With Gary Madine sent off in 1st half injury time and Blackpool 1 nil down it wasn't looking great at half-time but the 10 men of Blackpool fought hard to get a deserved equaliser only for Huddersfield to go straight down the other end and nick a late WINNER to break our hearts...or so we thought!

Aha brilliant video there Lee, yano what I must say I absolutely loved Jane’s rant there at the end and I agreed 1000% with what she was saying. I was saying the exact same thing on the way out, we have players now that have flair and skill and bags of excitement. I said after the forest game that Rogers was gonna be the one to watch he came on in that game and was very exciting. And we all know what Poveda and Bowler can do so why oh fucking why are all 3 of them on the bench? Instead we go with yet again a back 5 that we all saw didn’t work at boro or Southampton so why he’s persisted with that I’ll never know? And then the 3 who started in midfield are just destroyers really or whatever ya wanna call them they’re not gonna ping a ball around the pitch threading balls through to strikers so then you’ve got Madine trying to win every header/long ball and eventually gets sent off whilst challenging for one, and Yates just chasing shadows endlessly.
It’s no surprise that when after a long long night of turgid football he finally brings on some decent players that lo and behold not only do they have an impact, but they also bring other players alive and into the game. Jerry suddenly had something to play for and something to actually do and ahhh I dunno just what on earth was that starting lineup? I’m telling ya I’m in full agreement when you said that if Appleton had played that starting 11 he’d had a lynch mob waiting outside for him after the game. And tbh I’m the most patient of fans when it comes to managers and allowing them time to get things right but if Mick persists with this nonsense then I’m simply gonna lose all remaining faith because the games will continue to be a chore to watch and we really will see the writing on the wall by that point.
Like you said Jane, piss poor performance that overall. 20 minutes at the end and that was it. I also agree about the winter why oh why do we weather so poorly 😂😂 every year through December, jan and feb we really are shit it’s so weird, night games as well we never seem to win night games either 😂

Horrendous team selection. The players got McCarthy out of jail, especially the substitutes. Will he learn anything from this experience? Josh Bowler, Morgan Rogers, Ian Poveda and Andy Lyons should all start on Saturday. First goal a farce. Their second goal just like first scored by Middlesbrough. Perhaps it was hard to close down with a man short. Fighting spirit amazing.
Yes it was probably the one moment Huddersfield took advantage of having a 1 man advantage and we didn't deserve it we fought so well it was cruel and honestly I felt like crying. Thank god for Josh Bowler I almost felt like I was walking out on air at the end!
We started with Josh Bowler the last 2 games and he did nothing [admittedly out of his normal position in the second one], but coming on when the opposition were tiring that maybe the way forward and to make out Huddersfield are such a bad team is a bit wrong when they are above us in the league .They probably thought the same about us. I also like that we have started banging the ball up the pitch quicker win or lose possession as most Blackpool fans were getting tired of the passing around at the back routine ,especially if we are losing.
They are a bad team Peter they looked as much if not more lacking in confidence than us tbf they struggled to beat 10 men. We gifted them the 1st and even got a man sent off to help them win but they couldn't.
We were playing a team down there with us those are the games you have to try and win, games against top teams? Well that's a bit different but they looked really shaky at the back. Huddersfield have been a top Championship side for a while but they weren't last night in 'our opinion' 😉

Ridiculous, why leave them two on the bench! The first half was a shambles, Madine idiot! It was like watching league 1/2 football, just hoofing it forward and hoping for the best! It came as no surprise to me, when we got Bowler and Rogers on and starting playing some football we'd get back into it. Should of been an easy 3 pointer because they were shaky as well at the back Huddersfield. If anything the sending off may help the cause, because he'll have to start Bowler or Rogers.
Yes it may well be a blessing and surely food for thought for Mick? I agree they were there for the taking last night they looked incredibly shaky and we didn't take the game to them until as you rightly say Bowler came on
Love watching your vlogs tourist guides an all, on Madine he came on late against Boro but watching it over he looked overly aggressive the time he was on and I don't think you need this at this time. Despite all the negativity you know they can perform (like we knew when Wilder spat his dummy out) keep encouraging, give McCarthy time to turn it around. You are my favourite club outside of Boro and I am willing them on to stay up.

All credit to the team on getting what might be a valuable point, but as well all know this was a game they simply had to win. I can’t believe that Bowler and Lyons didn’t start the game. Things may have been very different if they started. I’m extremely angry with Madine who seems to be intent on getting sent off every game. I can understand his frustration, but he has become a liability.
It’ll be a tough game against Rotherham on Saturday who are a very good side in my opinion.
It’s very difficult to see where the wins are going to come from at this moment. Draws are not good enough.

Yes totally agree, before kick off it was a must win! The team selection was ridiculous especially being home to a bottom 3 team not a top 3 team we had to go for the Win!
But as it panned out it was a remarkable point in the end which may or may not? be the defining moment that saves a season of hell
Have to say I agree with Jane's comments at the end. I felt like I'd had the stuffing punched out of me and even struggled to enjoy our 2nd equaliser. Nobody I know could understand leaving Poveda and Bowler out. Just wish it only took the change of a couple of woolly hats and a choccie bar to improve the performance. We can only do our bit for the team they have to do the rest. I'm not sure I would have wanted Poveda and Bowler to start but definitely one of them and the other to come on later. My main gripe has been too many kids in the team against grown men for weeks so I was happy to see a stronger looking team. I hope Mick can find the right balance and help us to start keeping clean sheets because we simply can't at the moment

First up.. The Match Officials were dire last night.. ref missed all sorts. Madine isn`t mobile enough and that red gives us 3 games where MM can put Jerry up front and play the ball players that do well. JB was good and we need Rogers and Poveda need to start.

Mcarthys home debut team selection was auwful, apart from the last 10 mins, it was the worse home performance I’ve seen for a very long time, I hate to say it, Appletons football looked better than this, we looked lost for 80mins, I agree with Jane, that was rock bottom, the only good things to come out of this game, was Bowlers equaliser, and Jane’s new hat. Another great vid Lee, keep up the good work bud. 👍

Totally agree with you both. Team selection a joke and obviously no creativity so we let them off the hook for three quarters of the game. First half was like watching lower league footy with the ball in the air 50% of the time - worst I have seen for ages. Give them credit for heart/fight though.
1st half was shocking but again we get no luck we lose Goode who was looking GOOD to yet another injury and we concede within minutes of him hobbling off. A referee and linesman that once again come from the give Blackpool sweet FA school of thinking.
But we showed grit last night and we need it if we are going to avoid the drop

We have a population of 140K but not everyone that lives in Blackpool is from Blackpool. We always have the problem that we have the sea on one side and we are only an hour away from Manchester and Liverpool

has the Wider Urban Area as being 249,000 including Poulton Le Fylde and other areas. Supporters don’t just come from the town or city but surrounding areas for who it’s still their local club
Yes we have Lytham and St. Annes as well as catchment areas. Fleetwood obviously have their own team in League 1 and Kirkham has AFC Fylde. I am sure we have plenty of fans in Poulton and we also have lots of exiles who tend to go to the games down South more

I'm not sure that's the biggest problem with us at the moment Tony and if the players feel they should keep making their feelings known then I've no complaints so good for them. It doesnt really matter whether I think it makes the slightest bit of difference or not? in the grand scheme of things? nor does it matter whether I seriously doubt it will it ever be seen by anyone who would be in a position to make their feelings known to affect things in any way either (which I have to say sadly I don't tbh) it's a protest they all seem to be firmly behind and it's clearly very important to them to keep making their feelings known.
@@LeeCharlesTV I just look at the NZ rugby team and how they perform the 'Haka' to intimidate the opposition before kick off.If two boxers face each other in the ring they stare each other out to intimidate-they kneel or pray in the changing room beforehand. I feel it would be better to stand up and look the opposition in the eye before kick off. Take the knee facing the crowd if they want to-don't kneel before opposing teams. No it certainly didn't but leaving Bowler on the bench and going down to 10 men was our undoing wr did well to fight for a point but that's the problem we are scratting for points and if looks ever more desperate 😕
McCarthy choosing to play the percentages against a poor side at home, really doesn't bode well. Mick should have been dropped off at Teessaurus Park after last Saturday's game. He needs putting out to pasture with the rest of the dinosaurs.
