    The Hisense PX1-Pro is the latest 4k laser TV from Hisense and appears to be a better version of the Hisense L9G. The specs make it seem as if it's inferior but the test results tell a different story.

    Purchased the L9G after watching your video on it and couldn’t be happier. Since the PX1 is very similar I will hold off on upgrading at least until the throw ratio and black levels are improved.

    Thanks for the video. I'll wait for a sale to buy one. One thing extra about this is that you can connect them in series to make twice or possible 3 times the size/ width. A lot of money to spend but this is rarely mentioned. Mentioned in a CZcams from a convention of sorts. Thank again.

    Great video as usual. I will have to seriously consider this as an upgrade on my Sony WVP HW-50ES ceiling projector which has served me well for 9 years. I have a dedicated cinema room (no windows) and a 120" 16:9 ration 1:1 gain projector screen.
    Would I need to invest in a dedicated CLR screen or is mine likely to be sufficient in a completely darkened room?

  • @chrismiller3519
    @chrismiller3519 Před 2 lety +15

    The max lumens rating on a projector is not generally for the most accurate picture mode. More people need to learn this - a brightness spec isn't the end all for USTs. Great work, as always, Chris!

    • @chrisbullock6477
      @chrisbullock6477 Před 2 lety +1

      Just fyi there is a lumens chart in the google search that shows what Lumens brightness is in comparison to Nits depending on the projection size. With an UST its going to be even greater because of the closeness to the wall. for a screen size between 90inches to 130inches you would be looking at anywhere between 800-950Nits.

    • @robertplas3947
      @robertplas3947 Před rokem

      My understanding of lighting is that lumens is a measurement of light emitted by a source and nits is a measurement emitted or reflected by a source. So UST projector can output lumens while the reflected light back to our eyes would be nits. An oled tv sends light to our eyes measured in nits.

    Great Review Chris. I've been watching a ton of your reviews on laser TVs. I opted to order this Hisense PX1-pro over the formovie theater because I could only find one vendor selling it, and I wasn't sure about support/warranty issues, with it being such a small company. Will this work with the Hisense 100 inch screen that comes with the L9 in a living room with some sunlight. We can close the blinds but we don't want blackout shades if that's possible.

    I need you to review the AWOL UST projector, I am rocking it atm and by far one of the best I've ever had. It does allow you to go from 80"-150",it also has 3500 lumens which is great esp in my living room with 2 skylights and a set of triple windows. The game mode gets it to 30ms which has been good so far I haven't had any issues , the only downfall I feel is it doesn't have a built in smart features like the built in apps but they do give you a external device that hides really nice in there patent hidden case in the back. Overall I will not ever be going back to a tv after having this..... Great vid by the way this was my other option to look to buy before I got the AWOL

    Hey Chris! Great review as always. I literally just bought the Hisense L9G from Best Buy last week while it was on sale for $4200 and have yet had the time to open it. Based on this review, I am now considering returning the L9G for the PX1-Pro as they seem to be about the same in terms of performance. My wife and I are turning our basement into a Home Theater and were having trouble deciding between the 120in and 100in versions fo the L9G... but this PX1-Pro seems to settle that issue with the manual focus. Not sure how I feel about the screen not being included as that will have me break even, $$$. Professional opinion... if you could exchange the L9G for the PX1-Pro, without any hassles, would you?

    Love your content . Somehow , I got the impression you didn’t give your complete endorsement for the PX1 ? The 60hz refresh rate issue and other things you mentioned ‘could be better ‘ seem like it means they refurbished the L9G with a pixel shifting tech , and thus the loss of Lumens? I personally can’t understand how the projectors only have 2 HDMI ? My OLED has 4 .. I need 1 for speakers, 1 for games , 1 for Apple TV , and the last for an NVIDIA source for true 4K movies .. why can’t we get a decent laser tv with at least 3 HDMI , with 1 for 4K at 120hz , native 3860 x 2160 , contrast same as the PX1, with the screen size adaptable 90” - 130” ? This looks like the same thing as the Bomaker Polaris (which uses Hisense as their OEM). The only differences I see are 2500 lumens vs 2200 and HDMI 2.1 vs 2.0 though I have also read this projector is limited to 60hz despite being HDMI 2.1 and accepting the signal, also slightly better speakers and Android TV, but seeing this, the Bomaker Polaris seems like the better deal priced at $2000 or so.

    Thanks Mr Majestic. What this tells me at 3500 bucks and being slightly better than a significantly more expensive model from a year ago, that it's going in the right direction. Soon Laser TVs of a very good quality will be 2500 bucks, maybe another 2 or so years. Can't wait for that saturation to bring those prices down!

    • @greenjelly01
      @greenjelly01 Před 2 lety +1

      It is not "significantly more expensive" when you consider that you have to pay separately for the screen.

    • @ChrisMajestic
      @ChrisMajestic  Před 2 lety +4

      The px1-pro is on sale right now for $3000. The average screen costs around $1000. That’s still significantly less than the 100l9g’s introductory msrp and you were stuck with one screen size. Pricing will only go down from here.

    If you had a LG HU85LA, would you sell it and buy this Hisense PX1-Pro to replace it? Issues I see with LG - Reds seem over saturated and difficult to get colors to appear appropriately. HDR content seems really dark and hard to lighten without washing out the picture. The new batman movie was almost unwatchable in HDR.
