Looking at the schedule, good for the band, but bad for me, I see they are getting the recognition they deserve doing larger, and more expensive venues, and they are performing farther away. But I hope to see them in Connecticut again this year. They already sold out the Ridgefield Playhouse. I'm hoping to see them at the Mohegan Sun Casino. That's closer to me anyway.

Leonid and Friends bring the ORIGINAL to LIFE.
Too much cannot be said of Leonid's ability to create note-for-note transcriptions of the original songs. The strings and brass are all playing off charts of his creation

Leonid & Friends are amazing! I only discovered their videos 2 weeks ago, but feel like I am reliving my youth in a 65 year old body. The energy, enthusiasm and respect shown to EWF, Chicago, Tower of Power and all the artists’ music that they cover brings back so many wonderful memories of my younger days, giving me even greater appreciation for living in a time of such creative and dynamic musical forces. I can look at that part of my life and truly say, “Those were the good ole days!” I am convinced that the love of great music and the passion with which original artists’ work is preserved by the great Leonid & Friends is a unifying and loving force in the world today. Thank you! Thank you!
I completely agree with everything you say here; and that makes me want to encourage you to go see L&F live somewhere. I'm 69, and I've seen the band live in concert three times in the last four years; and somehow I get younger every time.
Last time they came thru northeast Florida I was able to attend a meet & greet with the band after the show. Obviously they are all very talented; but also so warm and friendly and funny (even the few who seem to speak no English).

"Boogie Wonderland" is probably my favorite EWF song. I grew up listening to this group. I am in awe. I am speechless. Tears are rolling down my cheeks. This band is phenomenal. If you close your eyes and listen to this, you will swear it's actually EWF.

My wife, Cyndie, and I were at the Clearwater, Florida concert and when this song started, Cyndie had to get over to the aisle to dance. She danced for 2 songs until the usher asked her to take her seat. At the meet & greet, when we got with the band for the photo, Leonid told Cyndie, "I saw you dancing out there!" Fantastic time... ❤

After 50+ years as a pro musician, I can say these productions by L&F set the highest bench marks in every category. If a producer can even come close to this level, he is in the golden zone.

WOW...just wow. The girls, the lead, the saxophones, the brass, but the STRINGS are working up a sweat. I danced to this song when it came out. Leonid, you have out done yourself and that is WONDERLAND WONDERFUL
I In '79 when this song was released, I was 14 years old, I listened to it until the vinyl record was actually destroyed by so many plays. today I am 59 years old and I listen to it with tears of joy in my eyes, brought back to life by this fabulous band. All my respects to these sensational artists!
I’m the same age, can remember skating to this back in the day. I also wore out several copies of the 45, great memories.

That was the greatest recreation of the soulful sound of EWF, EVER! The guy on lead vocals was SPOT ON with Phil Bailey & Maurice White’s vocal sounds! And the ladies were awesome. What can be said about the musicians, except PHENOMENAL!! They are the best I’ve ever heard!! And their Chicago tributes are incredible as well!👍👍👍🎼🎶

It's rare to find a band that can perform so many tribute songs and do them better than the originals. Leonid and friends are all such professional and skilled artists and they perform with such amazing joy and compassion.

First concert I ever went to was EW&F and I have to say, Leonid & Friends captured the original feeling in "Boogie Wonderland".
This multi winds, multi strings, multi percussion arrangement resulted in a "multi" sensational and astonishing musical rendering. Absolutely beyond amazing. The combination of voice pitches of the girls coupled with Danil's lead voice are really a class by itself. So good guys!!
Don't forget a multi-generation of musicians in one group. That's awesome!😊

American here - I am absolutely amazed by this! Watching this song being replicated, I am stunned by HOW MUCH is going on in the music! Then I try to understand how my dear Leonid can actually HEAR everything going on in the recording and then transcribe it all . I am simply amazed. Thank you, sir!

The joy of being a professional musician and getting the sound you want is an indescribable feeling . You can see the results in these guys smiling faces , I miss that feeling now I’m 70 years old . Is it even possible to replicate this dynamic fast-paced dance track by EWF? This is an incredible tribute by Leonid and the gang. The harmonies, instrumentation and groove of the original song is honored and given a breath of fresh air. So infectious and smooth. Joyous. ❤

I came from Peru on April 25, 2023, to see them on my birthday and it was spectacular. It was a great gift to see them perform.

They revivify the originals, recreate them breathe new life into them. Thank you once again. The example you are setting for the world goes far beyond your superb musicianship. The expression "the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts" could not be more true to L&F. Just amazing.
Disco was so maligned and still is - but remains a high water mark in the history of music. Where R&B meets classical orchestration.The big band era of rock reached it zenith in some of these songs. The level of sophistication is unparalled. Love the timpani line! Who does that except the great classical composers! Well done Leonid and Friends. So fun watch!
Preach. Especially the part about being maligned. Yes, there was a lot of garbage bashed out under the guise of “disco” just to make some Green stuff. However, there were other iconic classics such as EWF, Donna Summer, & so many more. This track just soars because it’s musicians having fun again - just look at those smiles.
Props to the lead singer for being able to competently cover both Maurice White's and Phillip Baley's parts at the same time!

The joy that Leonid must experience as these young musicians execute perfectly the music he has masterfully transcribed, must be beyond thrilling. He catches nuances and adds emphasis to them by mixing each of them a little more prominently than was done in the original ewf recording. This guy is a gifted pro!!!
This version is even better than the original, if that's possible. Enhanced technology. This cover band is THE BEST!!!!!!!!
I dare to disagree, L&F are an excellent band, their EWF covers are brilliant, and the band members seem to have a lot of fun playing and singing, but for sure not better than the original.
Their sound is clean, tight and very well sound engineered, for me personally a little too clean and tight. This version of Boogie Wonderland is ever so slightly too fast tempo wise
I prefer the original EWF versions any day. But hats off for them bringing the EWF songs the way that they do. Would love to see them perform live.

@@TheoSmith249 Rest assured, I'll be very happy in my very short column. Blame me for being critical, for me no one tops the real EWF. But so far, I've never seen anyone cover their songs better than L&F.
Can't go there. EW&F is the single greatest R&B group in history. The creativity they displayed will never be matched, in my opinion. However...L&F puts on the single best cover of EW&F, Chicago, Tower of Power, Steely Dan, and all the other bands they've covered over the past several years. Nobody does it better...but nobody will ever beat EW&F. I feel Leonid would agree.
Leonid & Friends blows away all other tribute/cover bands!! What attention to detail with every song they perform! Igor is as solid as a freight train. This band is smoking hot as always.

I've seen them live six times. They are my favorite band. I can't wait to see them this year in So Cal. I grew up with CTA & EW&F. I've been playing drums for 58 years and these incredible musicians are funky!

Over and over again, these guys just deliver like it's the easiest thing in the world. But it's not. It's damn hard at this level. But no matter what they do, it's always perfect! Just great!
Leonid & Friends aren't just the best cover band or tribute band, they the BEST band PERIOD. They are literally the best band in the world. I continue to be flabbergasted as how gifted the individuals in this band is. The musicians & singers in this group are truly talent on loan from God. I'm an old guy who remembers when Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire came out, have all their albums and have seen both in concert multiple times and I can sincerely say that Leonid and Friends sound EXACTLY like them.
It’s a shame you can’t have all of those musicians on the road with you. That was remarkable. Kudos to Leonid and his brilliant Friends.
I always loved this song since I first heard it in high school in 1979, but I never really heard all of the parts until today and its SO MUCH BETTER!!! Bravo, Leonid!!
Love this band! I grew up with Chicago and Earth a wind and Fire and these aren't covers. They are exactly like the originals. So glad to have found them.

Been a while since we've seen a new L&F drop, and boy was this worth the wait! I've known every note of this tune for the past 45 years since its release on the I Am album in 1979, and it was one of EWF's most complex arrangements...and L&F nailed every part of it! The vocals, the horns, the strings, the keys, the percussion, everything!
My 'repeat button' has broken... This is pure joy! Thank you Maestro Leonid and the band!!

Really excellent performance by everyone there. Love Igor and Leonid driving the rhythm. Danny did an exceptional job on the lead vocal. He covers EW&F songs so perfectly. Also have to give kudos to Ksenia, Irina and the newest Angelina. They absolutely killed those background vocals.

I saw them live in Lynn, MA, a year ago. They bring as much joy in their live performance as you see here. Leonid's son was a great MC, with a great sense of humor. "Growing up as a boy in Siberia, it was always my dream to perform in Lynn Massachusetts."

After watching the video 5 more times, how can you not love what Leonid and Friends do with music?? Amazing, and everything is so tight that you can't find a weak spot! An incredible amount of talent is what we are seeing.
Every time we say the term "cover band" for these musicians, I get really sad, I feel somehow uncomfortable, because it seems like we're underestimating their value and level as musicians. And this, because the quality, the musical education, and the talent of these gifted musicians is so much, that this term of "cover band" honestly does them no justice. I could be wrong or exaggerating, but that's how I feel. Nevertheless, the band really revives, refreshes and gives shine and new life (always with an absolute respect to the original) to masterpieces of the past. Personally, I finally see them as a music group that, beyond the joy of the music it offers us, generously gives the message of peace between our peoples. Congratulations for the whole venture, and of course thank you so much for the music.!!

I never get tired of being blown away by the talent of these musicians. It is no doubt a lot of hard work over many many hours, but you all seem to genuinely enjoy what you are doing.
I sincerely think this might be the best cover of any song I’ve ever heard. Ever. I have listened to this no short of five times, and it is FLAWLESS.

That is as faithful to the original as is possible. I always loved EWF and am so pleased to have found this recording. The drummer plays it just like fred white or ralph johnson…..it’s marvellous.
We took these songs for granted in the 70s. Wonderful job (as always) by L & F bringing this great song to life.
