I am a family medicine physician in California and it has been overwhelming emotionally and physically at times. I want to personally thank you for your positive energy and your wonderful videos. They have helped me immensely to recharge and maintain my sanity during this crazy time. :)
Thank you for all you're doing. Stay well. Hugs! (from a distance!)
Janet L. Medicine physician lol. Medical maybe 😂
Living in Ireland. Lost my Job. However, I'm using the time to Meditate, make Art & Slow Down. We are all in this together. Inhale the positive, exhale the negative. We Come One. Namaste
I hope meaningful work opens up for you soon 🙏❤️
Sorry mate, hang in there
Val Marie here! I pray you will be provided in all your needs!
Yeah bro, I'm in England. Luckily didn't lose my job but can't work for now. You're right; now is the perfect time to be creative and focus on our well being as much as possible.
It's horrible to be isolated and separated from our loved ones, but it's also an opportunity. Hope your meditation goes well.
You got this man!! Keep going and good luck!
Yesss an extra long Simnett Nutrition video. My day just got that much better!!
You have no idea how much I cut out too. Haha, was 2 hours when I first uploaded all the footage. WHY!?!?! Lol.
Haha Derek we dont deserve you!!🙏🙏
Hi Derek and Crystal! I have a confession here. I must admit, I stopped watching your videos for good few months. I thought, well I watched enough, I tracked enough of my micros in cronometer, I don´t need to know more info about nutrition. I stopped and got worse. I got into trash gossip YT channels and trashy junkfood here and there. I lost the control over my mind and my body. But now I´m back, drinking spinach smoothie, eating beetroots and vegetable bowls. I know that I´m just 1 out of your almost half a million (WOW) subscribers, but I still want to thank you. Thank you for posting your videos and adding content even when I was not watching. And thank you Crystal for posting about women´s health on IG. Thank you both!
Crystal, we would love to see you workout!
Yes please Crystal... Show us !! 🤗🙂😊
Yes, I'm down with this too!!!!! 👍
Yes, more Crystal. She seems so nice and cool!
As always thank you for being kind and fun in your videos, the positivity really does make a difference 😌
thank you. Glad it comes across. :D
@@Simnettnutrition can I do weight training with GERD
Believe me when I say your videos are inspiring to any and all who have subscribed to your channel. I, for one, appreciate both of you. Keep the positive vibes coming and thanks for all you do!!
Thanks so much! Happy to still have work and be able to help bring joy and info to others.
Recently found out that my daily lifestyle is actually called “quarantine”. great video! 👍
Haha you're not alone. Other than gym and daily grocery store visits.
Me too!
Lmao same!
Tyler Marentette hahaha same
👍
When Derek said: "Still can't planche."
I felt that.
Derek and Crystal, I appreciate the humor, great information, workout tips. I'm especially moved by and appreciative of the heartfelt care you show for others in all your videos. You're inspiring, kind, powerful people that are transforming humanity. Thank you!
I’m only five minutes in and I’m already laughing so hard...love you two!
good to hear that you guys are safe and prepared! i'm in manhattan, and basically all of nyc is a ghost town. it feels like a movie! people are out running or walking, but it's ominously empty with all of the stores closed and no gatherings. however, the bright side is that it's proof of how people are definitely taking it all seriously. 🌱
As a ER nurse battling the front lines of this virus, thank you for the positive vibes on your channel. Today is my day off and our mental health is just as important as our physical health. Well done!
Battling with... empty hospitals
It's great to see your positivity. Home schooling our young kids in the UK and keeping them contained to the house isn't much fun. They do play in the garden, but are scared about going outside to the streets. Your video cheered me up. Great stuff.
You're both such beautiful people
We're in quarantine since Monday in France.
Just allowed to (and with a 'certificate') :
- go shop our food (ahah, that's really hard when people panic buy)
- go to work for people who can't do it from home
- go all alone run if we really want to, but not too far
- go take your children if you're divorced
- go give your blood
As I am at home because I don't have work at the moment, I already know how to fill my time. So, no problem (appart I don't go for an hour walk everyday, just run once a week to not go too much outside).
I suppose the Earth was too tired of humans shits...
For people who don't know what to do :
- sport at home
- meditation (you can go inside and work on you, that's not loosing your time, trust me)
- stretching
- learn new languages or anything else (mooc, memerise, etc)
- draw, paint
- play music, listen to music, sing
- read, write
- watch movies or series (not too many but still) or documentary
- choose the good videos to watch and don't watch a ton of shits or a ton of corona related video : you're allowed to smile and laugh
- take care of the people that are nearby like family or friends (I don't who you live with but hey! You can)
- share time at the phone or skype etc whith people you love, but not to much if it depressed you
- write a journal?
- do you spring cleaning, you have time right now
- if you have a balcony or a garden, spend time there, it's cool and nice!
- if you're allowed too, choose hours when people do not walk/run a lot (like before 9-10 in the morning) and go for a walk once a week, not too far, but still
- cook and learn
Take care everybody! ~♥~
And feed animals.... take care🌹
Crystal laughing at you is really the best part of your videos! I love you guys! Stay safe and healthy!
28:20 Wow, that was really genuine gratefulness right there. Good on you, Derek! ;)
So not only did you inspire and help me so much when I first went vegan, but now my 5 year old son loves watching you and is always requesting vegan food :) Thanks for all you do and all the positivity you bring!
The supply chains have not been interrupted but people panic buy. Wait a few days. Same everywhere I’m on the east coast in Connecticut.
Also I think because restaurants are closed, people are eating out less and actually buying their own groceries now.
David K very good point. Glad this happened in the spring. Maybe I’ll get the grill going for fruits and sweet potatoes! :0)
Same in France. I live in Paris. We supposed to stay at home for 15 days but we're waiting the announcement for more.
Zinèb Zéhar they want us to stay away from others until the graph curve is flattened. ( no new cases) it may be June.
I Have been praying the rosary with live from Lourdes :0) God bless
@@davidk2187 That is exactly what I've been saying and they say, well, there's carry out. Then I say that a lot of people don't like to reheat their food.
I live in Pennsylvania. Everything is closed. Kids are off school. It’s a scary time. My husband and I are both nurses, so we did get some extra dried beans and frozen veggies so that we do not have to go to the store for awhile. We have only been going out for work and to run or bike (alone). We have some various gym equipment at home (a lot like yours). We are trying to stay active, healthy, and positive! Thanks for the positive video I love Crystals laugh! It’s contagious 😂
Thanks to all you CZcamsrs for continuing to create videos for all of us during this stressful and boring time we need to see what other people are doing to stay occupied and getting entertainment value from your video. So thank you guys for doing this. Much love and stay safe. 😷
Love the energy!!!!💪😀
Lol...hey...do what you can, with you you've got, even if they're rusty. No excuses!!💪 Totally Love your positivity!!!!
You guys are a breath of fresh air and your video totally counters all tbe negativity from all the news.
God bless you both!🙏 Your awesome!!!🙏👍💪❤🙏😀
Thanks for the nice comment. All the best to you!
@@Simnettnutrition thank you😊
Plz soak the beans for few hrs or overnight for it to cook well and for it to digest better.
I have never left a comment on a youtube video before but wanted to send you some good vibes. I am an Michelin trained Irish head chef, living in London, England. I am vegan (and my husband too). I make such complicated food daily, so it's so nice to see your bowls of goodness that give me home eating ideas. It's easy to get stuck in a rut with ideas, even when you're a head chef! Also your positive smiling energy in every video is sooo good. Me and my husband love your happy vibe. It's all that great plant based nutrition that has us vegans so happy! Keep up the good work over there, it's appreciated on the other side of the world :)
Love you guys! We need more lighthearted videos. As always your food looks great. Cheers from Toronto!😷
"Ahimsa" in Devanagari script on Crystal's hand is non-violence, or more accurately, non-cruelty. Perfect for a Vegan.
wow im never this early. Love the channel guys. My 3 and 4 year old love watching you workout, They say your the muscle man
That's great! Hahah. See if your little ones can spot our backyard neighbours peeping over the fence right at the beginning. (*Hint, pause at 1 second and in-between my ear and the hanging rope)
@@Simnettnutrition I rewatched the area you mentioned a couple of times but I didn't see them. All them same thank you so much for the reply you are awesome guys keep up the good work!
@@Simnettnutrition omg i see a guy, thats soo funny ahahhaa
Thank you and all of the best to you both!! I am a nurse do life, for me, goes on as usual.....but we all are appreciative of those that spread positive , informed information.....continue to do so!! Take care, all....we can get through this!!
As a nurse in NYC (covid epicenter right now), I thank YOU for helping to brighten my day. Heavy heart
Thank you both for the positive vibes! Here in France we are on lock down. We are only allowed to go out to go grocery shopping or to go to the doctor. We have to fill out an authorization paper each time we go out. It's like living in a movie or a nightmare...I am still working because I'm a pharmacist but the streets of my town are empty. Stay safe everyone
Keep it real. Don't change. Don't doubt in yourself.
This is why you have the number of followers that you do!
Keep it up!
Every new video makes my day!!!!!
Started watching you in 2018 when I went plant based...my third year into being vegan and still a loyal follower!!! I've improved my lifestyle, got rid of my knee pain (dancer injury) and built some muscle and lost inches... going vegan was the best decision I ever made and you made this journey so fun and easy. Thank you for all that you guys do..much love to you and Crystal...stay safe!
I love your channel. You two are so positive, joyful and genuine. Thanks for caring about all of us. I hope you both continue being awesome!
Thank you so much for posting this. It means more than you'd know to see that people you've never met before all around the world are all going through this together.
Quick tip: If there are any Asian or Indian markets near you, they have all the rice and beans! You can get much larger bags for cheaper, help support local businesses, and help relive xenophobia all in one shopping trip!
Hugs to both of you! Stay safe! Keep posting!
Ahh what better thing than cool vegan healthy vibes with Derek and Crystal! Gonna bump up the workouts and the veggies haha
You guys are awesome, and I forgot how much I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for being caring, kind, and compassionate Vegans. I think that’s so important for our movement. Namaste, Val ^-^
France here, we're confined in our homes, I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home for now, shelves are empty and we can't even go out for a jog now. I'm used to working out at home so that helps, hopefully next week I'll be able to buy some food because I did not buy too much because we all need some. Stay safe everyone, thanks for the content and the smiles Derek and Crystal, we can all use some smile right now !
Thank you both for the continued positivity and inspiration! And your extra bit at the end, I work in grocery retail and hearing a "thank you" means so much when it often feels the general public look down on your position.
This was fun!!! And the meal looked great. In Texas we put salsa on everything.
I’m a delivery driver and so is my husband. Often we are not just working paycheck to paycheck, but day to day- so all of this was somewhat nutty to us. It started as a consumer crisis just based on how people apparently even in Canada acted at grocery stores. The good thing for my family is that delivery is in high demand. And the platform that I work with here in Texas is affiliated with our largest grocery store. We are working, and giving back to people in need. People that have self quarantined, seniors that can’t get out, and maybe even ones that are sick. We are doing a lot of drop at the door orders to practice social distancing. It’s been crazy bc this was also my step sons spring break! So his home school hasn’t started yet- although I truly believe he is a gifted kid and I am so thankful that he has tested above his grade level, and I don’t believe he will get behind, no matter how long this lasts.
Also, Sounds like there is a medication that helps it, and it’s rolling out Tuesday. It’s also not a vaccine but an oral pill. It will be interesting to see how the remainder of this mayhem plays out. A few things about this virus are true, the cleaner you are the less it will penetrate you, the healthier you are the easier and better you can fight it- whereas the majority of deaths worldwide are connected to people with pre existing conditions. It’s scary because it can live on surfaces, but the pro is that bleach, soap, alcohol, and even hydrogen peroxide can kill it. I definitely agree that staying home is the best policy. Be clean, eat clean. 💚💚🌿🌿
I am on the west coast of Florida. All non essential business closed. Grocery is limited hours. It feels like a zombie apocalypse, but without the zombies! Thanks for all the great content. Stay healthy and safe 😊
On the Simnett Facebook group after grabbing your E-book and loving all the positivity and dedication everyone in the group has and how much time you take to reply in the group. This man is goals! Looking to start off 2021 with a bang and these videos are definitely going to help me do it!
Love you guys 💚
Love what you bring to the world, so much value to the world. Your peaceful and good vibez are so appreciated at this time 🙏
More videos guys! Especially in this quarantine. Everything is bare, and everything is crazy. Getting as much produce as possible. Trying not to go out unless its necessary.
I hope you guys are well!!
You two are so adorable. Thanks for providing healthy and positive content. Stay safe.
MY FAVORITE VEGAN CZcams COUPLE OF ALL TIME
Thank you for given us a little bit of sunshine in our day during this time
Hi from Philly! Same thing here, only life-saving services open....
just wanted to say thank you for still doing your videos during this time! It gives me some sense of normalcy ❤️
Take care guys 🙏
I’m a home body, so other than not going to the gym, my life hasn’t changed. I’ve found a couple weight lifting videos on CZcams to keep my muscles from shrinking and I still go for walks. The hubby has an “Essential” job, so we are ok for now 🤞🏻🤞🏻...I have well stocked cupboards, fridge and freezer (no hoarding!) and hope to find TP next week. Wish me luck 😮 ...thank you Derek and Crystal for sharing and for the compassionate words. It will all be well soon enough. ♥️🌱♥️🙏🏻 Namaste!
Thank you for keeping us entertained and yes, we after we're all safe from this virus we need to celebrate our hard workers who kept on working for us!
I work as a safety referee at a trampoline park. And when the both of you started jumping together i swear i gasped 😂😂 “Hello, welcome to BounceInc! Please remember to jump ONE AT A TIME ☝🏽 on a trampoline to avoid any double bouncing” has been drilled into my brain 😂😬💛💛
Crystal is adorable and we love seeing her on your videos.
I live in New York state where all non-essential businesses have been mandated to close until further notice. Thankfully, I can telecommute and work for the state university system, so I'm still getting paid. There are a lot of people who are now without a job. Stocked up for about a month and trying to keep a regular schedule. Working out at some point most days and eating healthy. Glad you and Crystal are taking care of yourselves. Thanks for your positivity!
You both bring so much positivity to what you do. I really enjoy watching your videos and am enjoying all the tips and recipes
As a brand new vegan (literally 3 weeks in) I've found that I continue to come back to your channel.
I think this video is the perfect balance of light and fluffy and serious covid-19 scary reality but wrapped in your usual awesome positive vibe ❣ thanks Derek!
LMAO! I loved how you were like "maybe contagious isn't the right word for this" Be safe you guys! :)
I think most of us have the same mindset as you - stock up enough that we can successfully distance ourselves and not have to go to the store every other day, but don't hoard. I think there are fewer panic-buyers than we may think, the problem is just that they panic-buy everything 😖 The toughest thing has been work. My partner and sister both work at grocery stores, which is like being on another kind of frontline. Thankfully, they both are responsible and cautious, sanitizing all the time. All of this craziness is going to reshape the way we live and share this world. I'm doing plenty of yoga and meditation to stay mindful to the fact that we've got an opportunity to learn some important lessons. And also remember not to drown ourselves in fear and dark thoughts, but be a beacon of light to one another as best we can. I love your videos, Derek and Crystal! Self-isolation can also spark a lot of creativity so I look forward to these recipe videos so everyone can share ideas. We'll all be experimenting with dry goods for a while, haha. Sending lots of love up north, from over here in Portland, Oregon! 🥰💗🌹
Crystal!!! ❤️❤️ it’s nice to see you both. We’ve been walking parts of the Mountains to Sea Trail (MST) in North Carolina USA to help us stay sane. These trails are not very popular but are beautiful! I told my husband the other day that we need to order a trampoline for this ordeal.
Yes, get a trampoline! I know, I feel kind of guilty going for walks outside, but I think it is okay as long as you live in a really quiet area.
Simnett Nutrition I wish the MST was as popular as the APT but for now I’m fine that we are the only two walking it 😆 we live out in the countryside anyway, very quiet and not heavily populated in general. Stay safe you two!
Aww, I'm a little envious. It's been a while since I lived in the Santa Cruz mountains, but I hiked that trail weekly year round. Truly a slice of heaven!
smw2828 it’s so beautiful! It deserves more love ❤️
I just walked part of the MST today!!! In Asheville.
Crystal makes every video 10x better
We're over on the the other coast in North Carolina but originally from Bellingham, WA and hope to head back to the West coast soon. Things got crazy here for a bit but the panic buying has slowed way down. Thank goodness!
Btw, my husband is a cancer survivor, has a heart issue, and has been really overweight for a longtime (he's almost 43 now). Sometimes he feels a little down about staying healthy and your vlog really cheers him up. You and he have the same energy. Every time he watches one of your video he immediately want to cook and find more vegan recipes. It's really helped him find hope in health again!
I'm also a health sciences/medical data scientist so if you ever need access to research or data, hit me up! I love supporting good health work.
Hope you and Crystal stay healthy and safe!
Trying to find creative ways to workout at home has been my focus to help get through the day. Great vlog!
Nice! Yah, it's a great time to work on new things and skills.
Check out Minus the Gym's channel if you haven't already. He's WFPB and does callisthenic stuff 😁
Same. Hehe
In New York City, pretty much getting hit the worst in the U.S. because of how massive the city is. Everything is closed down and the streets are deserted, Midtown Manhattan looks like a scene out of a movie.
Just taking it one day at a time, thanks a ton for all the good content man. Hope you and Crystal stay safe yourselves.
Thanks for this video! It's so easy to fall out of routine during these crazy times. Thanks for your workout and food ideas, my 3 year old thought your dinner looked so good and asked me to make it for her. We will be giving it a whirl tonight. Stay safe and keep the vids coming, it's nice to watch something positive for a change! Cheers from Ontario.
Great video Dereck, Keep them coming to keep your fans sane in these hard times.
Hi Derek and Crystal, thanks for continuing to post videos and being so gracious and caring and kind during this difficult time. I'm in Seattle and my living room is my new gym! I went to our local produce stand and bought a case of artichokes. 🤣 stay well!
Four weeks vegan now and you and your channel help(ed) me sooo so much! 😊 Great video, again! Loved that it was a longer one and that Crystal was more involved in front of the camera - switched up the dynamics. 😃 Enjoyed it. Stay healthy. Greetings from Germany. 😊
I live in NY and all businesses are closed except for essential businesses. My husband and I are doing well and trying to stay active either outside or on the treadmill. Our stores are out of all frozen foods and all paper goods! We are vegans and so, luckily we eat a lot of produce which is still in some stores! Hope you all stay well...love your videos!!!
It sounds like it's about the same here in Missouri as you guys, went to the store and just got what we needed and bulk items as well like rice and beans. Thank you for your videos, I find so much inspiration from them and your positive vibes just radiate. I'm glad you guys are doing okay, we're all in this together. Love your channel so much!!
Love your videos (authentic, practical, evidenced-based). I prepared as you all did regarding buying beans and lentils and frozen goods etc. I live in a small town in Alabama where most people do not eat healthy, so the produce shelves are packed full as normal (hope it continues) and the shelves for other things are low. Thanks for sharing your day. I have a bouldering gym in my attic, so I need to go workout now.
I work in a grocery store and honestly, warehouses are doing the best to keep up with demand but there is no knowing when items will arrive and what items will be in our deliveries... the other day, the produce department was also EMPTY! It’s alarming but we are grateful that customers are understanding, for the most part!
Thanks for the video. Good to see familiar faces while isolating at home. The food looks good too. Stay well!
SWEDEN
Thank you Derek and Crystal for motivating me to stay healthy and brightening up my day!
Swedes are born to handle this kind of outbreak. We keep 3 meters away from each other and avoid contact as much as possible already before the outbreak and now we also wash our hands obsessively, we don't meet ealdery people or anyone in the risk group, risk group people also get free home delivery. We work from home if possible. Borders are closed. Gyms are closed, highschools and over are closed and kindergartens are closed for everyone except those parents that work in healthcare or other important professions and we don't have any big gatherings. We don't have a lookdown, but still the streets, cafes and restaurants are emptier than usual or they are closed part of the day and open for delivery. Sweden is supporting businesses that are suffering due to corona. They are building areas to prepare healthcare to be able to care for more infected people. But I am a bit worried that we are to chill about the outbreak, what do you think we should do more?
I really like you guys. I like the relationship you have with each other. Seems like you genuinely enjoy each other :)
In a weird way this event has refocused my knack for vegan cooking, with yawls help of course with your positivity. A quick run to the market to grab a few bits of produce and frozen fruits create a nice challenge to plan, satisfy and preserve. I would usually put too much emphasis on complicated recipes like prepared seitan dishes and laborious roastings of oyster mushrooms or something. You've made me appreciate the simple and delicious flavors of whole foods without going overboard with technique. I especially love the no oil pan frying. Been doing that lately and my god, it leaves so much of the flavor intact . Kudos and keep it coming.
I'm in California between Santa Cruz and Silicon Valley. Schools were shut down a week ago and like you, only essential businesses are open. I can't find toilet paper, but I have plenty to eat because no one is hoarding organic whole food for some reason. One day I couldn't find bananas, but instead of panicking I thought "heck, I never buy mangoes. I'll try some mangoes instead." I found your videos months ago and though I'm not a big commenter, I thought I should tell you that I enjoy your videos. This one was fun. I'd watched several before realizing there was a Crystal. You're a great team. I've been making dressings and sometimes I'll blend with apple for sweetness.
You guys are so real and natural. I really enjoy your channels ❣️❣️👍🙏
I'm in Ecuador at the moment and the situation here is exactly the same as you described. They actually started implementing self-quarantine laws and curfew surprisingly soon, when there was maybe a dozen people infected. Sadly people didn't really take the situation seriously and there are now 500+ cases and the number is still rising.
Thanks for keeping us smiling. Love you both.
Hey Derek you guys are awesome. Thanks for showing us these recipes and also the motivation you provide with each videos. I have always used to have my diet heavy meat based but now with your recipes I have learned to balance it with vegan diets and my health has definitely improved so much and I feel way better. All thanks to you and your lovely lady for motivating me. Stay safe you both.
In small town Ohio, our local grocery store is hustling & bustling for us all. I work at an Assisted Living facility. Part of my job is creating the menu, ordering/picking up/shopping for all the food. Today they all had fresh sliced bell peppers to up their vitamin C! Non-essential visitors are not permitted. New regulations come in every other day. We all definitely need to check in on our elderly neighbors to make sure they have their needs met as they are more susceptible to getting this. They’re truly the greatest generation. (I’m also using it as an excuse to get them to try more nutritious foods! It’s hard shopping for meat & gravy lovers when knowing full well what it’s doing.) I’m just so sorry for the whole world right now, but have faith that we’ll get through this together & be even more grateful on the other side. Thanks for the cheer. I was supposed to go to my very first “Veggfest” tomorrow! Side note: I miss our childhood trampoline.
Thank you for your positivity, it takes me away from the scary things that are happening out in the world right now. In the UK it seems pretty similar to you guys. Groceries are back on the shelves, but restrictions to queueing and store access, trying to use online services where we can. Trying to stay fit and well.. Much love and keep well
Stuck in our little flat here in Paris, so jealous of your back garden. Fully stocked up with vegan goodness. Doing living room workouts as best as I can (no pull though). Super calm outside, and the air smells so fresh compared to usual. Netflix, Nintendo, vegan food, and pushups
Hello from Eau Claire, WI !!! Stores are sparsely packed, but we have toilet paper, so pretty happy about that!! Got the last four roll pack !!😜 I'm super Happy to have stumbled on to your channel! I have been watching for months now and love all of what you two are doing. Thank you for all you guys have shared. This is the first time I've been wfpb in my life (at 55) and I'm loving it!!😇🥰😊 largely because of you guys! Thanks again! Keep them videos coming! 🤟💐💝
I love how you don't measure! That is the wonderful thing about whole food plant based, it's hard to mess it up! And the fixes are easy: a little flaxseed to thicken it!
I have a lot of spare time now with work closed and being stuck at home. So I've taken up sketching, and one of the pictures I drew was Crystal from one of her Instagram posts haha. She's a beauty so it was a pleasureto draw. I encourage bored people to try some art or music!
Let's see it! You should send it to her on Instagram. :D
Thanks for your positivity guys. x
On the island here in Nanaimo. Still going to work at a normal schedule, but about 75% of my workplace is working from home. Reducing my supply trips as well, but unfortunately I find that not a lot of older people are abiding social distancing. Some woman practically elbowed me out of the way getting sweet potatoes at Pomme today. I wish more people would realize that being able to shop in a store right now is a privilege based on the trust that people will behave responsibly. On a positive note I roasted some of that smoked soyganic tofu today in 50% that tahina you recommended and 50% gochujang pepper paste plus seasoning. It came out so tasty in my convection oven. I recommend this highly!
Good job! Both of you str very nice around cool people. I'm smiling watching. Feels like I'm with u both. I can hest crystal laughing.
Watching this on March 19th 2021, almost exactly one year later and remembering that time when things were just crazy with being out of work and everything shutting down. I started getting depressed and let my healthy eating and active lifestyle go by the wayside a bit. Canceled my gym membership due to covid and put on a few pounds. But I held on to healthy habits due to it being ingrained in my life and bounced back and now I’m eating about 90% plant based and the outdoor parks are my gym!
Daar Derek and Crystal,
Thanks for bringing me a bit of light during these dark times. Because I want to give something back, here's an awesome sandwich I recently found out :)
Cucumber sandwich with dates hummus and hot sauce
Toast the slices of bread
Slice the Cucumber and dates (for the dates I use scissors, way les sticky xD).
Put a lot of hummus on a sandwich and top with the cucumber and dates.
Sprinkle some hotsauce on top and put the other slice of bread on top.
There you go! I realy like the combination of the sweetnes of the dates, the spice of the sauce and the crunch of a cucumber.
Stay save and healthy :)
Lots of love from the Netherlands!!
Thanks to both of you! Positive and fun! Be safe!
Love you two, your positive message and your sincerity. Take care from NH!!
Thanks for the fun light and warm video, food looks delicious, please continue bringing joy to the world :)
this situation definitely hit me pretty hard and I haven't been able to find a new routine yet (the anxiety attacks don't help haha) but at least I'm with my parents, in a house with a garden and all the food I need so I really can't complain ! especially when I think of all of the people who still work hard... including youtubers ! I don't know what I would be doing right now without you guys ! thank you for posting during these weird times, it's very much appreciated
Hi from Bangkok! Right now I don't go outside as much as I'd like to so your video was a ray of sunshine! We're social distancing at the moment and I'm freelancing from my apartment. I might try to go out in the morning to the local park for some long walks and to get some sun (and human interaction!). Thanks for the video and good laughs. Keep them coming!
Love you guys, you're always an inspiration with your positivity and energy! And yummy food! 😋
Keep well.
Love you guys! Thanks for giving us your time and positive energy!
Hi from the mountains of Arizona, US! We just had snow so your weather looks balmy and spring like! My husband and I are staying home as much as possible and practicing social distancing. More time to cook a little more elaborate vegan dishes. I always enjoy your vids for the mix of recipes and flavors. Love the flaxseed in the salad dressing for thickening. I've been making more of my own sauces and dressings and some have been a bit runny so now I know what to do! Thanks for perking up our days with your vid style and tips and tricks for a healthy and fun vegan life! 🤸♀️🍆🥜👍
Great to get a break from the News and watch another awesome Simnet video! Thanks for keeping it real guys! I’m in Hong Kong, just got home from NYC this morning, have a week off now before my next excursion into the craziness. Thanks for the inspiration to help get through this tough time!!
I'm a nurse and already exhausted. Thanks for the positivity and reminder to stay healthy
