I work at a supermarket. People get so mad and annoyed when there's no cooked food when the times are good. I couldn't imagine how people will be when it's shtf time
You are witnessing just how thin the veil of civilization is. See how the store gets cleaned out ahead of a snowstorm, and I am talking here in the South where the snow stays on the ground for a day and half! Imagine how it gets if there are no more deliveries coming.

Another reason you want substantial food stores even if you live in an urban area is when the food stamps get cut off people will rob you in the grocery store parking lot for the food you just bought. It may be a lot safer not to go to the grocery store even if the grid is up, the stores have food, and you have money. You guys definitely want to think about if it is a good idea to let the ladies in your life go shopping alone when things start to go nuts, thugs prey on women, and they will exponentially multiply after a month without welfare. If you are a woman and don't have a man to help provide security, go in groups of three or more if possible, and keep your head on a swivel in the parking lots, (everybody should always do that in the city anyway). Not a sexist, just being real.

I was thinking the same thing. Thankfully i have a Husband but if it gets real bad its not gonna matter, people are still gonna get robbed. But i figured if i go early in the morning like 6am/7am on Sunday morning or during the week it may be safer. Idk. I'll just pray to JESUS and have faith that's all we can do.

I dont think anyone is really ready for chaos that will be something that we just have to deal with as it presents itself...as a country we need to come together and take back control of our freedoms.
The country will never come together again. It's too late for that to happen.. Our forefathers had a revolution over a small tax and gun restrictions. This generation would never be that brave. Face it, chaos might be the best thing we can expect at this point.
I remember in 1972 when Nixon closed the gold window my Dad went to town and bought pallet loads of toilet paper, getting ready for chaos. He brought the toilet paper home, and my mom was having a bridge party with the local ladies. As my dad is bringing the toilet paper into the house for storage, all the women sort of mocked my dad, and he told them that when the crisis hit, he would be the only one in town with TP, and if they wanted a clean behind, they better be nice. So, I guess I have been part of the prepping community since 1972. My dad died a few years ago, and the chaos he expected never happened. I guess it never ceases to amaze me how long they can keep the unsustainable going. It always seems to keep going longer than you would expect.
Being ready for chaos does not mean living in fear. When prepping is done in more of a homesteading fashion, it is actually an enjoyable lifestyle. Agree . . . seems they can keep kicking the can down the road indefinitely.
Your father may have been a little early but he wasn't late. Up until recently i lived in the eastern part of the US , we had selves in the basement in one corner that could hold close to 1000 Mason jars of food we had grown in the garden and had put up for the future, some would call it prepping, other folks consider it a way of life, after eating a dinner of our on labor we would sit on the porch in a glider swing and wave at our neigbors and have a nice conversion , its a shame that putting a little food back is now so taboo, least someone might fall on hard hard times and need a little help from a neighbor , what has happened to this country?
I work with younger people everyday and none of them have any idea what kind of world surrounds them. All they think about is Thursday-Sunday, party and get laid. Entertain thy self. No saving, no preparation for today let alone tomorrow. An attractive young lady complemented my appearance yesterday and said she didn’t know how I do it. How has it become so complicated to put on a pair of pants and a shirt and look the part of success? I thanked her and thought to myself, I’m prepared for the weather if my tire blows out. But I was also prepared for a person to come in shooting, which she was very unaware of. I used to be young and ignorant myself to an extent, but it seems more worrisome these days.
I love your post. I too am sick of these young folks who have no clue and only walk around in yoga pants with their head in their cell phones. The generation behind me is sad, they freak out when they cant use the internet or go on their social media pages. They are also distracted by reality TV. I just stop talking to people and I only talk to like minded people who have the seem interest as myself....Take Care of yourself

I too am of Viking heritage... just happened into your site, am watching this video now and will continue checking out your info. Am a Grandma, Mom, and family cornerstone. Been onto all this for over 3 decades. Lost all preps and became the gossip of emergency services in my small village as preps were obvious during the 5 day burn of my home. Lesson learned was that the first real prep is awareness, being fearless and intuition. Anything can be taken or lost, but your mind is always going to be with you.
My new prep is fix it, reuse it, purchase second hand. I watched a news clip of a Mother with 3 children, she is a government employee who is down to feeding her kids beans. Seriously, she is living paycheck to paycheck. I’m sitting here with a broken leg, out of work for at least 6 weeks and grateful I manage my money and live frugally. I know darn well she makes way over and above what I get paid! People need to stop mismanaging their money.
Exactly! My mom of 3 who was working 2 or 3 jobs probably making 30 or 40k a year never once had a problem feeding us because she spent and saved and was smart the people these days think they are invincible. It's called save more spend less God speed t Klein!
In general, I have a hard time feeling much pity for Gov. workers, who make way more for the same or (usually) less work than their civilian counterparts, have much better and cheaper medical insurance, and protections against being fired that would make a Parisian envious. With very few exceptions, these Fed. workers driving cars w/ less than 50K miles on them, living in nice homes, birthing several kids, wearing new threads all the time are now struggling for lack of living frugally. They've been living comfortably w/ the spoiled brat mentality that, "The Government pays my salary, and the Government is permanent."
That's such a key point. Many people these days live above their means and have little to no savings. It's dangerous & concerning how little people watch out for themselves these days.
The difference between the rich and poor or the prepared and unprepared is that the unprepared poor need instant gratification. I too hold off on anything i can not pay for in full when the bill comes.

Been prepping for close to a decade now..time flies. We manage fine on VA disability pay... Mortgage free seven years now. . got all these people sobbing about missing a paycheck so they won't have food..when their pay is two to three times more than what we get....money management
A similar scenario has already occurred and I lived through it. I lived in California when the Rodney King riots happened. I saw a large city, Los Angeles loose control within hours. All fire and police protection was suspended. I worked in the State Prison system at the time and saw our inmates become fearful of what was happening. I thought they were going to give us problems but their fear greatly subdued them. Most people have no concept of how fragile civil order is. Pastor you are right on point in this situation. America is on the brink.

Old female military here, I'm ready, moving to the hills. I'm retired and I was raised with no running water no inside toilet single lightbulb pulled down from the ceiling for light, cooked on a wood stove, picked berries beans forged what we could. I'm ready to go back. I have one son 24 when he was 11 to 13 I made him go a whole winter without heat in the house in Indiana. We blocked off all rooms but one, had a single little heater, one little space heater we lived a whole winter like that I told him you won't die if you do without some of the things they think you need, you need to know you can live without be the luxuries .He didn't die and I didn't die and he's stronger for it. He's got everything he needs. I've got some property up in the hills in mid Mo. More than 7 acres more than 11 acres got a spring, a crik, creek you guys call it. Gonna be self-sufficient again, plenty of seeds going to be ready. I can do it, in good health but old I wish everybody luck your going to need it.
I would be embarrassed to say I represented the district that San Fran Nan represents, given the amount of homeless people and human excrement on the sidewalks there. Maybe she needs to focus some time correcting that and less time traveling abroad, pretending to be something other than what she actually is.

On the subject of food stamp funding being cut, this thought came to me: If and when that happens, might we see armed robberies of grocery carts outside Walmart, Food4Less, Safeway, Albertson's, etc.? I do not believe that most Americans have any idea just how UGLY this could become! Especially in the larger cities!!!

Thank God I live out in the country and away from any big city. I have a homestead with livestock and off grid capability. Tomorrow morning before Trump claims a National Emergency at 3pm, I am going to go to Walmart and stock up more on water and canned goods. We have family close by that will join us when SHTF. Every one of them have unique and much needed skills. We will be armed and ready for what comes. Hopefully we as a nation we can pull together and help one another so we can get past the chaos and return this country to the Nation it should be. I believe the term ready in this instance is awfully relative. It implies that a person at some point would be able to stop preparing, stop training Etc because there's nothing left to do, which we all know isn't reality.. Am I ready? practice fasting....and being cold and uncomfortable....you guys would be surprised how much you can handle....and still be ok....hard one to make do your children do but if it gets that bad at least you can show them your confident you'll be ok....I lived in Africa and beans rice and shotguns is helpful but not all it takes.

When I look at today's men, I most of all see a lot of soy boys, and the men on my age look like wimps. But anyway I take whatever comes to me, even if I stand alone.
Get busy this week. Purchase some heirloom seeds for 99c per pack. Get a grow light and seed starter kit and a bag of garden soil. Start this week and learn how to plant indoor seedlings today. Make it a fun day/activity with your family. Remove yourself from the TV and social media for a week. Turn it off. It can be an addiction. Get back to healthy living, away from social media. Spend that time in healthy communication with loved ones. Purchase a 5gal water cooler jug. Use that as your water source for a week. Ration it out, one gallon of water per family member per day. There is no need to live in fear but take a few steps this week to be a bit more self sustainable. That covers the basics right there; water, food, shelter, love and safety of others. Succeed in chaos, it can be done, and have nice warm wool or fleece blankets ready, for if the electricity goes out.

That's why I have become more concerned about saving my family and helping friends to get our non-combatants to a safer place than in our State's capital where we live.
I'm about as prepared as I can be, but I'm not sweating it all that much. Get yourself comfortable in your beliefs in spirituality, afterlife, death, etc and you will be a lot more relaxed and not as worried. I don't have a family to worry about, so I suppose that helps.

I remember in 1972 when Nixon closed the gold window my Dad went to town and bought pallet loads of toilet paper, getting ready for chaos. He brought the toilet paper home, and my mom was having a bridge party with the local ladies. As my dad is bringing the toilet paper into the house for storage, all the women sort of mocked my dad, and he told them that when the crisis hit, he would be the only one in town with TP, and if they wanted a clean behind, they better be nice. So, I guess I have been part of the prepping community since 1972. My dad died a few years ago, and the chaos he expected never happened. I guess it never ceases to amaze me how long they can keep the unsustainable going. It always seems to keep going longer than you would expect.
Being ready for chaos does not mean living in fear. When prepping is done in more of a homesteading fashion, it is actually an enjoyable lifestyle. Agree . . . seems they can keep kicking the can down the road indefinitely.

I work with younger people everyday and none of them have any idea what kind of world surrounds them. All they think about is Thursday-Sunday, party and get laid. Entertain thy self. No saving, no preparation for today let alone tomorrow. An attractive young lady complemented my appearance yesterday and said she didn’t know how I do it. How has it become so complicated to put on a pair of pants and a shirt and look the part of success? I thanked her and thought to myself, I’m prepared for the weather if my tire blows out. But I was also prepared for a person to come in shooting, which she was very unaware of. I used to be young and ignorant myself to an extent, but it seems more worrisome these days.
I love your post. I too am sick of these young folks who have no clue and only walk around in yoga pants with their head in their cell phones. The generation behind me is sad, they freak out when they cant use the internet or go on their social media pages. They are also distracted by reality TV. I too am of Viking heritage... just happened into your site, am watching this video now and will continue checking out your info. Am a Grandma, Mom, and family cornerstone. Been onto all this for over 3 decades. Lost all preps and became the gossip of emergency services in my small village as preps were obvious during the 5 day burn of my home. Lesson learned was that the first real prep is awareness, being fearless and intuition. Anything can be taken or lost, but your mind is always going to be with you.
That's why I left a community that mostly didn't align with my beliefs to a community that mostly does.

I watched a news clip of a Mother with 3 children, she is a government employee who is down to feeding her kids beans. Seriously, she is living paycheck to paycheck. In general, I have a hard time feeling much pity for Gov. workers, who make way more for the same or (usually) less work than their civilian counterparts, have much better and cheaper medical insurance, and protections against being fired that would make a Parisian envious. With very few exceptions, these Fed. workers driving cars w/ less than 50K miles on them, living in nice homes, birthing several kids, wearing new threads all the time are now struggling for lack of living frugally. They've been living comfortably w/ the spoiled brat mentality that, "The Government pays my salary, and the Government is permanent."
That's such a key point. Many people these days live above their means and have little to no savings. It's dangerous & concerning how little people watch out for themselves these days.
The difference between the rich and poor or the prepared and unprepared is that the unprepared poor need instant gratification. I too hold off on anything i can not pay for in full when the bill comes.

A similar scenario has already occurred and I lived through it. I lived in California when the Rodney King riots happened. I saw a large city, Los Angeles loose control within hours. All fire and police protection was suspended. I worked in the State Prison system at the time and saw our inmates become fearful of what was happening. I thought they were going to give us problems but their fear greatly subdued them. Most people have no concept of how fragile civil order is. Pastor you are right on point in this situation. America is on the brink.

Old female military here, I'm ready, moving to the hills. I'm retired and I was raised with no running water no inside toilet single lightbulb pulled down from the ceiling for light, cooked on a wood stove, picked berries beans forged what we could. I'm ready to go back. I have one son 24 when he was 11 to 13 I made him go a whole winter without heat in the house in Indiana. We blocked off all rooms but one, had a single little heater, one little space heater we lived a whole winter like that I told him you won't die if you do without some of the things they think you need, you need to know you can live without be the luxuries .He didn't die and I didn't die and he's stronger for it. He's got everything he needs. I've got some property up in the hills in mid Mo. More than 7 acres more than 11 acres got a spring, a crik, creek you guys call it. Gonna be self-sufficient again, plenty of seeds going to be ready. I can do it, in good health but old I wish everybody luck your going to need it.
I would be embarrassed to say I represented the district that San Fran Nan represents, given the amount of homeless people and human excrement on the sidewalks there. Maybe she needs to focus some time correcting that and less time traveling abroad, pretending to be something other than what she actually is.

Thank God I live out in the country and away from any big city. I have a homestead with livestock and off grid capability. Tomorrow morning before Trump claims a National Emergency at 3pm, I am going to go to Walmart and stock up more on water and canned goods. We have family close by that will join us when SHTF. Every one of them have unique and much needed skills. We will be armed and ready for what comes. Hopefully we as a nation we can pull together and help one another so we can get past the chaos and return this country to the Nation it should be. I want to comment on my preparation experience. I stored my supplies in a "Cook" wooden storage shed. There was a grass fire. I lost everything I stored.
On the bright side..... Homeowners insurance covered most of my loss. "Food for thought, Sir."

My mind is, my body is not. Unfortunately my "surroundings" are not...and I don't know where to start.
I really wish my father was still alive to guide me through this maze. He was an former Marine/Vietnam and he taught me how to think and act he never prepared me for this...I was in a car accident, rearended by a big rig, and my health was never an issue. Both sides of my family are extremely strong and smart. To my knowledge I am the only one that does not have physical health.

Get busy this week. Purchase some heirloom seeds for 99c per pack. Get a grow light and seed starter kit and a bag of garden soil. Start this week and learn how to plant indoor seedlings today. Make it a fun day/activity with your family. Remove yourself from the TV and social media for a week. Turn it off. It can be an addiction. Get back to healthy living, away from social media. Spend that time in healthy communication with loved ones. Purchase a 5gal water cooler jug. Use that as your water source for a week. Ration it out, one gallon of water per family member per day. There is no need to live in fear but take a few steps this week to be a bit more self sustainable. That covers the basics right there; water, food, shelter, love and safety of others. Succeed in chaos, it can be done, and have nice warm wool or fleece blankets ready, for if the electricity goes out.

Truly we'd be better off with a shutdown. The Founders never intended for Congress to be perpetually in session. Also the Federal Government was never supposed to be as big as it has become. Our social problems were supposed to be taken care of ourselves and at a local and state level. I find myself in agreement with you Pastor Joe. That's why I have become more concerned about saving my family and helping friends to get our non-combatants to a safer place than in our State's capital where we live.
If these officials cannot come up with a solution, we the people should do it for them! We have that right!
I'm about as prepared as I can be, but I'm not sweating it all that much. Get yourself comfortable in your beliefs in spirituality, afterlife, death, etc and you will be a lot more relaxed and not as worried. I don't have a family to worry about, so I suppose that helps.
We may think we are ready,no one is ready,we can't even begin to know what man is capable of. No movie,no warning,no target practice,or food storage,can help,the reality of what man kind would do if put in a dire circumstance. I'm scared,not prepared to face whom the enemy may choose to war against me. I am feeling great sorrow, it grips my emotions,I weep.
