I just wanted to thank you for this amazing video! I am a single mum with two 10 years old kids, our boiler stopped working for couple of days, I tried to ask someone to come and have a look but I couldn’t afford! Last night, we had to cuddle up each other to keep warm! 🥺, I came home today thinking let’s look at CZcams how to fix a boiler! I followed your video and it started to work! Thx again! I know maybe loads of people know how to fix these things but so many like me don’t! Again thank you!
Thank you both. I had new meters fitted today, and all seemed ok, but when I returned home, no pressure. Your video has me up and running.
No problem Maggie.
This worked. There are instructions on the inside of the casing but due to brain damage they are hard to understand and follow. This video did it perfectly. Found the two taps beneath the boiler, turned them on, though cannot find the gauge, only a heating gave. No matter, it worked. Many, many thanks.;
No problem 😊
thank you dereton33 and you young lady wife. i had just bled my radiators, i went to refill and a bit of water started dripping from a tap so i stopped. this is a great video sir, having us talked and showed how its done thank you both. 👍👍👍👍
Great job!
Easiest video on here to follow with clear instructions.I thought I was going to have to make a call out to a plumber.Saved my sanity and my money. Thank you!
Pleased to have helped you out Gabby.
Thank you so much for this incredible video, it saved me from calling out a plumber because there was no heating or hot water. For a minute I became the plumber 😃😃😃. I am very grateful indeed.

Omg thank you very much. I used to stay for a week without heating waiting for the landlord to send someone.Watched alot of videos but this one was easily explained, thank you.
You are very welcome
I could listen to your voices all day. Something very calming about them.
Ha ha, thanks Jonathan.
yeah--pity it's like a roller coaster--UP, then WAY DOWN. I gave up.
Just to let you know this video is still helping people out four years later 👍
That`s great Matt.
thank goodness for CZcams, but more so, thank you ever so much for your video! you've just saved my sanity and the boiler from getting slapped with a brick! You're a gent and a scholar! xxx
Thank you glad to have helped.
Saved to the extremely useful videos library haha! Great job both, just one of the troubleshooting steps to do when getting your boiler back online! Thanks!
Thanks Jan, I've just fixed my boiler as it showed initially F1 code and had no idea how to fix it. your video was very helpful to sort out the low water pressure.
No problem
Jane you are a life saver, we took all the air out the radiators and lost pressure to the boiler, we then watched loads of video and found no useful tips on how to sort it. We then come across your video and connected the pipes and put loads more water in the system and guess what we have heating 😅,
No problem.
Thank you so much, this video really helped me I called my local housing my little was sick and they weren't willing to help me but your video really really helped me.You should definitely keep it up with the videos! Many thanks!
+Fatima Awad thanks

Well done Jan, my I-mini 24 lost pressure, now pressure up again 👍
That`s great. We ladies can do it.
Another cold night prevented, thanks for making this excellent video, 3 cheers!

Thanks for the helpful tips...made us chuckle that the dog was having a good old scratch outside the back door!
She is a character.
Steady now!!,You could find yourself redundant hanging in the shed with the other tools !!,Only to be let out when there`s a bit DIY to be done,A very informative vid for the ladies.
Thanks so much! We just bought a new house and the hot water suddenly stopped - this fixed it!
You're welcome!
Brilliant! Thank you so much we now have hot water and heating without getting the plumber out :)
No problem.
Great teamwork.
Thanks
Thank you so much Jan. Heating and hot water all working again thanks to this vid.
No problem.
the filling loop on your boiler is easy to understand, I have a GloWom boiler which has a built in filling loop which has a central cut off up and down valve and two side valves which are difficult to turn the central cut off always has me foxed.
Lovely presenters, Useful tips, well delivered! Subscribed!!! Thank you :)
+Kirill Sharikov Thank you.
Thank God for this video. Saved the day!!
You're welcome!
Thank you, excellent advice, saved me a lot of hassle
No problem.
Thank you so much for the video....very helpful
Thanks you make a great team 👍
Cheers Colin.
Please remember folks, if your boiler pressure is dropping on a regular basis (monthly) topping it up all the time will introduce oxygenated water into the system more than it is required. Only top up your boiler pressure a few times a year, if its more than that getting an engineer out could save you alot of money in the long haul.
Thank you I just bled our radiators for the winter and had an F1 code appear (water pressure low) I had no clue how to do this great video
No problem
You two are great, Comedy Magic, I'm going to Subscribe.
Thanks you two👍
Ha ha thanks Stuart.
You sir are a legend amazing information got my boiler up and running

No problem.
Thanks Jan , just fixed mine, bless you
No problem.
Hot water from my combi was very hit and miss, sometimes worked but most others nothing. Checked the pressure which was on 1 so increased it to your recommendation of 1.5 and so far boiler kicks in 1st time. Thanks
Yes a common problem.

Thank you so much! You saved me! ❤️
You're welcome!
the pressure is for both heating and hot water i thaught its only for heating and what does the pressure have to do with getting hot water good vid
Brilliant thank you! Did the job 👍🏼
No problem.
Thanks for your help
No problem.
thank you I now have fixed my boiler on my own please ask the lady to make more videos
Will do.
One of the valves doesn't close fully and lets a dribble of water through. Can i just leave the flexi pipe in place so when i want to top the pressure i can just turn the black levers to fill up ?
If i was to replace the faulty valve, would i need to turn off the mains water and flow and return valves on the boiler ?
I always leave the fill pipe connected. You will need to turn off the mains water. to fix the valve.
tysm it worked for me no plumber charges for me x
That`s good Amy saved yourself about £60.00.
Thank you I fixed my boiler watching this
No problem Karen.
I must remember to call jan when my boiler stops working 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dont call Saul, call Jan , ha ha.
Top geeza and geezet - just saved my cold toes
No problem.
Thanks so much for this really useful :)
You're very welcome!
Very helpful, thank you
You're welcome!
Really enjoyed the simplicity of your explanation , I’ve got an ideal logic plus 30 boiler and the central heating is ok but no hot water , someone suggested a flow turbine valve is this something I can fit myself or do I need to an engineer ,thanks
You will need an engineer who has to be gas safe registered to fix it.
Thanks

I have this exact boiler except no filling loop I just have 1 valve to open to let water in. If I fill my boiler as high as 1.5, it will go up far too much when the heating is on. Is it normal for the pressure to raise so much when running?
Yes Amy quite normal.
Thank you soooooo so much. !!!!
You're welcome!
Thanks Jan - it worked
No problem pleased it sorted it for you.
Hi, we have same issue with Ariston boiler. Boiler not kick in when we turn hot water tap in kitchen. rarely we get hot water in kitchen once in blue moon even though bar pressure is between 1 and 2 around 1.6 . Upstairs boiler kicks in only in that case if you open hot water tap fully. no issues with central heating that work absolutely fine. Any suggestion ? we have asked our plumber he suggested it could be diverted valve or boiler issue.
Yes it will be a problem with the 3 way valve not turning to hot water to allow the boiler to fire up.
What’s your thought on the ideal I mini as I’m thinking about getting one?
Great little boilers we had one before I changed to the Bosch. Wish I had stayed with the Ideal now though.
Great video.. is it important to know what the other pipes are entering the combination boiler? Is it the gas pipe, then the mains water and then the heating pipe which would outflow to the radiators?
No not really.
Good job
great vid and have just sorted my boiler as pressure was only half a bar! got it up to 1.5 bar but when central heating on it goes up to 2bar is this normal?
Yes that is OK.
detection
Good morning, I am after some advice please on balancing a radiator system, all my radiators have lockshields at both ends no trvs fitted, lockshields are identical and they both have the same caps on each lockshield so cannot distinguish between either my problem is I don't know which one to open and which one to close when balancing system your advice will be greatly received thanks once again
Dave
Hi Dave it does not matter which valve you choose on each radiator, Leave one fully open and turn the other one down. as they are all lock shields. Use pliers to turn them down.
Class video! Cheers.
Many thanks!
what if it fires up then initially hot water comes out then drops down to warm/cool water?
Check the pressure gauge is above one point two bar.
I noticed the tap that is attached to the pressure clock is in a different position to mine on my combi boiler. Should I change mine?
No some are different, but it is ok.
Lovely stuff xxx
Great
Ok,
I had a Biasi combi fitted (I know, a big mistake) to an old system and run 13
radiators and have already had a new secondary heat exchanger fitted after only
a few weeks. I've cleaned the original one with one shot cleaner. My TF1 filter
was catching no end of rubbish and it came as no surprise that the heat
exchanger was blocked (water running hot / cold repeatedly but C/H working
perfectly). My problem is now after refilling the system so many times with
oxygenated fresh water and using fernox F1, I don't know if there’s too much
inhibiter within the system. Does it help measuring the PH of the c/h contents
? Can I put too much inhibiter in? I have now replaced every old radiators with
new and hardly get anymore rubbish on the TF1 magnet. This morning after 12
months the water is again hot/cold…..
You can measure the PH of the water in the system, but overdosing normally does not do any harm, if you think it may be heavily overdosed though, then the only option is to drain it all out and start again.
Why would lack of pressure affect hot water? My boiler lost pressure due to a leak but hot water was fine?
Not all Combis just the newer models.
Good video, glad I've found you two on CZcams other my house will be flooded by now, mind your fingernails Jan as you don't want another broken one like last time 💅🏻
Alan said I had nailed it. Ha ha.
Thank u very very much guys u saved me at least £200 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾✌🏾😃
No problem, get yourself a beer.
...nice video mate!!
Thanks
Life saver!!!! Thank you so much!
No problem.
Great video thanks. My tennant has contacted me saying all taps are only producing hot water for 2 minutes and then it stops. What could this be?
Could this be pressure or something else?
(Shower and central heating all ok)
Thanks! 😊🙏🏼
Check that first, but is sounds like a problem with the 3 way vakve.
Thanks guys! I panicked because I had no hot water or heating and I did what you guys said in this video and it instantly solved the problem! Here’s me reading the boiler pack and it saying (contact emergency repairs and do not attempt any adjustments yourself) ... good old British morals of ( I ain’t paying for someone let’s google it) thanks you so much 👌👍
No problem.
Many thanks.
You are welcome!
Found thus really helpful.
No problem.
Nice video mate cheers
No problem Rich.
Thanks so much!
No problem
Very good video. Just turned my heating off and the pressure dropped. I presume it's from bleeding the radiators at the begining of winter. We lost hot water and got F1 error code. Followed your video and eveything is fine now. Thanks. Bye the way my fill up loop is a perminant copper pipe. Is this normal.
The copper loop is fine.
