My grandma of 96 can tell you of all the stuff she went through when she was in China. She dealt with a civil war, invasion, drought, famine, alleged nuclear contamination, hyper inflation etc. She can tell you (her memory is not as good now) about how the government and people around her stole, seized, confiscated, raided, looted from her. If it can happen then, these things can happen now and beyond. The best advice will always be to keep silent and hide. That has worked 95% of the time.

One of the ways they will know you have something is if you tell them...many preppers are to "vocal" about what they have and also "show" others their "preps" way to freely....
Some are trying to show people HOW to prepare so they can do it themselves. But sometimes even then they choose not to learn then the Prepper is in trouble again.

Steve is correct about the affluent being prepared as a way of life. When I was a child, many many years ago, I went to a slumber party at a rich kids house. We got our breakfast from a storage closet, that was twice the size of my bedroom. It was lined with shelves stacked to the ceiling full of food. I’m guessing from the size of the house, that it wasn’t the only one.

I fear for anyone showing up at the door of someone who has worked their tail off to stockpile food, water, fuel, weapons, etc.. I doubt anyone will simply surrender their stores without resistance.

People ask me all the time if they should purchase silver and gold. I tell them this scenario : The U.S. just got hit by an EMP and their is no food in the stores. Someone knocks on my door needing food and offers gold or silver coins for food....I would laugh at them and tell them they tried to take the lazy way out and didn't prepare at all. I would tell them you can give me some manual labor and then I would give you some food. I recommend barter items, stuff people can really use....like batteries for radios...ect... What do you think, Steve?

Yup, that's my favorite scene of all the series, very satisfying. I have no problem with the chosen solution, LOL. 😉It's the ultimate exercise in equity, the government taking your efforts to give to someone else. My husband and I have thought about this quite a bit and have done some things to mitigate the risk of having our supplies confiscated. I won't reveal that here since I have had a couple of creepy stalkers in recent month. No one is taking our food and supplies and no fight will be necessary if our precautions have been successful. Looking forward to Book #7. My entire set sits stacked on my nightstand so I can grab one and read when I want. ~Cynthia

I just listened to this whole video and you are exactly correct. You have to have supplies in multiple locations.
Government is "force"!
The government in that situation will have to use there man power and provision wisely. They will be looking at your presents online and offline to size you up so to say. Putting on a different front than what is really going on in your household is not the worst Idea.
When they knock on the door, tell the captain you and you family have a weird cough, and white blisters all over your skin and everyone is vomiting. If anyone in the squad has any sense they will run back to there trucks real quick.
I might as well die protecting my stuff as to starve to death. Unfortunately they will soon find a game that two can play. Once you realize you are already dead you become dangerous. They might get me on the QRF but the first wont go home. Fact is I shouldn't have even survived my deployments. Everyday now is gravy. Sure I will die but atleast it's for my interests, not a nation that hates me and my kind. Hopefully if nothing else my neighbors might have more time. They have young kids.

National Defense Authorization Act codifies that the Federal Government can and will take your property (including food, fuel, ammunition, medicine, transportation, etc, etc, etc) in case of a “National Emergency.” Funny enough, said National Emergency definition is left rather vague.
I have a high school friend.
His real preps are dispersed and out of sight.
He has some set aside at each location, in sight, just in case he is targeted for confiscation.
These set aside preps will ensure whoever takes them won’t last long after ingesting them.
I watch him with a side eye.

This scenario was also covered in the book "One Second After", the author justified robbing the farmers and preppers for the good of their small community. Individual property rights will get tossed aside during any real emergency. Covid was the latest example, shutting down your business, ability to travel, etc...
That was one of many things I disagreed with in that book.
The community put people on site of farms for security , labor and training in exchange for live stock and grain.
Operating under the special powers act they'll come to take your stuff under that......best to have worthless items

This is why we train in:
The Mozambique Drill,[1] also known as the Failure Drill, Failure to Stop drill, or informally as "two to the body, one to the head",[2][3] is a close-quarters shooting technique that requires the shooter to fire twice into the torso of a target (known as a double tap or hammered pair to the center of mass), and follow up with a more difficult shot to the head that, if properly placed, should kill or otherwise stop the target if the previous shots failed to do so.
That drill is not going to work if you get Zerg rushed by a squad of dudes coming to seize your stuff. You might get the first two dudes being that articulate then your really in a pickle.
Better to make it like they don't kmow you're there. The moze drill is great for CCW scenarios though so keep training.
On social security I acquired expired foods from friends / family and garage sales. I have food I have canned on my own. If they come and take my food they are responsible if someone gets sick.

I been thinking about this situation for long time...i dont know what i would do. Depends how many show up? I like to think itd be like thr beginning scene of the Patriot in the woods, but i know that's not logical. My question steve to you is... what would you do in that situation???
