Thank you for this. My hair has been stick straight my whole life. Now that I’m going through menopause, it became very curly. Now that I’m in my 50’s I’ve jumped down the curly hair rabbit hole. I’ll be camping on your channel for a while.

Just found your channel and am glad to see someone talk about hormonal changes and how it affects our hair. I've had straight hair my entire life and thought that menopause brought me frizzy hair. I just found out a few months ago (through a video here on You Tube) that my hair isn't frizzy but is now wavy. It's a whole new world learning how to style and take care of my wavy hair.

Thank you for explaining everything. Ive had 3b & c curls most of my life, but starting in my late 30's my texture & pattern started changing. Now at 50, my hair is closer to wavy - 2c/3a & some bs. I was lost when my hair stopped curling like it used to!

Thank you for talking about this. It is hard being a curly, and going through menopause.

You are the first person to mention what happened to me. You can see from my old pic here, that I had 2A hair, during menopause my hair completely changed to 2C w/some type 3 pieces. I had to watch a bunch of curly hair videos to figure out how to take care of it. No one else in my family has had this big of a transition. My mom's hair was stick straight her whole life.

Hi thank you for this video. I have a question. I have wavy hair and styling requires scrunching and squishing hair products and conditioner and when I do this I have lots of hair come out onto my hands while doing this. How can I style my hair without squishing and scrunching so that my hair doesn’t come out onto my hands??? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have

Thank you for this video! So informative, and it was good to hear you confirming some of the things I’ve been discovering. I entered menopause a couple years ago and just recently discovered my hair is wavy. Now I’m trying to figure out what the heck to do with it! So I’ll be watching more of your videos. My hair is slightly shorter than shoulder length, fine, medium-low density, very soft and silky and easy to over moisturize. I prefer volume over definition because too much definition makes it look thin and stringy. Can you recommend some of your favorite volumizing and thickening products for my hair type? So far, my hair seems to like volumizing shampoo/conditioners and the lightweight Curlsmith products the most. But I still haven’t found a product that makes a significant difference in how thick it appears.

I’m so glad you found my video helpful! I have an Amazon storefront with a list of my recommendations for fine hair. I just started this so it doesn’t have everything and I’ll be updating it as I go along. Here is the link: www.amazon.com/shop/curlychelle?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsfshop_aipsfcurlychelle_T5XBYAJ2VEC89WB01620. Some recommendations off the top of my head are Verb ghost shampoo and conditioner. Curlsmith thickening lotion. Rizos curls volumizing hairspray, this is amazing for both hold and volume. It gives slippery hair a little bit of grip without being sticky or producty. Aquage uplifting foam, amazing for root lift and volume. Sea salt sprays are great for getting volume and making hair a bit less slippery. Some good ones are the new Rizos curls one, Verb salt spray, Bumble and bumble surf spray, and Xmondo salty. None of them dry your hair out, they just add some nice texture and volume. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

@@CurlyChelle547 thank you so much for this info! I will check out your storefront and look at these products. I did just get the rizos spray so excited to see what that does.

Great video! I am 51. I guess I am fully in Menopause. I can’t say that my hair changed bc of hormones due to my home bleaching practices 😂.
