Christmas Lentil Loaf Video: ( • VEGAN CHRISTMAS🎄3 AMAZ... )
02:20 - Vegan stuffing recipe
1 tbsp vegan butter (or cooking oil of your choice)
1 large white onion
2 cloves of garlic
4 stalks of celery
1 apple
2 vegan sausage links
1/3 cup pecans
1 loaf of bread, dried out (either in oven or left out over night)
1 tbsp dried sage
1/2 tbsp rosemary
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp salt (or too taste)
1/4 tsp black pepper
1.5 cups vegetable broth
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Chop onion, garlic, celery, and apple and sauté in vegan butter on medium heat for 5 minutes. Add chopped pecans and chopped sausages and sauté until the onion is translucent. Remove from heat.
Add the chopped dried bread to a large mixing bowl, add seasonings and sauté mixture. Add 1/2 cup of vegetable broth and mix well. Repeat until you’ve used all the vegetable broth (1.5 cups). The bread should be moist but not wet. Add more vegetable broth if needed. Add mixture to a large baking dish and cover with tinfoil. Bake for 45 minutes then remove tinfoil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until top is browned. Remove and Enjoy!
08:41 - Roasted garlic veggies
1 large sweet potato
4-5 Yukon gold potatoes
3 large carrots
2 tsp oil (add more if you want)
3-6 cloves of garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions: preheat oven to 350 F. Chop potatoes and mix them with 1 tsp of oil, salt & pepper in a large bowl. Add to a baking dish and cook for approx 10 minutes. Potatoes take longer to cook than sweet potatoes and carrots, so while the potatoes are cooking chop sweet potatoes and carrots. Season with oil, salt and pepper and add to potatoes. Cook for approx 30 minutes. Remove from oven and add chopped garlic. Cook for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
NOTE: to cut down cooking time, roast the veggies on a higher heat (400 F) for a shorter amount of time. Because we were baking the stuffing at the same time, we had to use a lower heat. Do what works for you!
12:12 - Gravy Recipe
4 cups cremini mushrooms, chopped
2 cups onion, chopped
2 tbsp cup veggie broth (for cooking)
2 tsp tamari (or braggs for cooking)
Sauté together and add to a blender with the following:
2 Tbsp miso Paste
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
2/3 tsp thyme
2/3 tsp rosemary
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 Cups vegetable broth
Blend everything together and then simmer on low for 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!

They're both the kind of happiness and awesomeness we need right now, and while I'm not canadian.. southern Californian hispanic.. I will say that I'm thankful that they both exist. And thank them for everything they do.
Well said!
fellow latinx-er here!! hola!!!!!
Whenever I watch you two, I feel like I’m catching up with friends. Thanks for the video :)
That means a lot to us! Thanks for the watch.
It really does feel that way, I smile so much when I watch these videos :D
They are the best. Very cute together.
I feel the same fr
SAME!
Omg was literally just trying to find recipes for a vegan Thanksgiving...Derek and Crystal to the rescue 😎
Great minds think alike!
Cutest and funniest couple on CZcams, Crystals laugh makes my day
Crystal is so beautiful and her laugh is enchanting!
Her laugh is TRULY contagious!
Yes, I was just thinking how lucky he is.
Petitioning to change "potato" to "tapato" officially
😂
You got my vote👍
😂😂😂
I was about to go to sleep, can’t do that peacefully knowing there’s a video of yours I haven’t seen! Thanks for everything guys! ;)
Thanks Reece, we appreciate the watch! Have a great sleep!
Simnett Nutrition thanks! Just finished the video, some amazing ideas for when it comes to my first ever vegan roast dinner and Christmas!
for people in the states, field roast makes this like pastry wrapped vegan roast that’s kinda like a beef wellington vibe...SO GOOD🙌🏼 10/10 recommend
It all looks sooo good, and this is only one of three! You're making me nostalgic for the US and Thanksgivings of my youth. What I miss the most are cranberry sauce made from fresh cranberries and pumpkin pie, which you probably won't be making.
If you think you're lacking ingredients in Canada, well there's no Thanksgiving in Italy, no Tofurkey (that's ok), no apple and sage sausage, no Amy's, etc., etc.
I will live vicariously through your videos. Sigh 🙂
The stuffing 😍😍. Also Crystal looks so beautiful. It would be so cool to see her skin care and make up routine!
She has her own channel you can subscribe to ☺️
At 3:37 I loved how you both rocked together in sync with one another. I can’t help but notice the small details. 🤗🤷🏾♀️😂
That stuffing recipe looks divine - salty, savory, sweet, tart, umami. Everything I could want in stuffing.
Just give my the whole pan of roasted veggies too. Lol😋❤
Garlic still in their skins but crushed a little and can go in at start and protects them from burning and end up with gooey sweet garlic at the end!
Sounds amazing
Aurora Surrealis it is!
When we first went vegan with my husband 3 years ago, we watched a ton of your videos. And to this day, if we feel like watching something fun together, we tune in. Always awesome when Crystal is in the video! We are making your gravy and stuffing recipes for tonight's dinner for family. Thank you!
HOW DID THE GRAVY COME OUT? i wanna make it if it was a hit
@@angelathanasiu It was incredible!! Making it again today for our Canadian Thanksgiving :)
@@MilaDanceSport yes i made it recently..it is freaking amazing. I gotta make this again for my thanksgiving homemade vegan cutlets. This gravy is so addicting
I read your video title and thought, "Wow! It's a little early for Thanksgiving, isn't it?!"....."oh! Yea, they're Canadian." Lol!
Canadians do everything a bit early don’t we? 😂
Me too 😂
Me: an Australian who does not celebrate thanksgiving at all
Also Me: Watches anyway, taking notes for Christmas... even though I don't cook at Christmas much either 🤣
there is no thanksgiving in aus?
@@leangroundbeef2322 Nope, no thanksgiving. Our next holiday season for 2020 is Christmas. Halloween has mixed reception here as well.
used this stuffing & gravy recipe last year. it rocked. came back for it again this year
I have found that if you need a gluten free stuffing you can try using cooked rice (brown or wild preferred) or quinoa instead of the bread. Not quite the same but it is good! Thanks for the video!
Your guys' chemistry has really been blooming on camera lately!
love the chemistry you guys have together! 💚 me and my partner also have a plant-based cooking channel and we love watching you on a saturday evening (UK time) every week!
He should definitely have her in his videos more often. I love seeing them together.
@@DH-uw3us me too! I try to get my partner in my videos more often and it's not always possible! 🙈
I have chronic anemia and your meals have helped a lot thanks..a lot of people think that eating meat will fix my problem but it haven't.eating vegan meals have helped a lot more thanks you guys...
I am so #teamstuffing and #teamsides. I'm single and usually do Thanksgiving solo and have often just made myself just stuffing and green bean casserole. But these look awesome! I'm so making them for myself this year. I just need to get a proper jug for that sweet gravy.
I like how whenever there is oil present in the kitchen, there is a nice explanation ahah.
It all looks great - and the pleasure you take in what you are doing shows. You are both very genuine and fun to watch.
STUFFING!!!!! Yessssss!!! That's the best part of Thanksgiving! Thank you -- your recipes are ALWAYS the BEST!!
You both are an amazing couple! It is good to see you together =)
Thanks man!
You all rock. And Crystal your complexion is just flawless.
Okay, wait, can we just appreciate “cooking with Crystal?” 😃😍 You should have put the gravy on the stuffing! Great video! Can’t wait to try these! 😋
Great video. I had the opportunity to practice medicine in Vancouver for 3 years. I absolutely love Canadians and Canada. Thank you for such fun and informative information. I have been plant based for 15 years and enjoy learning something new. Your staggering the root vegetables time was a new idea.
Love you two SO much!!
Love,

The end was way too funny🤣🤣

Thank you!!! Everything looks GREAT!
And now I'm excited for Thanksgiving!
Hey, just wanted to say I made the stuffing and gravy today for Thanksgiving and both came out absolutely delicious! The gravy I followed to the T but the stuffing I tweaked a little... I increased the amount of sage, thyme and rosemary for some extra flavor (I used 6 cups of bread). I used 1.5 apples, 4 sausage links (instead of 2), ½ cup of pecans and just a bit more celery too. Basically I made a bigger batch to serve 6 people instead of 4. It tasted amazing! Will def do it again next year. Thanks Derek! :-)
This is totally my sort of "stuffing"...gorgeous!
What a feast ! 🙏🏼looking forward to making this, thanks for sharing !
Thank you! Everything looks fabulous 😊
Omg that looks amazing! I can’t wait to try it!😋💕And the ending with the sneeze was HILARIOUS!!🤣🤣🤣

I can’t wait to try these. Simnett recipes never fail!
That looked soooooo good. Simmett you know you wanted to dance when tasted the stuffing. Thanks for the great ideas
Hey guys!... Thanks so much for sharing!
Absolutely going to try the stuffing recipe. Fyi...the garlic cloves you were showing us are, elephant garlic. And since you both love to garden now is the time to plant garlic. Use one clove with the skin on and plant about 4 inches deep.
Cover with a bed of leaves or straw and they will arrive next spring. At the end of summer august/Sept they are ready to harvest. Their plumes are beautiful, and can be dried and preserved.
One clove = a bulb of garlic...
Good luck and Happy Fall. 🦃🍛🎃
Ohh man DEFINITELY giving these recipes a try thanks guys always amazing 😍
