get out of the gang life and manage to live a peaceful life. Never disrespect the one feeding you.
I wanted to join up as the reserves or national guard as a cook for soldiers. But then my cousin said you'd be just the bitch. And 18 y o me, being naive. I let that get to me. So i didnt want to join up anymore if i was just considered the "bitch pog"

@@ownlydown5933hey veteran here. Your cousin gave you good advice. Cook is among one of the worst jobs in the military. And the army in particular hates cooks for some reason. Every branch has a hated MOS. In the marines it’s MP, in the Air Force it’s finance. In the army, it’s cooks.
Never bite the hand that feeds you
Pearson can't cook for shit though. He spent like 4 hours on prep and cooked for 2:45. Then we had to do a special side mission just to get decent seasoning for it. Dude is a lackey in the kitchen who begged us to get more meat when there was a ton of game just outside of camp.
I know that the meat he cuts depends on the type of meat you donate, if you donate a bunch of lower quality meats he will spit out the stew, but if you donate higher quality meats he won't. This game has so much detail it's amazing

One detail that I've missed after 5 playthroughs is that gang called him out for not washing hands when he is cooking. But if you go to chapter 3 or 4 where gangs move the camp near to the river and swamp, or you do the chore where you have to carry a bucket of water to the pantry, you can see that Piers do actually wash his hands.
Pearson is fun to watch. I’ve seen him sneeze on the food he was cutting and then look around to see if anyone noticed. Once I watch him taste the stew, spit it out because it tasted terrible, shrug and keep on cooking. Also this is the first time I notice he takes the meat out of a salt barrel (I think), and brushes off the salt before cutting it. The details in this game are so good.
It is truly a masterpiece. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who obsesses over all the small details in this game!
What havent seen that
I've had the game the day it came out and never knew this, I assumed it was just done by the time I came to camp at night
“ The last stew I had was pretty damn good “
Heck, I thought he was brushing dirt & dust off of the meat. All it takes is a bit of a breeze to kick up clouds of dust, ya' know.
Glad to see everyone enjoyed the stew from the raccoon and turkey I accidentally purposely trampled with my horse
You forgot it got flunged into a mud pile
And then caught on fire (accidentally)
And got drowned
You just tenderized and seasoned the meat to make it a lil’ easier on Pearson ;)
You make it extra tender and pre cooked by hunting with explosives
One of my favorite camp characters. Always working hard, never complaining and reliable. I wish the game gave us more details about his back story and allow for more social situations with the character.

I love how kind this man is actually, he pretends to be rather slow or rough but considering how much he likes to stand back and observe nature while enjoying a drink just shows me how much he enjoys his life. Even if he isn’t treated the best by those around him, he is happy
He probably knows all of the antagonism is done in jest, well besides Micah’s antagonism.
If it wasn't clear enough that he cares deeply about the gang, even when he starts a new life, the credit montage shows that he keeps a photo of them near his desk at his store.

Yeah...no.
Ingredients:
1 lb game meat (such as venison, rabbit, or boar), cubed
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef or game broth
1 cup water
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh thyme, rosemary, and oregano (optional)
Vegetable oil for cooking
Instructions:
Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add a bit of vegetable oil to the pot.
Add the cubed game meat to the pot and brown on all sides. Remove the meat from the pot and set it aside.
In the same pot, add the chopped onion, carrots, and potatoes. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Return the browned meat to the pot and pour in the beef or game broth and water. The liquid should cover the ingredients, but you can adjust the amount of liquid based on your preference.
Add the bay leaf and a pinch of salt and pepper. You can also add fresh thyme, rosemary, and oregano for additional flavor.
Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the meat is tender and the flavors have melded.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
Remove the bay leaf before serving.
Ha, Dutch oven
In reality that recipe sucks balls. one person by themselves will eat 2 carrots and there are how many people in camp? It's no wonder we had to do a special side mission just to get extra seasoning for it.
I haven't cooked in a cauldron before but I have used a camp Dutch oven a number of times. In my experience most recipes are going to be cooked at about 350 and preferably lower and slower so the potatoes are actually cooked all the way and the meat isn't chewy. Seeing Pearson go through that process was great, but it took him 4 hours to prep and cooked it way too quickly. hahaha!

I liked crawdad hunting with him
People complaining about Pearson’s food leaves a sad feeling in me
Finally coming around to see this and I'm impressed. I would say for simplicity's sake the meat he cuts looks like a shoulder joint, probably deer since that's easily found around all camp locations, and it looks like it's stored in salt. Carrots and potatoes are obvious too. As for other ingredients, we can assume some sort of alcohol is added, likely Beer, Chicken is an option if the player gets the upgrade, it looks like there's also tomato in there given the red color, possibly some onions and beans as well as other vegetables (I think I saw onions in the wagon during Sadie's shopping trip and we do see cans of veggies around the wagon). If we fulfill Grimshaw's request for herbs there may be some seasoning in there, and possibly some mushrooms since they're relatively easy to find. We can assume that the reasons the stew tastes so bad at first boils down to a lack of ingredients after the nightmare in the mountains paired with Victorian Era cooking practices (dem bowls in the dirt doe). Once I move where I can either hunt myself or get to know a hunter, I may try to recreate this recipe.
Thanks to this videos i see these kind of details the first time.

That part about letting everyone eat first was nice.
Felt sorry for him, especially when everyone so easily criticises his food.
Pearson even jeeringly agrees with their comments, poor guy.
I mean it took him 5 hours to start cooking since he woke up and another 7 hours to make a stew that takes roughly 2 hours to make (approx 1hr to prep and 1hr to cook) so i mean, is he really a hard worker? Also, he took 2 pisses, like 4 smoke breaks, 2 beers and never washed his hands.
@@Super_Death I feel like all the Pearson simps in the comments seem to not be noticing this for some reason 😂 Dude wakes up and spends 3 hours doing jack shit and then prepares the food extremely slowly, all while taking breaks, drinking, and smoking. I'm not saying I wouldn't appreciate the work he does, but it's not like he does ridiculously more than anybody else. He's just the only one in camp that prepares food for people - the same as other people go out and make money, or they clean, or they do chores.

Spot-on regarding EA especially! (Actually if this was a 'Sims' game- cooking stew with the help of someone else would be a whole new DLC for $20! )TRUE story!
I remember in Assassin's Creed III, I used to sit by and watch the tavern keeper, as a lot of his chores were surprisingly detailed.
My favorite was catching him in the act of butchering a pig. He'd remove the entrails, clean the carcass and segment the limbs.
Ubisoft is kinda going EA with assasins Creed I noticed I'm playing the newest one Valhalla and besides trying to force you to make an account with them this game and the last 4 are trying to encourage you to buy in-game transactions to have an easier time
Bethesda: ok let's do Skyrim the 10th release
And this time we will add in groundbreaking mew features
Like Stew!
The attention to details in this game is mesmerising ❤
This is so cool. Must've taken forever. Thanks for the content :)
It is so insane the amounts of details. Do you know that if you go to rhodes store as John after tge story Pearson now owns the shop and everytime you go there they talk about old times 😍
You can also Rob him. . . Whichll be funny
@@ubilambda nope it's Rhodes trust me :)
@@ubilambda its Rhodes
@@ubilambda It’s Rhodes.
Ach der Schwurbler Aktien ohne Kopf hat sich auch hierher verirrt.
Which character du you want me to investigate next? Let me know in a comment below.
Dutch. This fella talks the most and does the least. Expose his nature.
Charles
Jack Marston !
Tilley
Micah
i appreciate the trouble you went through to match the fonts and text overlays from the game
I’m happy you noticed!
He peed and then make stew without washing his hands 😂. 3:04
It adds flavor you don't know how to cook he's a master chief
I like how he has a magical salt barrel to rejuvenate his deer leg
Oh hell nah he doesn't wash his hands from toilet breaks I ain't never eating food from Pearson again
Ads flavour
Piss do have a taste though depending on what the person drank
dont worry it doesnt harm you because its cooked, it just tastes more intensive
Edit: It adds some salt into the stew.
Lol

this game is so detailed that my man made a channel out of it. Props to Rockstar to make such a detailed game and my man to find out such details. Thank you so much..
The detail of this is amazing the devs didnt need to add thks but they did and when Pearson removes the meat from the salt barrels is a good detail aswell as the stew bubbling there is so much detail and time added into one part of the game most people dont take notice of.
This was the best cooking tutorial i have ever seen
Ngl I actually tried Pearson recipie
@@discardedroses no no just normal meat
@@BigBlockChoc1 normal human meat
@@moondewan Only 11% dog meat this time!
Your content never ceases to impress. Your hard work and dedication are well demonstrated in the high-quality videos you make. Your channel will grow tremendously one day, mark my words.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We'll see!
If you think this is high quality, wait till you see his superior quality videos!
God dayum, the realism of the carrot cutting at 6:54 is sooo satisfying and cool! ❤
The amount of details they added in this game bro it's unbelievable! Even tho there's stuff we can't do in the game but when some people glitched into maps they had details aswell like imagine a game adding details in places that you aren't able to go into
If I was Mr. Pearson and had ONE bowl of stew that I had to prepare each day, then I would not get up that early.
It's the late 1800s, there's nothing to do if you're not working. You can contemplate nature, chat, party or read. That's it. As soon as it gets dark, people just go to sleep.
Cyberpunk: we have "advance" npc ai with their own schedule
Pearson: hold my cauldron
Cyberpunk my god what a lie that game was wait still is
Wonderfull video, and yet I almost always misses the timing to eat at the camp!
