Subnautica is so popular they made ocean real
I love when art inspires real life :D
Wait the ocean is real??? 😢
Can't wait to meet reaper leviathan
They added a subnautica easter egg 😮
omg no fucking way!!11!1!1!
Fun fact: Due to the way basking sharks' corpses decompose, bodies that washed up on shores confused people for hundreds of years, being often the origin for many sea monsters and cryptids such as Trunko
Ooh that's a fun fact indeed! :)
i think i saw someone mistaken it for a prehistoric fish
@@TheLastBacon I don't mean to bother in case you answered this already but WHEN do you think we might see anything about the next Subnautica game? A trailer at least? more screen shots? From the leaked screen shots it seems far into development already!
I'm dieing for even a speculation video of when we might see this, do you think Gamescom, some other event, will they not bother with an event at all, will they use a console showcase like a Nintendo or Sony show cases to show the game off?
Another great example would be the Zuiyo-maru carcass that was mistaken for a plesiosaur
Don't believe this comment it was actually a conspiracy made up by E.L Wallace
As a basking shark, I accept the ranking. It gets the basking shark seal of approval..
Yay thank you for your approval :)
As an arch made of sand and rock I approve
Wait you dont have oposable thumbs to type

"This might surprise you but we actually have seas and oceans in real life"

Bermuda triangle is Ecological Dead Zone confirmed?
Haha YES :D
Or are we the ecological dead zone and bermuda the crater cuz it has like the cannon cuz things go in and dont come out...
Fun fact: There's a real Ecological Dead Zone in the Black Sea.
or the mariana trench

Me when I visit Australia
As a scuba diver there's not much i wouldn't do to get to see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat
I get that - though as a fellow scuba diver I'd also be terrified :D
@@TheLastBacon ohhh that's so cool i never knew! Padi, Cmas or..? :0
Is it weird I dont find most of these scary?
I love nature ❤
@@TheLastBacondepends on what you meet and how close you are to it.
"Terrifying appearance"
5:01
That is the derpiest looking fish I have ever seen.
Haha it always looks very surprised :D
Just a little guy
@@pemanilnoobwithout the little
He open mouth
And eat plankton
I scare the Crashfish more than the leviathan.
Fun fact, most of the yet to be explored parts of the ocean are likely empty anyways since most life is reefs and the like
Hopefully :)
@@TheLastBacon the "weve only explored 2% of our oceans" is a myth based on weird defenitions. to have sonething being counted as explored someone had to be there. we arent going many places in the oceans, because its way easier to research those places using drones and most mapping is done with satellites.
we actually know our oceans very well.
either it is empty
or the stuff down there is big enough to cover an entire cave, feeding themselves from the stuff that enters said cave only to discover the cave entrance is a huge mouth
the sunfish fills me with so much joy, just a big hefty boy
Hehe so much heft on them :)
That is in no way scary it’s adorable
You should do this again but with extinct creatures like the megalodon, mosasaurus etc! It'd be really cool seeing how these huge creatures compare to subnautica leviathans.
Ooh sounds awesome! :)
@@TheLastBacon it definitely will be. We’re kinda desperate for content while we wait for the next game to come out, so this should help fill it lol.
A little wittle correction. The longest animal is the giant siphonophore which is 40 meters long.
Some can get 50 meters
Fair though I believe they're colonial organisms right? :)
Actually no, it's the bootlace worm at well over 50 if I recall, siphonophores are way cooler though
@@dragoncat9153 I like how the bootlace worms are scientifically called Lineus *long*isimus.
@@omphya6229 there's some great scientific names, 2 favourites of mine: desmodus rotundus (common vampire bat, translates to 'fat vampire bat') and gorilla gorilla gorilla (lowland gorilla is gorilla gorilla and one of the subspecies, think it's western lowland, is gorilla too)
Who the actual fuck would find the goofy ahh squished by a hydraulic machine Sunfish more terrifying than the Spider Crab?
Lmao their faces are kinda freaky :D
@@TheLastBacon Spider crabs at least appeal to arachnophobia which is very common not to mention they look like aliens. Sunfish is like F tier their faces look derpy as hell
The Last Bacon, I really liked this video! I subscribed too!
Yay thank you kindly! :)
why do i love listening to ur voice. it is just so calming and relaxing it sounds like u r on a podcast
Thank you so much! :)
@@TheLastBacon no problem and thank u for replying to my comment
Going over a bunch of different, sometimes terrifying creatures IRL is the perfect video to accompany the De-Extinction mod for Subnautica and Below Zero being updated/released. As for fish, many of the deep sea ocean ones are scary, like the famous angler fish, fangtooth, or gulper eel (and many more). 😱
Absolutely! Will definitely check DeExtinction out soon :)
@@TheLastBacon Please cover the scariest deep-ocean fish! I feel like you did an incredibly good job on this video, especially with how you perfectly kept our interest at the end and I really hope you could do more of this (I'll subscribe if you do :p )
this is just a list of my favorite animals
:p
Yay epic :)
I LOVE giant squids and giant pacific octopuses and colossal squids and lions mane jellyfish and the list goes ON man the ocean is so cool
@@escaped_cephalopod indeed, they are super cool, one of my favorites is the whale shark
@@romano3980 I have literally loved those since I was like 6 and now I like octopuses more but they’re all great

Interesting video on having this channel back on my recommended!
Nice :)
I can’t believe god stole oceans from subnautica
Art inspires real life :D
Nice video I enjoyed it and it’s interesting to know more about our planets ocean
Thank you! Totally agree :)
The Oceans of the past were far more terrifying with literal leviathans
im glad more and more of your content is popping up on my recommended page, and i see how you reply to almost every comment, you are truly a good video creator
Thank you very much for the kind words :)
1:45 he looks so surprised and cute lol
Camera shy :D
Amazing video
Thank you! :)
Crazy how your mom isnt on this list!
Lmao :D
Nah she wouldn’t fit on the list.
I love watching all your Subnautica (and Subnautica related) content, but this was a really cool change of pace that still remained relevant to your usual stuff. I could listen to you talk about cool real life ocean creatures for much longer than only 10 minutes.
Yay thank you kindly :) Really glad you enjoyed!
I would love to see more ocean releated content like this from you. This was amazing.
Yay thank you! I’d love to make more :)
I wish bigfin squid were meantioned, those guys are horrfying, we don't really know how big they grow either because the only ones we're really or captured have been juviniles around 15-26 feet (roughly 4 to 8 meters) long, they're widly spread across the world in deep oceans but we've only seen them a dozen of times which totally isn't horrifying at all
edit: corrected lengths because I had to recheck some things
Oh god yeah I just googled them and they're a BIG nope :D
@@TheLastBacon Yeah they're horrifying and I don't like how we don't know how big they actually grow
They’re terrifying, but that’s why they’re awesome
@@thwomp363 im pretty sure we recently found an adult though, didnt we? your data might be outdated
@@agamerintheworld They believe we've seen one on camera but, since we haven't ever captured one, we can't tell it's size because with the camera, we don't really have a point of refrence
As an aspiring marine biologist, I enjoyed this video

Im planning to become one in the future soooo may i asked where have you studied (and if you are satisfied with your studies)
Love your vids man helping me through a tuff time
Yay really glad I can help :)
I love these kind of videos exploring the horrors of the ocean. Great choice bacon!!
Yay thank you! :)
The sunfish deserves to be in F tier
Fair :)
Loooooooooooooooooong leg crab
Very loooong :)
Really cool video ❤ You could expand the list with some of the extinct creatures that dwelled our oceans once some time, truly some horrors among those as well!
Sounds like a great idea :D
It would definitely be good timing, given the recent description of Ichthyotitan severnensis.
Wow, very informative video, never quit❤
Thank you so much :)
Oarfish and Sunfish are not scary big dawg
I think the Oarfish is definitely spooky :)
@@TheLastBacon They eat zooplankton what is it gonna do

Disappointed that the kraken wasn’t in here. Listening to the kraken isn’t real allegations is the first sign of a channel going woke. SMH
Bro what
Well there were the squids ;)
this is a list for confirmed creatures
Holy you have gained so many subscribers since I last checked (I’ve been subbed since >100k) Congrats 🙌
Thank you so much for being a long-term subscriber :)
I didn't expect ut from this type of video but this is actaully pretty good.
Really glad you still enjoy it :)
this was a fun change. i had no idea the reaper was based on the oarfish and now that its been pointed out, i can see it! i was terrified of the oarfish when i first learned of it, so it is only fitting the reaper should be inspired by it. great vid, mate!
Thank you so much! Glad you learned something new :)
Another brilliant video
Yay thank you :)
Great video, can’t believe they made leviathans from subnautica in real life. Scary!
Haha can’t believe it either :) Thank you!
I love how you used the stanley parable soundtrack for this, definitely fits the mood
It's such a fire OST :)
YES YES YES BACON KEEP THE IDEAS UP
Heck yeah :)
I like that bacon can make lots of good content and its never the same and its never bland, and he can reply to most comments. Its amazing
Thank you kindly! :)
np
I like your real life related content!
Thank you kindly! :)
good explanation, amazing video. im now scared of the sea.
I always have been :D
Absolutely amazing video. Was lowkey hoping youd bring up the bigfin squid as atleast an honourable mention sicne its so alien and terrifying, while being quite long and scary. Yes its only 6 meters, but damn is it horrifying
They would’ve been an awesome addition! :)
just had some bacon and got reminded of this channel and came back to it after a year (probably), me personally sperm whale, giant squid and lions mane are my top 3. its just the thought of being cooked alive via echolocation or being completely dragged down into the abyss and getting crushed by the pressure while something feasts on you (pretty sure there has been clips of giant squids acting aggressive) or just dying to venom that seems so terrifying to me. also siphonophores are pretty creepy too you should check them out
Oh I did look into siphonophores too and they're super freaky!! :)
I love this guy. His content gets more and more entertaining my the upload and he always replies to as many comments as he can
Thank you very much! :)
I love your channel and I love subnautica thanks bro
Thank you kindly! :)
Cool vid 👍
Thank u :)
Cant wait for the ghost leviathan to be released into real life! 😃
Same lmao :)
MOM WAKE UP BACON UPLOADED but also very interesting video 😂
Yay glad you like it! :)
Liked the video mr bacon also have you heard of siphonophore
Thank you! I have they’re super cool!! :)
Great video! You did miss the opportunity to bring up Siphonophore's though- millions of single-celled organisms forming one large creature. Technically one off the coast of Australia is classified as the world's longest creature, measuring about 120 meters in length. We have some pretty crazy ones that have been filmed in the gulf of Mexico as well- they are usually found on the deeper side. If you go down this rabbit-hole, you should look into the "Black Carpet" story as well- a massive one multiple people have reported moving along the ocean floor. No concrete evidence to support that one's existence yet, but an interesting story nonetheless.
True they are freaking awesome! Definitely should be mentioned :)
thank you for this video, Meatkachu
You’re very welcome :D
And yet like only 5-10% of our oceans have been explored………..
Riley: light work no reaction
Oh yeah Ryley could get it done in a week :D
Super cool video! However, my nitpick is the placement of oarfish, theyre rarely seen and considered extremely shy and only eat very small animals. I also think theyre absolutely adorable :3
Ok that’s fair :) I was a bit biased because of the reaper thing.
I would love a video on prehistoric leviathans! Some shashtasaurs one ithyosaurs are believed to have grown larger than the blue whale!
Sounds awesome! :)
Wow the subnautica devs made a real life ocean! That's so cool
Crazy right? :)
Bacon Boiii, please keep making this type of video!!!!
One coming soon! :)
if you do a part 2, I would love to see you rank the bigfin squid
Sounds fun! :)
Best idea haha!
Yay thank you! :)
I like it! do the same thing but about dinosaurs ;)
Ooh great idea :)
You should make a contest of earth vs subnautic (maybe a short) of different stats to see which planet has better? oceans i think that would be a cool idea
Sounds fun! :)
One of the best part of your videos are the stanley parable ost ❤
Yay thank you :) I love The Stanley Parable so much!
@@TheLastBacon me too!!
Happy to finally introduce my new dog to the world that is The Last Bacon videos
Yay hope he likes the vids :)
Make a tier list of prehistoric leviathans being the ones form Paleozoic to Mesozoic to prehistoric Cenozoic
Sounds awesome :)
I dont understand how the biggest amounts of teeth don't scare me, but as soon as I see something with tentacles I get a shiver down my spine
I kinda get that too - the squids freak me out so much!! :)
You should make a part 2 with some of these animals:
Bigfin Squid, Giant Siphonophore, Frilled Shark, Goblin Shark, Megamouth Shark, Great White Shark, and Angler fish
Good idea! :)
Next video you should do Top 10 video game Leviathans.
Ooh love the idea :)
You should make one of these tier lists with real prehistoric leviathans, such as a mosasaur.
Love the idea :)
I started playing subnautica again. Reached the lava castle today and finished the Neptune. So almost finished my 2nd run... damn you, bacon, I have other Games to play!
Haha that sounds awesome :)
Now you should do a list of the most dangerous/scariest looking marine life.
Great idea! :)
Cool video! I could definitely see monstrous jellyfish being included as a creature in Subnautica 2! It's amazing how alien many of these are.
By the way, what is the name of the song that plays at 0:52? It sounds so familiar to me, but I can't quite place the name.
It’s from the Stanley Parable :)
@@TheLastBacon Ohhh, yes! Thanks!
Wow, Japanese spider crabs are in one of my favorite games! I thought they were exaggerated though, I didn’t know they actually looked like that
Yeah they actually look crazy irl :)
The ocean is that a subnuatica reference also I love your videos
Haha it definitely is :) Thank you!
Now do this with ancient and extinct leviathans, sure that will make a good and long content.
Heck yes :)
I’ve actually seen a Japanese spider crab in person, it was hella cool
Yo that’s so awesome! :O
Also a note on the whale shark, here in Australia you can go on a boat tour and swim with them, I did it last month, definitely worth it
That’s so awesome!! :O
You should rank prehistoric leviathans next
Heck yea :)
I would suggest another entry into this Tier-list, the Portuguese Man O'war. I mean technically it's a colony of animals but still it's tentacles can also reach 30m or above in length and I've heard someone describe it's sting is like reaching into a power outlet
Ooh very cool for sure :)
Cool!
:)
Most of these animals seem scary but animals like the shark whale and blue whale are nothing but gentle giants, very adorable creatures. There is just something so fascinating about big passive creatures, cant tell why. Maybe thats why my favorite leviathan in Subnautica are the reefbacks. Love your content, cant wait for the next deathrun video.
Basking sharks look so funny with their stupid looking mouths lol
Oh absolutely :) I could watch these animals in the wild for hours!!
The second I heard the music at 0:51 my brain instantly went:
„When Stanely came to a set of two open doors, Stanely walked through the door on his left.“
A commenter of culture I see :)
Giant squids have always terrified me,and still do.They are so large and just look like they came from an alien planet. It gives me chills looking at them.
Absolutely! Can’t imagine being in the water with one :)
I'm pretty sure I've also heard of Oarfish be referred to as "doomsday fish" b/c they come up to the surface shortly before disasters such as earthquakes, exactly like you said.
Such an epic name :)
It would be interesting to see the devs embrace mods and make it easy and accessible to all similiar to black ops 3 zombies. Some people have really made some crazy maps, imagine if subnautica had that. Ideas could literally be limitless. Not to mention the game would be timeless and always fun to play. Or with the development of new random maps with random everything to keep the game fresh. Ahhhh I’m so excited!!!
Would be amazing for sure :)
6:15 that looks terrifying, especially with the information you gave about the whales.
How did the diver not get absolutely annihilated?
Really good question tbh :)
do you ever plan on ranking underwater creatures in other games cause honestly i wouldnt mind.
Sounds great! :)
I think the Magnapinna squid deserves a honorable mention. They look like aliens and it is really cool!
True they are super freaky! :O
Make a vid on prehistoric leviathans. That should level the playing field lol
Ooh sounds awesome :) Though the blue whale would still probably come out on top or close!
Do a tier list on actual subnautica creatures if you haven’t already
I already did! Thank you so much!! :)
Could you perhaps, at some point, make a video on all the weird things of the ocean. For example, the Mary Celeste, the Bloop, the 52Hz whale, etc?
Did one about weird sounds recently! :)
@@TheLastBacon oh cool!
