  • Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has sent shockwaves across the globe. However, the move has become a cause of worry for two Asian nations, Japan and South Korea. South Korea fears that Putin’s adventure in Ukraine could embolden Kim Jong Un. Meanwhile, Japan fears, it will be Putin’s next target after Ukraine. This is also evident from the fact Russia conducted military drill on the disputes islands.

It's pretty much the end of the war, and the world for that matter if it's come to actually using nuclear weapons in 2022 onward. They're just too powerful and it would be almost impossible to just use one or two and not receive an inevitable U.S. nuclear response that they couldn't then respond back to again and again. Up until that point, it's just conventional warfare. Russia has recently demonstrated that they're not very good at that at least when it comes to any enemy that can fight back with anything more than an AK and it's own ancient soviet era equipment. It's done well against Chechnya, Georgia, Syria etc because they all just use their own homemade old generation gear. I agree. The emboldenment argument is silly and contrary to actual history. What works is sticking a threat under his nose and then shaking his hand. He got to walk on the world stage and he needs that to survive. Once it passed and once Trump was no longer in power, he started up with posturing again. He was also fortunate that Trump had two other wars to deal with, which took the heat off of him. Trump also had the eradication of ISIS as a trophy as well, and he did not need to turn to see whether the DPRK was a big enough menace to consider doing the same. There is always a second term...

The population of Japan and South Korea is approximately that of Russia and North Korea, but both are richer and far more technologically advanced. Putin and Kim's irresponsible aggressions are recklessly provoking both Japan and Germany. Both are now resuming rapid militarisation and abandonment of their post WW2 pacifist constitutions. They should refrain from pulling these tigers tails, or risk being ripped to shreds. Japan easily subjugated Korea in WW2, and Russia would not have withstood Germany, had it not been fighting on several fronts, nor Japan were it not at the end of WW2. Don't presume for a moment that the outcomes would be the same today. Russia has been shown in Ukraine to be far from a real Super Power. North Korea, a tiny country of 25m backward, repressed people is nothing but a yapping dog, with its powerful friend at its back. Putin and Kim risk a global war which no country could possibly survive. As Einstein said, WW3 will be fought with nuclear weapons. After that, any further wars would be fought with sticks and stones.

Vladivostok should be quite relieved that the fallout from their destruction would contaminate Japanese soil. Khabarosk has no such advantage.
    2. The DPRK has always reacted to global instability with sabre rattling. The current situation is no different. It is in their playbook, and is directed at regime survival, particularly against any internal interests in toppling the dynasty. The Soviets broke this Treaty and attacked, one day after the US dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima, the Japanese in Manchuria where they committed atrocities. They took 300,000 Japanese military and civilians to the Siberian labor camps where 50,000, Japanese government estimates, died. According to the Russian government, 60,000 of them died. In August 1945, the Japanese government officially surrendered. However, the Soviets ignored the surrender and kept attacking, and killing the Japanese military and civilian personnel, until they captured the four Kuril Islands.
During the San Francisco Peace Treaty, the Soviet government did not sign the Treaty because the Allies did not include the four Kuril Islands as Soviets'. As a result, Russia still occupies the Islands to this day illegally.

Again thanks to the American Propaganda machine, that is believed to be the case..!
One of the conditions for the USA to join the allies in WW2 was that they wanted the unfettered rights to use the A-bombs... of course NOT in Europe but JAPAN...!
USA knew that Japan would NOT surrender until their last citizen fell..!
The Japanese revered their Emperor who incidently is also divine and USA still insisted that Japan surrenderes unconditionally and that their monarchy system be dismantled ie that they give-up their Emperor..!
Good excuse to drop the A-bombs, yeah..!
Anyway, the only reason that USA agreed to "Japan terms on their Monarchy" &. the only reason that Japan surrendered was because the Soviet army was coming...!
USA did NOT want to share Japan with anyone especially the Soviets (who incidentlly was also their ally)...!
The Russians have already arrived in the Korean Peninsula and there is nothing for them..!
USA had infuriated the Soviets and that is the start of "the Cold War"..!
USA wanted to unilatetally take over both GERMANY & JAPAN..!
      WHY..?
Imagine all that technology and machinery and Science that, would overnight transform USA into the NEW FORMIDABLE WORLD LEADER...!
USA had already lost, part of Germany..!
Imagine again ..! This was a country that did not want to get their dirty while one by one country fell to both Germany & Japan...!
USA told Churchill that they were safe in their own continent..!
There are a good many things before the advent of the INTERNET, that has been throughly manufactured to serve the interest of only a few...!
Even the Jewish holocaust was part of another bigger conspiracy ...!
The atrocities suffered and performed on the good ordinary Jewish people were SATANIC & CRUEL IN THR EXTREME, to say the least...!
But such atrocities and experiments were also suffered & conducted on other communities...!
The Chinese had it terrible BUT their ordeals were down-played by the Western media & propaganda machines..!
What if the Jewish people knew the full TRUTH about whose idea it was for the "JEWISH HOLOCAUST" and the reasons for it. ...??
ONE DOES NOT NEED TO LOOK TO RELIGION TO FIND THE DEVILs. & HELL...??
They are all around us, they live amongst us AND they are us, Today, they are lead by us (I mean the country US & their cronies )..! 🙏🤣
      CHEERIO...!!

Thank you for clarifying that Russia's Ukraine invasion has become a very serious matter in the world. As we hold our breath and hope peace will soon return, it now seems like this is not Russia and Ukraine's war anymore. It is our war too because we will be sharing it's consequences for years to come.

Japan must have the forces required to make the idea of invasion to costly. That probably means they need the capability to conduct military operations outside their borders. As long as those military operations are not Putinesque all is good ;)

@@GnosticAtheist Japan does not need the ability to conduct a war of aggression, just keep the ability to repel an invader. And Japan has state-of-the-art defensive technology.

Correction: North Korea is not Russia, nor is South Korea Ukraine. If anything it is the opposite: South Korea is 40 times bigger than North Korea, economically, and much stronger militarily as well.

Total support for my brothers in Japan. A stick in some body's house can't defend you from snakes in your own house.
Russia' strategy is wider than Ukraine. It's interest is to become a regional bull which is not bad but the consequences to the neighboring countries where it might have interests at any time of it's wish.
Better to act now or never.
