Spine-tingling retro boomer shooter action with NO jumpscares
This is a gemmy video no coal in sight!
The funny thing about making videos on the party is, once you interact with it your comments will now be forever cursed with people saying things like this and they will always be the top comments no matter how unrelated the video is

Wonder what our dear boy Cliffy B was saying. His fall off musta changed him up to some degree.
It bums me out because I legit enjoyed Lawbreakers, even more than Overwatch.

Glad they got Gman in this
Your vids are great as always Nerd
Does this documentary mention the unknown fps called XS from 1996? It was not only the first to feature the two guns at a time, but predates Quake 3 and UT featuring AI bots in arenas, it wasn't well received at the time but it's literally the first arena shooter full of neat ideas (no replenishable health, only one life then game over).
I made, months ago, a Little review video about it hoping to make People aware of its existence.
That sounds really interesting. I am gonna look more into XS
@@atifarshad7624 i really hope that game will, one day, be recognized properly.
Cool idea, but a digital documentary (+ useless digital tat) for 50 stater buckers is steep.
Yeah, I'd imagine Tim Sweeney and Gabe Newell would be hard to get interviews with, but did they talk about Unreal 1? That game defined my teenhood, and Unreal Tournament was probably the game I played online most of all. Though, now days I play U1 online more because there are some awesome servers that mod it and it is awesome. Especially that one Christmas map.
Nothing like the beautiful serenade of Infinite Space (conclusion) to go with a ShreddedNerd review
they need a part 2 for past 2010 games
Plenty of documentaries about trash already exist.
They covered a handful of recent games like some of the New Blood titles and that was just to bring up the new renaissance of 'boomer' shooters.
I love contra and Woofenstein! But its already past 5:40 Bimmy!
wassup big dawg how you feeling about the recent MCC updates
Was there a good talking about Serious Sam, Painkiller and F.E.A.R. games??
And maybe even XIII? Because i see it and Painkiller at 0:16.
Is there a DRM for this documentary, or I just get to download a file?
lol the under the mayo video
Room for a sequel could cover other aspects too
Any mention of the Marathon Trilogy in this documentary?
it appears that there is no standalone documentary only available for purchase, and until then, the cheapest edition costs $99 :(
My hecking retro fps 😮😮 so hecking cool!!

I’m watching this documentary with my classic doom guy funko pops! Sooooo noystalllllgicccc
@@DarklordMcsweetTeaSipperOh my science! Is that a faucing funkopop!
It makes sense it would focus on the earlier years, as these are the ones that formed the genre and really set in stone the west's love affair with this particular genre - sort of like the early 8-bit/16-bit period set in stone the east's love for RPG's. You could talk about the newer games, but their influence (even if they're great) would be far less.
Where can I watch this documentary? Thanks
looks good, does it cover mods?
How much they pay you to make this advert
is there any serious sam in it? as a balkan nationalist i have pride for that game since it is croatian
Unironically what is the appeal of SS? The gameplay seems like its only for autists and Deserts are only pretty for so long and the enemies look genuinely retarded and Sam himself is an unfunny autistic loser who never actually gets anything done and has yet to actually save the world. Do i have to be Croatian to get it? If i wanted a musou i could just play one or ninja gaiden 2 or painkiller

I am into boomer shooters , thats all i play these days because they are cheap short instead of ubisoft 40 hours of copy paste and they run on everything. I cant wait for the full release of turbo overkill and now you got my friendly neighborhood and bloodhound and herald of havoc and trepang2, even less known boomer shooters like carnal and zortch maximum and devilated, or mods like amc tc and ashes 2063, so i know what i am talking about.
I am not interested in seeing this documentary because i dont think that seeing it will fix anything, i dont think it will provide some insight and unlock some hidden knowledge how to make games better. Most of game development when it comes to making games better is not some unique trick but things just clicked late in development and it just worked. It was the same with thief and doom 2016, things clicked together near the end. The reason games suck now is because entertainment sucks now, most of what boomer shooters did was copying popular action movies at the time. In this video you can see that this always happened because a bunch of people got together for fun and did what they liked, they just copied what was popular at the time and put it into games, the eraser railgun, action scenes from hard boiled or matrix, the entirety of duke nukem is 80s and early 90s movies and blood is copying horror movies. The elevator in half life is from akira, etc etc. In the same way modern culture which is objectively worse influences developers eg trepang 2 has a back rooms section. Mw2 instead of being over the top like the original is toning things down and is inspired by a netflix tv show called narcos.
Speaking of which the mw1 and 2 weapon animations are copied by atomic heart even though the game is set in the soviet union so it makes no sense to have modern animations. Speaking of which that game has weird dialogues, people claim thats because its originally russian and makes more sense in russian, but no, its just cringy millennial reditor dialogues like borderlands that characters keep talking without saying anything of value to fill the dead air, ironic how a russian game would have western modern millennial writing but i suppose thats globalism for ya. The part that they talk about robosexuality in the soviet union....lmao or the blue haired scientist, is she gonna lecture me on my white privilege? Or how the main character has a modern haircut while every other character has a haircut of that era. Basically its a modern game with western sensibilities like every other game out there and its mediocre. This is what caused people to go back, listening to retrowave an attempt to replicate 80s music and make retro throwback boomer shooters or pixel art, essentially returning to an era that entairtinament is good trying to replicate that era that millennials remember with bright colors. In fact the previous documentary they made was about 80s movies. So i have no interest in watching because i doubt i will get some devine knowledge how to fix modern videogames, in fact in this documentary they didnt really touched them at all and we all know what happens when some developer criticizes elden ring on twitter for not being like the games they make, they get attacked.
Things are bleak and as time passes the new generation grows up in low quality trash redditor mental masturbations with soy faces larping as entairtinament and art. Perhaps its better with drugs or its fun if you are one of the said cringe redditors who made it with his friends or should i say her/them friends since they are all trans and non binary cringelords now, but for the average person, well they would rather go watch top gun maverick instead of this low quality redditor cringe and as time passes things will deteriorate and get worse, so me watching this documentary will be depressing and wont share an insight on how to fix modern entertainment, it will just make good video games seem even more of a bygone era.
Hey, at least we're not speaking German, right?!
