The real reason Absinthe is dangerous is because it is often bottled at ABVs as high as 90%, and its the sort of thing people drink right at the end of the night when they're feeling invincible, putting them from "fucked" to "alchohol poisoned"
Anyone who tells you they got halucinations off absinthe is a liar, there's no chemical reason you would halucinate from drinking it.
