To Barbora’s credit, she has also won multiple grand slams in doubles as well. She regularly participates in tournaments of all surfaces on which she can dominate top players, unlike Iga in particular who seems to excel primarily on clay only. Rybakina and Sabalenka have very one dimensional predictable styles which players are now beginning to exploit. Paolini’s weaknesses have now been exposed too, so she will begin to have difficulty against savvy players, just like Vodrousova unfortunately discovered. Love Coco but I think she got lucky in the US Open 2023. Barbora has the technical ability, strong mindset and variety of strategy to win the best players, and now has proven she can accomplish much more. If only she can keep from getting injured so often! She is the player to watch now 🌟

Krejcikova, dear guys, could not have won “consistently” every second week a singles title, because she used to play AT THE SAME TIME doubles (where You did not even mention her collection of grandslam titles). Pliskova for example used to be pretty consistent on small tournaments and before majors she was - in media - considered as one of the favorites (also in my home country Czechia) and I was just wondering if the people are blind. I would not bet on her 10€. She can hit, but she cannot play (doesn’t know when to hit hard and when not), and just has some sort of block when it comes to big tournaments. Barbara is a different level of a player. Intelligent, not easy to read her shots, humble (understands her own game). But some opinion makers just put her in a box (Mouratoglu didn’t even mentioned her as a possible favorite after Swiatek, Gauff etc. were taken out) and she cannot in the media world get out of that box. But she already did much more than all these promoted divas. Wake up.

Thank you for some Czechia perspective. The western media (Anglo American) totally ignore Krejcikova, and half of the morons doing commentary still pronounce her first name "Barbara." It's so embarrassing. Don't get me started about the strenuous singles and doubles schedule she keeps. In this pundit pow wow they didn't even mention here that she played three sets in the quarter finals in doubles after she beat Ostapenko in the singles quarters--in the same day! She was on court over five+ hours and then played her semifinal the next day. So all told she's played 11 matches at Wimbledon. I actually hope she doesn't play Prague this next week, and instead recharges her batteries for the Olympics.

Well, Plíšková showed, that she can play technically and smart in final against Barty at Wimbledon 2021. That was one of a hell match. But that was probably her pinnacle. Pity, she was so close there.

@@pauldewalt1162 I think tennis is now too much part of a big market and players ar more and more screens for logos and advertisments. Krecikova is not a barbie type suitable to look at You from flashy advertisement videos so no mentioning of her. If You look at Gauff (fit in a at the moment strong US race topic) or Raducanu, they have achieved a split of what Barbora did but You see their faces everywhere. I am sad about that to be honest. And I am a speaking as a coach making his living with tennis.

Let's add some more context to Krejcikova's 'Big Four' comments in March 2023 - her main point was that she was never talked about anywhere near the level of the top 3 back then (Swiatek, Sabalenka, Rybakina) by the media, even though she felt she deserved some recognition. Yet nobody remembers that in response to that, Sabalenka agreed: "I was thinking the same, why everyone is saying it's three of us? No, it's four of us... She's doing really well and playing really consistently." Some reasons Krejcikova probably had for thinking it back then:
    - She had just recently beaten the top 3 ranked players (Swiatek, Sabalenka, Pegula) in 3 consecutive days (1st & only one to ever do that) to win the Dubai Masters 1000
    - She had beaten Swiatek in 2 straight finals, including that Dubai final to snap a long Swiatek streak, and also in the Ostrava M500 months before that; she also was 2-0 vs Rybakina
    - At that time, she had the same # of slams as 2 of them and Swiatek only had 3
    - She had already won 10 doubles slams, including a career slam & 3 in mixed, as well as a WTA Finals and Olympics in doubles
So for all the snark people had in roasting Krejcikova for one comment back then and then not 'backing it up' until now, let's keep in mind that injuries and illness are the main factors that derailed her over the past year [edit: and she's struggled w multiple injuries the past 3 yrs] but she's finally healthy now. Also, since that time, Swiatek has 'only' won 2 French, Sabalenka's won her 2nd Aus Open, and Rybakina 0. And now Krejcikova has her 2nd, and both of hers have come on the most polar opposite of surfaces.

You're absolutely right. And what she also said was that there were many other players that could compete with the big three (which was just a made-up thing anyway), not just her. But she felt with her record that she should be ONE of those, not the only one. And this stupid thing took on a life of its own. I read the original interview. This whole thing has been blown out of proportion, and the fact that these nitwits are bringing it up again is annoying. Tennis punditry is just "stupid is as stupid does."

Iga Swiatek will still be #1- but, Barbora should be knocking on the door of the top 10 rankings after her incredible Wimbledon run! she beat some major players on her way to this final against Paolini

@@27gts Indeed Krejcikova is going to be ranked 10th starting tomorrow, with 3 of the players she beat at Wimbledon also in the top 10 (Rybakina, Paolini, Collins) & another (Ostapenko) at 11th.

When Barbora Krejčíková won the French Open three years ago there was a lot of talk of her being one of the worst-ever Grand Slam Champions and how that was going to be her one and only title. She certainly proved those critics wrong yesterday. As well as having that background of having actually won a Grand Slam over Jasmine Paolini, in terms of favouritism, she probably took some confidence from having converted that Roland Garros Singles title into a personal and Czech double in the Doubles with Kateřina Siniaková, so just winning the Singles at Wimbledon this time around was comparatively easy work. How fitting that 'Katka', later on yesterday, landed the Ladies' Doubles title with Taylor Townsend.

Sometimes just 1 min video call go viral and earn many subscribers.. when Matter goes to the court side to watch players practice he can shoot a video like Sinner's incredible forehand up close.. and some punny comments about it can make the video really attractive..

And are you reaching? As long as Swiatek keeps failing to make a deep run @Wimby, she is not the completely dominant player everyone wants to give her credit for.
