This reminds me, some time ago I read a fan lore that reinterpreted one of the lost primarchs as a bearer of the pariah gene. Being a primarch, his "anti-warpness" was on the same power level than an Omega psyker and the result was... chilling to say the least.
In the tale, after causing a lot pain to the chaos gods in the warp he landed on a planet more or less like current day Earth and taken into custody by the local government. However, his power rapidly increased and began to affect the people around him, destroying their minds and essentiallyturning them into vegetables. Eventually he broke free and went on a voyage from city to city, unaware of his effect on the people. The native humans, unaware of this and thinking it was some sort of epidemic disease then began to bombard each other.
By the time the Emperor found him, already an adult, he had wiped out every inteligent life form in the planet without even trying.
According to the tale, the pariah gene made the legion a very effective force, since their enemies couldn't face them without suffering serious brain damage and their battles were little more than target practice.
But since their presence was (Understandably) abhorred by every other human, even the primarchs and the Emperor, he decided to take all his astartes and run away to some unknown section of space before the Horus Heresy began.

Of all their final fates, Rogal Dorn's is the most underwhelming. He just got rushed by a gang, but there's so many stories of primarchs being completely untouchable by even large numbers of Astartes and slaying terminator squads with ease it makes you think there must be more to this. Maybe chaos was involved somehow.

Well, after some years of watching those videos and reading books I still consider myself a newcommer too.
There are still things that can genuinely suprise my. And thats the amazing thing about W40k universe.
Slightly correction:
At roughly 10:50, instead of "uniting all people under a single banner" it should say: "Going *really* fast".
Considering history still remembers Horus, I wonder what level of hell the forgotten two primarchs had to do to get scrubbed from history.

one is called "The Lost" and the other "the Purged" i have a therory that they killed each other. the Purged being corrupted by Chaos or subverted by the Tau's Greater Good. and the Lost being slain while killing his brother. but being "lost" as part of a cover up to prevent further corruption ofthe Imperium
We can discount the Tau out of hand from that theory I'm afraid, since around the time of M30 they were still banging rocks together and chewing on femurs.

I was under the impression that Corax was found after both the lost and the purged due to Corax asking the Emperor how his could be the nineteenth legion if he had only seventeen brothers. The Emperor sadly told him it was a story for another time. Do I have this wrong?
I think that it means that the 2nd Primarch was already dead by the time the Emperor found Corax.

Deathcoldan Humanity’s ancient gods, if real, would be weak and insignificant since, in 40k a “God’s” presence in the warp is linked to its level of worship either direct or indirect. The chaos gods were fed on the backs of millions or even billions of Eldar and the war in heaven with the Old ones . Humanity during pagan times was far too small to contribute any significant deity to the warp.

What would be a primarch’s opinion on a sensei? Would they view them as a brother, a fool, a rival or something else? Given some sensei do worship the “Star child”, which is theorized to be the emperor when his mortal form is killed off, will the sensei play a major role in the future of 40k since their disappearance from new lore or will they be struck as into the void that is mystery and fan theories?
Would be an interesting topic wouldn't it? ;)

Aaaaah, the Primarchs... Big E's single greatest achievement and biggest mistake at the same time. Even now questions linger. Questions such as "If Lion El'Jonson comes back into the picture whose side will he *actually* take?"
Personally I like to think that the whole mess on Caliban was an enormous messy miscommunication, with both Fallen and Unforgiven actually being broadly 'loyalist'. Let's face it, the Primarchs were generally speaking far from perfect in their own special ways, and Cypher has given us reason to believe that the Fallen actually do have the best interests of Humanity at heart even after all this time. Perhaps they and the Alpha Legion have something going on behind the scenes? Sorry; Fallen, Alpha Legion AND the Ynnari. Humanity and Aeldari both have a lot to gain from each other at this point, what with the Eye of Terror and trying to stop Chaos from eating everyone, both figuratively and literally.
MrMortull like Magnus and Russ, they were puppets of fate and set against the other by hungry gods. All it takes is one heretic to make an entire legion fall.

...It occurs to me that if the Emperor had just held off on his big Webway Project thing for another decade or three and actually, you know, *been a father* to the latecomer Primarchs for a while, things would have gone a lot better. I mean Horus only got Chaos'd because of a conspiracy of little shits who were mostly not even Primarchs in the end. Surely if the big guy had just sheperded his sons' souls a little better towards the end everything would have gone a lot better.
And I mean what's thirty or so years to him? More haste less speed, Emps.
MrMortull it didn’t make sense to expect the same level of expansion without him. Another way of looking at it is he was working on improving the Imperium’s infrastructure. Shame he didn’t think to invite Perturabo or Magnus to help in its construction and development. They were never suited to the battlefield. Like Lorgar.
In the end, he created his own worst enemies and didn’t keep his family close. Always at an arms distance... but that’s how a craftsman usually treats his tools.

I have a question for you- sorry, everyone probably knows this but I don’t- where does the artwork of the Emperor and all of the Primarchs come from? I’ve seen it in a million and six CZcams videos over the past year- and I have a pretty large collection of Warhammer books, Codices, art and sketch books- and yet that beautiful black and white picture has not appeared in a single one of them. Just an idea, "What if the Emperor listened to Malcador the Sigilite's advice of making female primarchs?". Like 10 primarchs will be sons and the other 10 will be daughters. Just a thought though.

Let the fanfictin keep piling up. But seriously I really hope they really do keep it open and ambiguous because the option and ability to homebrew is definitely one truely awesome part about it. Just saying that they just died unceremoniously seems like a bit of a cop out in my honest opinion

Guilliman and the Lion got on as well as anyone can with the distrustful Lion and Guilliman says in Dark Imperium that he wishes he had the company of one of his (loyal) brothers. So he'd try and wake him up, I guess.
I might be misremembering here, but back in the day, when I played 2nd edition 40K, I thought there was only 12 Primarchs. Am I wrong or did the GEoM find some more down the back of the sofa at some point?
