We saw a man that had robbed a store on our game cams. He was on our property on foot. We sent location to authorities and they were able to find him. He had taken his life. We were prepared and notified our neighbors to stay in. He could have easily attempted to enter our home etc…. Always be prepared. Good advice guys. Appreciate all your videos!

I live in Maine. I was 112 miles away from the mass shooting. One week later some crazy nut lite a fire in the middle of walmart 9 miles away from where I live. The damage to the walmart will likely shut down our store permanently. This lunatic tried to burn the store down at the busiest time of the day trying to kill people. Only the local news covered the story with a tiny clip of news as if it was being concealed

My boss called our office a couple weeks ago, telling me to deadbolt the door and not let anyone in. Someone had been stabbed at a business a few blocks away and the perp. had run and they were searching for him. I called our neighbor businesses in our plaza and told the other receptionists the same info because they check the mail or have workers going in and out throughout the day. We already have to be vigilant leaving, esp. when it's late or dark. So that was a recent example of sheltering in place incident that made me consider more for "bugging in" whether it's at work or home.

Yes! You just reminded me of a time when I worked in an office. I always hated that we left our front door unlocked (I kept asking if we could get a code lock or key access entry lock because many of the people there were very safety conscious/prepper aware, and we happened to work for several guns and ammo companies) but my boss kept putting it off. Well, one random day, our admin got a call that was a recording from the police. It said to shelter in place because a woman was running door to door with a MEAT CLEAVER. It was that moment I was like, told ya so! We should've had a lock already installed. Instead, one of us had to go risk their life by walking to the front door and locking it. And that's just with a meat cleaver. Had it been someone with a gun, their life would've been in even more danger if they had to walk to the door.

Hunting is just a perk. He said he never wants to carry. I asked what if you are in a live shooter situation. He said that never happens. We live very rural and we may be too safe that he thinks that never happens here. 😳🤯😤🤦‍♀️ I instantly called my husband and asked him what did we do wrong and where did we go wrong! Been in law enforcement for 15+ years. Some things we've been seeing (at least here in my area) lately, they cut the power first, then cut the phone lines if there are any. Many people keep their power box outside unlocked. They simply open it and flip the breaker to off. Make sure to put a lock on these. Another thing I do, I have a UPS for my modem/router, and another for my camera hub. In case of a power outage, cameras will still be recording. We've also seen quite a few of these guys using jammers that blocks wireless alarm systems, and cell phones. The most common mode of entry into the home recently has been the rear slider/door. Definitely reinforce front doors, and if you have a rear slider like I do, do what I did and get a security screen installed. From the outside it looks like a normal bug screen, but they are really tough. They are expensive, but worth the cost IMO. Security is done in layers. Start outside, with GOOD lighting, signage (alarm sign, beware of dog) , cameras, fencing, etc. FYI.. SimpliSafe is garbage. Easily hacked with a $5 ham radio.

They can also just pull the meter out of the meter socket. If my power is cut, goes off or if I lose internet I automatically get an alarm on my phone (separte power and internet source) no matter where I'm at. With any luck I'll have my cell phone near me (not big on carrying a cell phone). I also have lighting on remotes that shut off all inside lighting (except what I need) and turns on outside flood lights. It lets anyone outside know that I know they are there, I can see them but they can't see me.

Please don’t assume just because someone has a partner in life that they shouldn’t both be prepared. A wife can save a husband’s life too. Yes it sucks you are alone, but doesn’t mean you can’t be armed and prepared too. Just choose a weapon you can handle. Doesn’t have to be a huge handgun, can be something smaller - even a .22 will do damage in the right hands with the right ammo and LOTS of practice. The idea in terms of home security is to not let them get access to the house first off.
One thing I have taught kids who now live on their own in apartments - if you have workers in your home, always check all your window locks / sliding doors after they leave.

In case we have a grid-down scenario. Then, when this past Oct. 7th happened and all these Jewish people were MURDERED by these Palastinians I knew I had made the right decision to keep working. This same thing could occur here in the USA since Biden (the traitor) has allowed way too many illegals to cross our Southwest border. Keep PRAYING for peace.

Here’s another thought. If you install freaky bright lights facing out from house. You’ll foil theyre night vision. Even have some lights located in a way that is triggered by movement. Thing is no one likes theyre eyes banged unsuspecting also this temporary effects them. Not seriously harming the person. If they use night vision and groups will use it. This will blow out theyre ability to be hidden. They will switch to regular lights. Giving theyre location away.

Depends on what you are looking as in home defense, EDC, and so on. Lots of videos on you tube will tell you all about the top brands and can give you a good idea about those particular weapon systems. The ranges that offer rentals are great resources to determine what works for you before you make the purchase. Remember though you want to purchase what “you” can shoot accurately. If you can only shoot 22 caliber accurately then so be it! May not be best caliber for defense but a round in target is exponentially more effective than the one that misses.

My Niece moved from Dorm Room to apartment this Past summer. He found some type of lock that goes in the hinges somehow where the door cannot be opened (inward opening apartment door) unless She disengages the lock.
They also put one of those door stops that you see on the bottom of a door that is on a hinge - schools put them on the outside of classroom doors to hold the door open - my brothers put hers on the inside.
3rd apartment door security, they got her something that goes under the door knob [ like you see done with a chair-back in movies ] this is o bar with one end made that goes under the door knob, the other sits on the floor, and when you push the bar flat to lock it you cannot open the door & no damage to the apartment.
