The stunning instrumental rendition, the inspiring lyrics, the wonderful orchestral part - the whole piece serves as a moving, uplifting and just utterly beautiful tribute.

You should be immensely proud of your father for writing this musical masterpiece, as I am sure you are. This is one of the most uplifting pieces of music I have heard in many years, and in terms of execution, Leonid and Friends are, frankly, just the absolute best.
Your father wrote and arranged a lovely song. The orchestral "solo" and the overtone solo provide a ethereal quality, that perfectly matches the lyrics by Leonid and Roman. I am so sorry that your father is gone. I am sure he would be pleased that his work was so well presented and performed. It is an honor to enjoy it!
God Bless you Daniil-your father must have been a great man, and still is now. I have been active in Healing and Deliverance Ministry for over 25 years and was always very spiritual. Went out-of-body after a surgery. I testify to everyone that Heaven is real. This song to me sounds like the Transition up the tunnel Into The Light. It could not be a more Beautiful, Spiritual, piece of music. Literally Perfect as you can get on this earth. It's a great Encouragement to see any God-Music make it out into the mainstream, everyone associated with this band and music seems very Holy.

@@rhm5158 Ksenia is vocal double tracked. The camera angles constantly change. All of Leonid & Friends videos are prerecorded and then they play-sync for the video recording. It allows the musicians to get the audio perfect and then saves time shooting the video.
@@rhm5158 I know you didn't ask me, but I feel I can contribute: Presenting a performance as complex and smooth- with this number of musicians utilizes electronic assistance on many levels.
The post production makes this somewhat obvious to experienced ears.
Only other musicians that come to mind of this caliber is Yanni, his band, and the orchestra.
This should have won a Grammy ...seriously original and great music, stunningly vocalized by Ksenia, who is now my favorite contemporary female singer. Pure unadulterated talent. I have so much admiration and respect for her and this world class group of musicians. Thanks to Leonid Vorobyev for making this possible!
Can't agree more. She is so good and also clean. I am also a big fan of Trijntje Oosterhuis, an amazing Dutch singer. I think most American music is now rubbish - all screaming, sexualisation and b' shit. Songs need to take the listener on a journey and tell a story

I’m so in love with this piece. It has everything that I love in music from a deep groove to rich orchestral colors and unique sound pallets, not to mention brilliant orchestra writing and scoring. 5/4 never sounded so funky.
Even though I greatly appreciate their performance of Chicago tunes I think it’s about time for them to come out with an album of their own tunes. They’re sitting on a gold mine with all those talents. For the next James Bond movie I think this one should be the main theme song!

@@tortenschiebermitsenf9282 Have you ever heard Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues? People thought the transition was too long in that song too but I cannot imagine the song without it now. I suspect that this song requires the string/orchestral transition in much the same way. Besides, it feels like the song has ended and then Leonid on that smooth bass part brings the song right back in.
My life experience has told me that outside of the spoken word, 'music' and 'food' are true international languages. I was born in the USA of Russian, Latvian and Lithuanian parentage. Mom and Dad were concert violinists. My life centered on business but with music always in my soul. Your total musical efforts, the arrangements, the vocals and the quality of orchestral foundation for your catalog of online work reminds and reinforces my belief that, again, music transcends all political and ignorance-based bias. Certainly this piece and your book of work online has reminded me again of just how deep music can penetrate my soul. It was worth making it to 75 years to hear your music. Your organization and your covers, for me and with respect to the authors of your covers, are in many ways a more enjoyable listening product than the originals. My wife and I were lucky enough to see them live this year. My wife was never a big Chicago fan, until I really showed her by getting front row seats to Chicago AND Leonid and Fiends. She now as hooked as I am to these fabulous musicians. And geez, can Leonid pound out diffecult bass lines, MAN He's good!!!

We have it here, too. But it doesn’t get much exposure. It’s usually found in academia and in movie and TV soundtracks. We hear this from L&F because we’ve become fans of their Chicago and EW&F covers. They’ve built a fan base to promote their new music to. Our music schools and conservatories could take a lesson from them.

But Ksenia gives both Janis and Cheryl a run for best female vocals ever! And as For Gino? I get that connection too. Been a massive fan for over 40 years, one of the absolute greatest - I was about 18 when Pauper In Paradise was released, and still loving it to this day.

Totally, utterly, completely, amazingly mind-blowing. Discovered this song today and have listened to it 5 times in a row. I'm in my sixties, music fan all my life, seen and heard many great acts, but I think this is the best song I've ever heard, best vocalist, best arrangement, best playing. Out of superlatives. Yup, he has that Fender Growl..Wonder what affect he had on that Bass if Any..That Ampeg equipment really helps with his sound..That 8-10 cab with at least 700 watts and you can also have his sound..I'm a bass player and a few people that I know have this same equipment..The sound is amazing!!!!

Every time I listen to this.....my jaw drops. This is truly an exceptional band with talent beyond the norm. If the world is just, then this band of musicians should be up there with the greats. Period!

Ok I am putting in a comment before I listen to this 5 times and over analyze....MY GOD! There is more variety and musical techniques stuffed into this song than exists in most entire albums. First it's in 5. Oh, and then let's introduce some Tibetan throat singing! We'll then lay down a really driving groove with beautiful lyrics and harmonies reminiscent of the Singers Unlimited or Manhattan Transfer. Wait....let's add a complex and beautiful symphonic interlude that reminds us of many of the Russian greats. Ok, that's the first tune. What's next?!?!? I have tickets for 1 October in Florida. I can hardly wait!
I'm so much in agreement with you Scott. I can't wait to see these guys in person. I'm in OKC and the closest to me is their Kansas City show in November. Already have my tickets!!
Let me add that if you're a fan of the old Brasil 66, the female vocal is very similar, smooth and spot on.
I saw them live a couple of years ago. They are amazing and there is rarely any butts in seats - it's a dance party much of the time, especially when they break out the Earth, Wind & Fire tunes! They should really consider having an actual dance floor at their concerts!

That was stunning. The best new music I’ve heard in years. Wow, and seeing every little nuance recorded for us to visualize as well. It doesn’t get much better than that. Bravo to the group and the fabulous orchestra. What a way to start the day.

This piece puts them in a higher level of musical sophistication. The composition, arrangement and playing is first class. Leonid's classical music directing shines through and blended together with a jazzy rhythm makes a beautiful composition. AND Kcenia is better and better every time I hear her. BRAVO! Can't wait to see you in USA.

First, this is just phenomenal. I could listen all day. But second, I truly miss Sergey Kashirin. He was a joy to watch.
Is he not with the group anymore? Or are you just commenting that he is not present for this particular song? [Edit] I did find news of his leaving the group on his Facebook page. I'm assuming it was his decision. I can't imagine a replacement as talented as him and I wish him well. At the same time, this may encourage L&F to expand their horizons in terms of covers as well as creating original work. This new video is a fantastic start.
@@barryanderson3910 He announced on his Facebook page this weekend that he was no longer with the band. Also, Leonid and Friends FB page also, had an announcement. It seems it was on very friendly but sad terms for L&F, since he is leaving to focus on other professional opportunities as well as be closer to his kids. I know these things happen, but I’m still bummed.

Leonid is a master mining the 70's for gold and then taking it beyond. Picking up where Milton Nascimento/Wayne Shorter left off with this strong 5 groove and incredible ensemble playing. Never heard a female do the Kargyraa style Tuvan singing- yikes! Also recalls Flora Purim and Return to Forever. Timely lyrics now - peace brothers and sisters - You represent humanity at its' finest.

I'm blown away listening to this piece. Never knew exactly how good my speakers were until now. The outstanding audio quality of this on CZcams is a testament to the people who put this together - the band (orchestra), the lead vocalist, the bass player, and the audio engineers.
If there is any justice in the world, this ought to be a huge international hit; wonderful stuff.

It's great seeing the group starting to do original music. As great as you are reproducing the music of Chicago and others. This is the step you must pursue to be more than you've become (and that ain't too shabby!)

Honestly one of the most amazing and talented bands I've ever heard!
Manhattan transfer, miami sound machine, beatles, george martin, floyd... in a blender and this is what comes out!!! I am blown away by this composition.
