- This episode of 40K Lore for Newcomers begins our look at the Warhammer 40K timeline, starting from the ancient past up until the 30th millennium.
NOTE: This is a brief overview of the timeline and as such not every single event will be covered or mentioned. As such, only those events we view as being more significant will be touched upon otherwise this video will be several hours long.

Anyone ever think that the Necrontyr and the Ctan saw the shit the Old Ones were doing in the immaterium and knew what would come from it? The Space Toads just did what ever the fuck they wanted, and fuck anyone else. Perhaps the war in Heaven was a preemptive attempt to stop those silly fucks from creating the warp, but it horribly backfired?

I could be wrong but I was under the impression the eldar empire shattered with the birth of slaanesh and her birth screams created both the eye of terror and begun the age of strife.

@@emilecook4319 yeah that's what I thought, and with its end the unification wars began and immediately after the great crusade began and treaty of Mars was signed and we all know what happened next (horus heresy and current events)
It did, he made a mistake
The Fall of the Aeldari Empire and creation of the Eye occurred with the 'birth' of Slaanesh, but the Age of Strife occurred due to Slaanesh's gestation within the Warp. It was due to the increase in warp storms occurring as a result of the god taking form that separated the human colonies from one another, and began driving people insane.
The events of The Fall marked the end of the Age of Strife, and the birth of Slaanesh calmed the warp "It's rage and anger temporarily spent", making it safe enough to travel again and allowing the Emperor to launch the Great Crusade.

There has to be something broken with the Necrontyr to see a team killing, murdering psycohpath called the Nightbringer and think "we have to get with some of that".
I absolutely love mythology that feels like it ties in with reality somehow.

Anywhere you want. The galaxy of the 41st Millennium is so vast, I'd recommend finding whatever looks coolest to you and then reading from there.

Thanks for sharing this video with us. Many can use the 40k timeline as the back stories for any characters they wish to create, from the lost Space Marine Legions to unknown Craftworlds, Negron Tombworlds, and the like.

I never played any war hammer or anything but one of my star wars pages compared the FTL drives from different universes and omg I had to learn about the lore when I found out how chaos in the warp works.

a few things
1. Eldar are born of the old ones to fight the Necron, and the warp begins to change. corrupting the neutral beings of the warp eventually giving rise to the 3 chaos gods. prior to this it is noted that the work was neutral.
2. the Necron defeat the old ones with the ctan and the malignant warp entities of the old ones own creation, but are to weakened to fight the Eldar. so the Necron sleep until the Eldar fall.
2. chaos is jailed in the warp by the old ones or the Eldar.
3. the Eldar fall into sadistic excess. a few seeing the path this will lead, join and create the craftworlds trying to turn their kin from the dark path. Many of the craftworlds leave the home worlds of the Eldar.
4. absorbing all this sadistic psychic energy Slaneesh is born. the main worlds of the eldar are absorbed by the warp explosion including craftworlds that did not get far enough away. trillions of Eldar die having there souls eaten by Slaneesh, some become demonettes, old night begins.
5. ironically the most sadistic and cruel worlds of the Eldar remain protected in the warp, Cammoragh. technically slanneesh was born of the dark eldar.
read jain zars book and the pheonix lords stuff, has alot of information of pre-humanity and the fall.

anyway, I love this necron lore plus the whole "prehistory". You got some awesome wallpapers there for the necrons. I don't know why but this mysterious history is so fascinating!

What was so special about the battle of Molek that the Emperor wiped the Primarchs' mind and he didn't do so for the erasure of the 2 lost legions?

I'm not new to 40k, but I recognize my lack of detailed I formation, so I really enjoyed it. So, to thoughts, I think if I were to fall pray to chaos, i te would be slansesh, and, if the Emperor is so powerful, as to make the legions kneel, why then did He not crush and absorb the squats and the Mechanicum? The mechanicum makes sense I. resources time, and it was more fruitful for cooperation. The squats on the other hand....

21 beings? i mean, alpharius and omegon are twin brothers. meaing they're two people, said to have one soul but still 2 beings. at one point in the horus heresy omgeon seems to be working against alpharius orders, meaing they can make their own decisions. sorry for my bad english im not a native english speaker.

Is there any mention in the lore about any of the Primarch's having kids? Or any attempts of straight up breeding Astartes? I know that most battle brothers lead monastic lifestyle to ward off temptations of the flesh and the predations of the warp, but there's got to have been some Primarch/Spacemarine babies running around somewhere.
