  • With such a massive price disparity between the cheapest and most expensive motherboards around, I’m often asked just how much difference spending a lot more on a motherboard can make for a gaming PC build. So in this video I’ll be answering just that, by comparing one of the cheapest and most expensive AM5 motherboards and walking you through how to pick the perfect motherboard in 2023.

1 flaw I saw in your testing, your cases were different sizes. You had more fans and a water cooler in the ATX case and in the mATX case you had a Air Cooler and less fans! I’m not beating you up for this, as the numbers are close enough to be within the margin of error. However they could make some people seeing the extra frames on the ATX build with a few extra frames think its worth the move expensive MB. I appreciate your videos and reviews.

As in, maybe the extra degrees on a smaller mb is gonna matter more than a bigger one with better heat dispersion. So testing them at the same temp is a good control. Otherwise I’m with you I don’t think it is going to make that much of a difference

MSI A520 is less than 70. its DDR4 but I am running 3600mhz RAM on it and it can support up to 4800MHZ and up to 5000 series Ryzen. Meaning you can put Ryzen 5 5800x3d...
Creators need to push for the new platform AM5 because they need to have the content out there already as manufacturers continue to make more products, they will be more eligible for sponors since they are making the content. but AM4 has about 5-6 years of Life left because of how fast some of the components are already.. so go ahead and buy DDR4 platform. I recently built a PC for $240. everything is new and its all DDR4. I do not have a GPU but the Ryzen 4000 series APU I am using is enough to watch 4K video and play genshin. its still fast by todays standards and I can do everything lightning fast. I might not be able to play starfield but like I said. components will only get cheaper as time goes and right now is the best time to build on am4.
