Good video but the only issue is, how far do you go and how many parts do you replace before you get too deep in.. I’ve been to a 10 year old logic today with an L2, evidence of sump leaking and ideal said it “might” be the gas valve. I told customer it’s not been looked after or serviced and there’s no certainty I can get it working after changing 1 part.

Hi Allen. Thanks for the video mate. I'm not a plumber or gas engineer. I had a L2 fault on my Ideal logic combi es35. It turns out it was the condense, but not the pipe. The outside drain was blocked that the condense flows in to, not allowing the condense pipe to empty.
    Cheers mate, appreciate it.

Based on this video I poured a kettle of warm water over my consender pipe and reset my boiler and it fixed my L2 error code. Many thanks!

Same, my condenser pipe leads outside so I had a feeling it might be frozen over. Had to get the ladder out as my boiler is upstairs but it's better than having to call the boiler man!

Hi Allen OMG tried to reset boiler for central heating since yesterday, read your advice, also wild_greebo Thought this water pouring over the outside pipe is silly!!! Last tip to check and I’m amazed….lReally poured warm water from kettle, waited a few minutes and magic…low and behold it starting working……I’d never think of trying this…..absolutely freezing since yesterday now I can relax not havin to call out a repair guy..🤦‍♀️🤔which I can’t afford
A massive thank you Allen for this video..👋🏻🫂😀👍

Allen, Your a god send mate, Been watching your videos for a few years and the amount of times you've helped is unbelievable. I've now moved house and have the ideal logic boiler and on filling, turned the wrong valve which stopped the flow to the rads. Couldn't understand why I couldn't get heating on lol. watched one of your videos and boom, saved another call out. Cheers mate, keep up the great work.

1:38 You said it Allen 🤑🤑🤑, these bas*** are sucking us dry, thank you so much for your expertise it is much appreciated, I just wanted to ask 1 Q, when my pre paid meter money runs out I get cut off, my boiler shows the L2 due to no gas, what I wanted to know is can it damage my boiler having the sudden loss of gas in this way? It is an Ideal C30, thanks again ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

@Allen and all gas knowledge folks here, I have an ideal logic c30 base model. I notice that the main selected knob for CH on the boiler itself only shows a digital range from 30 to 35 degrees C when the spec sheet shows it being min 30 C max 80 C .The DHW is fine and shows min 40 C and max 65 C, which matches spec sheet. (More warmth rubbing hands together than the rads) Have you ever encountered something similar.

Hi Alan great videos and really helpful tips and tricks .I'm a gas installer in Dublin and I've noticed since September last year the two buttons on the front of panel one being the restart button normally I use them to go into low/high fire mode and change pump to p1 .Now I've got three boilers from three different suppliers and each time I get the same result it's like as if the buttons aren't lining up but have no joy at I've been in touch with ideal UK but no one knows . Would appreciate your help if you could help me many thanks again Dave

So, ideal logic heat 12. Sudden f2, l2 only once popped up... engineer has changed gas valve, electrode and lead, cleaned condense container, checked gas pressure at the boiler and the meter, cleaned venturi and injector, condense pump works... water pressure topped up...f2 comes on around 5 minutes in operation. Any ideas?? Boiler is 12 years old but not used a lot (good epc?

Hi Alan I have a 10 year old ideal logic. It hasn't. Been used for 6 months. It was working fine before, now every time the heating tries to come on the boiler fires then cuts out and the f2 fault code comes up. But the hot water side works fine every time I checked the water pressure just over 1 bar the gas supply should be ok as the hw side is OK we had it serviced about 1 Yr ago. Any ideals thanks

I keep getting the F2 and L2 one after another, after resetting one or twice it comes back on (the boiler has been doing it for nearly a year). Just ordered the hive rad valves so need the faults fixed so it doesn't keep tripping once the flame goes out.
Just ordered a Flame sensor and Ignition electrode hoping it's one of them.

  • @bigcahoonaburger8550

These are a poor boiler. Simple in design and to fix. Im binning mine as the board went, heat exchanger, ignition, pressure switch, make sure the diverter cartridge doesn’t stick by cleaning it, pre heat option a waste of time being on it, hot water is rubbish it cannot keep up with water flow to heat it quick enough… had trouble since year 7 of it life and limped on until 10.
Only bit I never touched was gas side, the rest any clown can do as long as you are methodical. Board is plug n play! £70 don’t fall for £250! pressure switch pulls out just make sure depressurise the system, oh n pay £350 for one off payment direct to ideal repair if it’s a major job over that price, it’s a one off fee, not a repair contract though.
