I was pulled over by the Oregon State Police 2 months ago. I was doing 75 in a 55. yes I was above the limit. The trooper ran me and saw I was a lawful CCW carrier. He handed me by DL back and said slow down and have a nice day.
I was stopped on July 4th 2023 for doing 70 in a 45. The speed limit WAS 70 but went down to 45 around the canyons of where I was. Did not realize it. The officer approached my vehicle & asked why I was stopped. I was unsure at the moment. When he told me why, I then mentioned that myself & my fiancée are CCW holders & that we are both armed. The officer thanked us & also talked to us about our firearms. I did receive a ticket but for 5mph over instead of 25mph over, which was awesome. Just treat police with respect, always. Sucks I was given a summons but thankful that it was only 5mph over.
Most i've ever had was 7 removed in a single surgery. That was years ago but i don't think it fucked me up as much as having all 4 wisdom teeth removed at once
@Ethan James Being not from the US of A, I'm amazed how heavily sedated/drugged patients get simply for minor surgery. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed in one sitting and it was locally numbed and it worked flawlessly. I hear stories when people leave the hospital with 8-10 heavy duty painkillers that are highly addictive "just in case". I see very little of "as much as needed but as little as possible".

The LEO's hand returns to his pistol reflexively at the 1:10 mark when the driver reaches into the "hand" box. Again, the driver remains unoffended.

We were taught in our conceal carry classes to have both drivers license and conceal carry ready for the officer when he approaches. This alleviates any miscommunication, and instantly makes the officer aware of the situation. Usually the officer will ask if your armed and thats when you spill the beans.
I think that is a bad idea. The officer will see you digging around and think something is going to happen. May I suggest you keep both hands on the wheel so the officer will not feel threatened.
Philando Castile did the EXACT same thing with his family in the car and was still murdered. Either he came across the wrong cop or he was killed because he was black and seen as a threat even after informing the H A officer
Helps to have a camera
You're getting a ticket for wearing that hat! 👮🏼♂️👍🏻📋🖊 😭
Even in states where ccw isn't required I've noticed that having one anyways still makes everyone a little more comfortable
its about not arguing or being agitated. yes it sucks you got pulled over youre scared etc but you have to remain calm. cops are humans too
not all of them are human .
This is exactly how Philando Castile did it, yet he was shot point blank in front if his family...
@@dtroystopper2 The cop was definitely in the wrong with Philando. I won't defend him at all, but that is absolutely not the norm. Again, not blaming Castile, but from listening to it, you can tell Castile told the cop about the gun and then immediately started reaching for whatever it was that the cop wanted. Totally jumpy cop and a completely unnecessary shooting, but I personally tell the cop I'm carrying a gun and where it is while keeping both of my hands at 12 o' clock on the steering wheel. Let the cop tell you what to do next. If following commands to a T, that is not going to happen.
@@xxrecruitxx1648 You absoloute fucking moron.
@michael j. That's not true, not at all.
this is legitimately the funniest comment section I've seen on CZcams
It's not funny at all he did everything correct that is how to respect police
@Anthony Vacca Calm down serious Sam.
you shoulda seen the "excuse my sandwich breath" medical checkup video comments before they closed it up
ikr I haven't laughed this much in a while
omg these fucking comments are hilarious
The proper way to do this is shout out "IM ARMED" and quickly exit the vehicle.
insurance is in the handgun box..want me to quickly pull it out for you Officer?!?. lol
Informing a cop you’re armed and cooperating without incident. Weird.
Yeah when Philandro Castile did the same thing they murdered him
@@SinnedNogara he did not specify where he had his firearm
@@SpceDog-zd6bj Excuses excuses...
r_ elentless01 and of course police officers never lie to save their own skin
Ikr almost as if it has nothing to do woth skin colour and everything to do with your decisions
The way to do it is pull it out quickly and say "PEW PEW --- ITS A 22!"
Lmao then the cop will be like "PEW PEW --- ITS A 9MM!"
22 is lethal man!
Lmfao
Guys, Here is our True Savior
HalleluYAH translates “Praise ye YaH”
YaH is The Heavenly Father
YaH arrives via the TENT OF MEETING
YaH was Who they Crucified for our sins
YaH was Crucified on an Almond TREE
- Ancient Semitic Cuneiform of Moshe (Moses)
- Isa Scroll (The Original Isaiah)
Isaiah 42:8
"I am YaH; that is my Name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.”
Isaiah 43:11
“I am YAH, and there is no other Savior but Me.”
Isaiah 45:5
“I am YaH, and there is none else.”
the cliffhanger. "I'm-" what was he about to SAY??? lol
Dude: I have a weapon on me sir.
Officer: What's your weapon
Dude: My hand
I prefer "I have a concealed carry permit. My firearm is at my 5 o'clock position".
I always lead with the permit.
I advise my clients never to say the word "gun" or "handgun" because I'm always concerned that an unseen partner might walk up on the passenger side and only hear "gun".
Otherwise, excellent. Polite, respectful, telling the officer you are armed and licensed. Not being combative or short. Keep your hands where the officer can see them. Tell them what you are going to do before you do it or ask "how would you like me to proceed", then repeat the instruction before doing it.
I also display my bar card.
Dang man.....that firearm comment is good, I carry mine but luckily have never been pulled over. Thanks for the tip.
Agree. I hand DL w/ Carry Permit on top, and allow officer to ask, where is it? I never say "gun".
What if you also happen to be black?
@@Ajidam even more reason to know how to handle this situation.
1) be calm
2) turn off your music and car
3) roll down your window
4) be respectful and polite
5) keep your hands on the steering wheel until the officer asks you to do something
6) tell the officer what you are going to do and ask them if that is ok
7) say "officer, I am a licensed concealed carry permit holder and have my firearm today. It is in a holster at my 4 o'clock position
8) let the officer tell you what to do. If you don't understand, ask them to repeat it (I have to sweep past my firearm to get my wallet out, is that ok?)
9) if for some reason, after doing all of that, you think the officer is uncomfortable, ask them if they would prefer to disarm you themselves, then describe the holster (I have an inside the waistband kydex hosted attached to my belt by one easy to remove clip)
10) if the officer wants to disarm you, let them. Fully cooperate.
Bottom line, if you show the officer you respect them, remain calm, and cooperate, 99.9% of the time, nothing will happen. Most of the time, showing them respect, being calm, showing your hands, giving them information identifies you as not a piece of sh*t who might shoot them. Let them see your license and ccp. I've been stopped and having a ccp ended up being something the officer used to justify a warning instead of a ticket.
My black clients who follow these steps have never had a problem.
Most of the time, trouble comes from acting strangely or otherwise escalating the situation needlessly.
One of the more dangerous thing cops do is your run of the mill traffic stop. Make them feel safe.
You want to fight the ticket? Cool. That's what court is for. Hire a guy like me. Never on the street.
I have a simple rule - I'm never going to hand an officer my firearm. Ever. Period. If an officer orders me to hand them my gun, I say "I would prefer it if you took it off of me. Would you like me to step out of the vehicle?"
@Micah agreed. That's not a good reason to test it. As my concealed carry instructor says, do you want to test that theory or be as safe as possible?
