Thanks for all the info, it is so helpful. The first symptom I ever had was the texture of my hair and skin changed. The hair change was really upsetting actually because I didn't know why it was getting coarser, dryer with an itchy scalp. I didn't realise until years later that it was due to the menopause. I started using more gentle products and natural henna dyes which helped reduce the itchiness. Also I use a pre-wash scalp oil and I find now that I'm post menopause my hair seems to be recovering, it's taken a while, persevere, it can get better.

I think my eyes are drier in menopause so l have to put eyes drops to lubricate them. I’m no expert but l also have tested for an under active thyroid now that l’m post menopausal so having both of these changes happening at the same time makes me think that dry eyes could be from either having a hypothyroid or post menopause, or maybe even both. I’m trying to figure out why l’m experiencing dry eyes and will ask my doctor on my next visit why this is so. It’s interesting that you have mentioned that you too have been getting dry eyes too!

FINALLY! Thank you so very much for this information. I have been suffering from oily itchy scalp for several months and it has been driving me crazy. Dandruff shampoos weren't working well. I do drink water, but of coarse it's the liquid in liquid out game so I always need to know where all of the restrooms are. I have switched shampoo and conditioners a few times then just decided to make my own. There has been some improvement.
The beard and mustache are mostly white so Laser treatment isn't recommended. I did just google anti-androgen foods and found a list of things I can add into my diet. It may or may not be helpful. Off to the doctor then, if not.

      Hi
You could try a Neem shampoo as this is recommended for itchy scalp. If you are in the UK or Ireland you should be able to get this from most independent health shops and some pharmacies

My doctor just put me on thyroid medication because of my recent thyroid numbers. He says I have hypothyroidism. I haven't felt any different over the years so I am questioning this. Can anyone tell me if menopause impacts our thyroid? I've watched this channel for quite awhile now and it has really helped me thru peri menopause and now menopause. If there is a past video on this, can you send me the link? Much thanks Eileen for this channel! ❤️

      Hi Barb
Great to hear that you've found our channel helpful, thank you! Although, I've not done a vlog on thyroid function (this is technically a medical condition so we can't say too much legally), we do know that thyroid function is easily affected with the hormonal changes and may women can become borderline without being aware of it.
If you're not sure this is the case with you, I would ask your doctor for a more comprehensive thyroid test which should be available, however, many doctors won't offer this because of the cost.

Maybe try some Neem Cream, this is known to be good for dry skin and also has anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties! :)
