The FBI uses a 10mm mostly. Its a big difference.
I watched that Arkansas shooting yesterday, The helplessness in that lady's voice recording, is not a position anyone should be in. Always carry, Always..
Hi Steve great video. This is what I carry in the summertime. I carry A Glock 29 in 10mm auto. For A back up I carry A Smith & Wesson J frame 357 magnum 360 PD. In the winter time I carry A H&K USP tactical in .45ACP. I believe this is the most reliable weapon I have ever carried. It's bigger brother the H&K MK 23 was the most tested and reliable offensive pistol ever created. This is what work's for me. I have been carrying since 1995 every day. I also shoot at least 5 plus rounds every day. I live A rule life style. For the last 29 years I have had A Federal Firearms License or FFL as well. Thank you Steve for all of your great videos.
Yes and hell yes
👍🏻
Thats a very silly question . Im a Texan . The borders been open for almost 4 yrs Hell yeah i carry .
Pretty much this.
Technically, 50 years sounds to be more a reliable statement with people than alot of newbies.
Thanks for the video Steve. Huge .357 fan here….something about a wheel gun just speaks to me.
Have a blessed day everyone and stay safe out there 👍🏻
Yep, I love .357 and revolvers.
Looking forward to the 10mm video.
Like a fire extinguisher or a first aid kit. It’s there if you need it. I was surprised that no one in the Arkansas market shooting was carrying or able to attempt to take the guy out. One thing we won’t see is Governor Sanders saying that guns need to be banned. They won’t even ask her, because they know her answer.
Great video Steve!
So true, Diggin.
My nephew got his carry permit when he was eligible at 21 years old, he immediately did need to use his gun when someone running from the police tried to carjack him, as he got out of the car he was drawing his gun, when the thug saw the gun he took off like a rocket.
Excellent.
I don’t go anywhere without a pistol! Xtra mags
Well said brother. Keep your powder dry.
Thanks Steve
👍🏻
5’7 195# I’m average build. Carry a Taurus 40 cal. Carry every day. Most times really forget it’s there. As you said, you get used to it
👍🏻
I just picked up a FN 545 15rd or 18 rd mags. In 45 acp.
👍🏻
@integrativepreparedness9427 They have the version in 10mm 18 & 22 rd mags (FN5 510). Thinking of picking that one up.
Cordless hole punches are a necessity. I submit that a good IFAK should be part of your EDC, more lives might be saved if you can effectively treat the wounded.
Love the Summer hat!
Thanks, Cowgirl!
I've carried on the job, and personally since I was 18. Over 40 years in this order; .38 special for 2 years 38/ 357 around 10 Years, 9mn, another 10, and .45 for over 20. But my most recent training and experience from both civilian and law enforcement instructors with similar experience as mine, had led me to the conclusion that modern high quality 9mm hollow point ammunition is a very effective. Leading me to carry it primarily these days.
You'll still see me with my 1911, or Glocks 21 & 40 from time to time, when I'm out and about.
The main thing I try to get across to anyone who asks is CARRY SOMETHING! Find out what you're comfortable with and carry it consistently!
If you feel that 9mm is effective, why do you carry .45 and 10mm?
I made an appointment to go get my concealed carry class done so I can get a permit. I’m a woman, with two young kids and I want to be able to protect them. It scares me honestly to carry but it scares me more not to at this point. I intend to try to find training to get comfortable. Would be great if you could make a video specific to moms carrying and things to think of ❤
Good for you, Bree. People are afraid of things they don't understand. Building proficiency with anything takes away the fear of it while building the proper respect for it, and firearms are no different. I don't know where you live, but most ranges either offer or have a list of people who offer training. If you can't find one, contact your local police or sheriff's department. Chances are there will be some people who are able and open to training you. I will do an introductory video for moms (and all women). Thanks for the idea.
SheEquipsHerself is a great start AND she models different outfits, which is super helpful cuz not even men wear the same thing 365 days a year. Winter coat and jeans vs shorts and a tshirt, for example. Many will choose different "holders" depending on attire.
as a private citizen carrying I have moved from the attitude that the pistol is only there to fight your way to a rifle to a pistol that I can effectively fight with. Love my Gold Cup w/ 10 round mags. It makes it look like I know what I’m doing😂.
Right.
Knowledge of the correct use of firearms counts in case you may have to use in case of such event
Steve: it's refreshing to meet another .40 S&W owner and carrier. I have heard you mention it in the past. Most people in comments in all kinds of channels show a lot of disdain for the .40 and sing praises for 9mm. Even though I own a couple of 9s, I am just over all the hype and celebration of them. Done. I am like you: give me a .40, .45, 10 mm, and .357 Mag any day.
Exactly right, RoadKing.
Should I carry.. I sure would if I had the money to buy one.
Make the money. No excuses.
Save up. Find a cheaper one. Just make sure you're comfortable with it. You wouldn't wear shoes that don't fit...same applies here. Find something that works for your hands, your body, etc.
If it was a ar-15 or Glock…. Be on in the news!!
I just wanted to add one more thing, I’m 56 now, but back when I was only 22 I held my first child in my arms, she was absolutely beautiful and only 2 1/2 when her heart stopped beating (cancer sucks)! It was a horrible heartache something that is beyond words to explain! I made up my mind a long time ago that if I can prevent another human being that pain I’m going to do my absolute best and I’m going to do everything in my power to keep me and mine safe as well! I don’t want to have to run away and hide as I hear bullets hitting innocent people because I have no way to intervene, don’t misunderstand I’m not looking to be a hero, I just want to be able to live with myself! I carry a gun everywhere all the time and I also carry some medical. We are living in crazy times, get training and carry a gun and most importantly have your heart right with Jesus because there is nothing more important than knowing where you are going to spend eternity!
God bless and stay dangerous,
Rick
Well said.
You about have to here.
Carrying a gun isn’t meant to be comfortable, it’s comforting! I carried an all metal gun when I started and guess what, weight has never bothered me!
👍🏻
Grand Rising Little Rock Arkansas I carry I used to drive through Fordyce Arkansas going to the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy years ago he had a shotgun then switched to a AR I carry
CARRYING=CofortING not comfortable...
Steve, I do question if I should carry or not but it’s not for the same reasons as a lot of other people. My problem is that I have arthritis in both hands and I’m afraid that I can’t get to my weapon quickly or I might drop it and have it used against me or my family
That is a legitimate concern. Only you can determine what's right for you in this situation.
Multiples at times.
Crazy don't mean stupid. These predators pick the path of least resistance where the prey is most likely to be vulnerable. "It would never happen here" Is like ringing a dinner bell to a predator. A prepared mind should be thinking "It most likely would happen here"
Right.
......No one's coming to save you.
I think what happened yesterday should once and for all end the " try that in the country " argument. This was a Tanya Tucker moment.
Yep.
It should...but it didn't and it won't. People still think they're untouchable :-/
Im in California and to me its not worth all the trouble and fees
That's what they're counting on.
@@integrativepreparedness9427 Right, it's so obvious they don't care about crime and only want to disarm law abiding citizens.
Some of us are weaker in the wrists or muscles in general so it does matter how much the gun weighs. If you can't handle it then you shouldn't carry it because it is too awkward. Yes, your daughter handled those guns fine but in an emergency situation can she pull that thing out and be accurate with it? I know that you have more experience in this than I have but this is one of those rare times when I can't quite agree with you.
If you don't think you can handle a gun, then you shouldn't carry one. My daughter is 12. If she can't respond as well as a 25 year-old it's because she's 12 and she is just beginning - not because she is physically incapable. Apparently, you completely misunderstood my purpose in using her as an example, which was to demonstrate that nobody should under-arm themselves because they believe or have been told they can't handle a more effective caliber. And yes, I do have a lot of experience in this, which is why you should question why you disagree with me. Not to be unkind, but when the less experienced disagrees with the more experienced, there is a lesson there for the less experienced to learn. Further, if a person is too weak, they should build more strength - and yes, it can be done.
@@integrativepreparedness9427 I will gladly build more strength if you can tell me how to get rid of arthritis in my wrists and thumbs. I am only pointing out that we are not all at the point that we can handle a big gun and it would be better to have a smaller caliber than nothing at all. I did understand why you used your daughter as an example and I think it is wonderful that you are teaching her to protect herself and how to do it safely.
@icecreamladydriver1606 Some say switching to keto, ketovore, or carnivore has helped...esp carnivore. It can be done on a budget so don't let that stop you from trying.
Lots of herbs n whatnot out there too. Perhaps RainCountry has a few ideas to help.
@@katie7748 Thanks Katie. I eat almost keto. I have tried many of the herbs and I have found that they can help some with pain but it doesn't make the arthritis go away. I believe a smaller caliber that you can handle is far better than trying to handle something that is more awkward or nothing at all. Thanks again.
If you are going to carry a gun you darn well better get some training first.
Training is always preferred, but a great number of people successfully defend themselves every year without any training at all.
No you don't need training.
Wish i could carry. I made a mistake 18 years ago being with the wrong guys at the wrong time. I did the crime and i did my time and never went back. Now im a single dad raising my little girl by myself but im still paying for that mistake. My rights to protect myself and daughter have been stripped. If i was good enough to return to society i should be good enough to protect myself n loved ones. All gun laws are an infringement.
I agree. Have you looked into having your conviction expunged?
@@integrativepreparedness9427 no sir I haven't. We moved from sacramento where i caught that charge to Nevada Praise God. But Honestly brother I don't have the money and i wouldn't know where to begin.
Yes. Every. Single. One. is 1000% unconstitutional.
Steve Arkansas is dangerous
Your background noise is very loud!
It's not nearly as loud as a gunfight.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee😂😂😂
@@integrativepreparedness9427 loud enough that I quit listening!
@@integrativepreparedness9427 I’m not in a gunfight! I’m in a classroom! I come here to learn
