  • My thoughts on the new Hisense L9G Laser TV. With its trichroma laser system, 3000 lumens, great color accuracy, low input lag, and 4K @ 120hz support, could it be the best Laser TV out there? I'll be reviewing both the Samsung Premiere LSP9T, Vava Chroma, and a LSP9T vs L9G video next so be sure you're subscribed so you get notified when I upload new videos.

    I have just been been informed by Hisense that the DLP system is actually limited to 60hz so the input lag is not reduced to 16ms with 4K@120 as I assumed in the video.

    • @ollym990
      @ollym990 Před 2 lety +10

      Confused here. If it's limited to 60Hz, how on earth can it be advertised as being 120Hz? Isn't that blatant false advertising?

      Couldnt find any 120 Hz support on there Website, is it a 120 Hz beamer or not ?

      does this mean that it supports 120hz at only native resolution of the panels?

    • @qtt666
      @qtt666 Před 2 lety +8

      THIS PROJECTOR DOESN'T SUPPORT 4K@120HZ
      Edit: It has HDMI 2.1 ports so it can accept input from a 4K@120Hz source, however the projector has a max output of 4K@60Hz

    Hey Chris, thanks so much for the review on the L9G as I love seeing Hisense making improvements on new units. I bought the L5F in June based on your video and have been very happy with it but wondering what were some of the settings you used to squeeze out every drop of picture quality as I've not found anything on the web to help. I have a room similar to yours with windows so was wondering about daytime and nighttime setting as I've primarily just use the presets.

    Great review as always. I compared it to the review for the Hisense 5 and was interested to note that you don't rate the black levels on the 9 in a dark room. But you seemed to say they were OK on the 5? I'm sure the 9 is brighter with better colour etc but the black levels need to be as good as they can be on a DLP (so not too grey) in order to justify a purchase. It seems the Hisense5 does better in this regard? Thanks

    If LG built 100" rollable 4K oled TVs for the same price of 100/150" screens+laser short throw projectors then this technology would be short-lived. Now I think it's easier to design 8K laser projectors. Waiting for a review of the JVC DLA-NZ7.

Would be particularly interested to hear your assessment using the same 100" screen that comes with the Hisense for both of them (I know the Samsung LSP9T can do a 130" screen but would be curious to see if it is better than the Hisense on it's own 100" screen). please do a side by side comparison between 0.47" and 0.66" DLP chip UST projectors, in particular their black level and contrast performance. I have been using a 0.47" DLP chip UST projector for almost 3 years and the only thing I am not happy about it is its poor black level (too greyish, the poor contrast making the overall video looks flat). Have been thinking whether it is worth upgrading to a 0.66" machine. Many thanks

    • @gamingfunfacts
      @gamingfunfacts Před 2 lety

      Yes I would be interested in that as well. Till now I always thought that the 0.47“ DMD USTs are inferior to 0.66“ like the Samsung and LG. My comparisons always show worse details in dark scenes and also worse black levels on generals. The less detail in dark scenes was always a problem for me. The Samsung is currently the best UST in IMHO.

    As an owner of two UST projectors [Xiaomi Pro, and Optima 5600], I concur that it's really tough to find color accuracy, black levels, input lag, and throw distance in a projector. I was disappointed to hear the Hisense projector lack throw distance. Plus the cost is insane. The Chinese brands are very competitive in features, but half the cost.

      I might be getting it wrong but isn't Hisense a Chinese brand as well?

      What do you mean by throw distance

      @@BlueAngel7667 Throw Distance is ratio from the projector to the screen to achieve the desired image sized. "UST" stands for ultra short throw. My projector can throw a 100 inch image from just 10 inches away from the screen. So it's throw distance is .10
