- Hudba

georg happel- by accident I've come to see this video.. and by accident I noticed your comment on them being Russian. I didn't believe it. I had to Google it...
Just to confirm that the Russians and the Americans are truly just the same people in different continents...... God Bless you all over there in Russia....
On a scale of one through ten, I give them a thirty-five.
hahaha, yes!
I'd go along with that 😂😉 Brilliant
lol . true numbers !!!
I find that too censorious, I'd say they worth at least a thirty-five per musician, and an extra hundred and five for that Trumpet solo!
On a scale from 1-10? Yes!
This band is amazing. Every single cover is 100% spot on. Vocals are absolutely perfect.
Oh yeah! Hear how they perform Stormbringer together with the Pozdnyakov brothers! czcams.com/video/9nv145Y_-lc/video.html

'king A right. We have seen L&F three times so far, going for #4 in June, 2023. Can't wait!

@@74bshs I just saw them! Such a good time and did the meet and greet too!
Best version of this song ever. Incredible brass and singing. Production and mixing spot on. Stay safe Serge and the rest of the band. One day may we all live in peace.
This day will come if we want it all. The problem is with those who don't understand the immense difference between peace and war. It's the responsability of those who clearly see the difference to do something. I'm regrouping those kind of people. Maybe you can join us Vince?

Most definitely! I'm so impressed by his range, tone and endurance :)
Perfect
The sound engineer is beyond talented. The balance and separation of the instruments and singers is other worldly. Dude they're not paying you enough 😉
Genius at work. Thank you. Every musician and vocalist on this cut is absolutely superb, over the top; But you and your ears, your interpretation and sensitivity, and talent made it all come alive.

Sound is great and the Brass section is beyond belief and Arturo sounds incredible
He puts Phil Spector and George Martin Beatle engineer, to shame!!
As a long time sound-engineer : These recordings/mixes are probably the best I've heard of small / medium brass-sections. Epic. I think the snare and kick is a bit too low in this mix, but else : Perfection. And I HATED the song when I was young - now I dont :)
@@jakobole Interesting...a sound engineer. You have an ear for perfection. Glad you agree that this is IT. The guy is first rate. I hope I get to see Leonid in NYC this fall.
The thing about this band is they are not a cover band. They are a first rate band in themselves. Able to put out an album or to attract large numbers at a concert. A very talented group with a great future. I wish them all the best and please don't stop making the perfect sound.
the singer is Amazing!
How are they not a cover band?
Mmm no, no. They are a cover band.
Ofcourse they started covering but grew out of their skin and I wouldn't dare to call them that any longer. How about the beautiful female voice!
Arturo is terrific, of course, but the trumpet player in the band is also damn good.
Yeah, Leonid's trumpet player Andrey is a prodigy;he could have played that passage just as well as Arturo
true that!
regardless of who is in the band at any given time, i think we can all rely on Leonid 's chosen lineup.
IFO, i actually enjoy the fact that these changes happen without upset to the music making. how else would we be introduced to the artistry and chemistry of so many talented people?
its always so well produced and presented, and above all, entertaining AF.
i fantasize a future reunion tour or video with everyone who ever played in the band along for the ride.
☮❤🙏
Definitely!!…but was only an invitation to make a solo of trumpet and was nice, very good 👍🏼
I like the girl 🎉
When they showed Arturo from behind, it looks like his picture is sitting in the window. Then when you see him from the front, it almost looks like he's smiling. I know it's just his embouchure, but it made ME smile.
Ok, I'm calling it... This band is the best cover band in the world. Every single member is extremely talented.
This is the best cover of Chicago I've ever heard in my life. 26 or 6 to 4 is very close second.
Very true, and I'd throw in "I'm A Man" and "Listen" as well.
@Fuerza When you're doing someone else's hit, in the same style, it's a cover, no matter how good it is. Though I'd agree with Jonathan; this band is just as good as Chicago ever was, performing. I can't say anything about original composed rock, as I don't know of any of the songs any of those here, have ever written. Chicago's songwriters were among the best there ever were.
Leonid & Friends is not a cover band, but a tribute band...and the best tribute band in the world.
@@d.e.b.b5788 , They are as good if not better then the original Chicago and they blow the current Chicago line up out of the water. Been
Lexington lab. Not too bad either.
I met Arturo at our local Summer Festival. Embarrassing because only around 200 people showed up to watch his free concert. I walked up to him afterward and asked for an autograph and to find out what mouthpiece he was using. He said, "wait a minute" then went into his trailer and came out with his trumpet, handed it to me and said "play it." I declined because I was too nervous...lol! He then spent about ten minutes with me putting on a clinic about how to practice upper register, breathing and embouchure. Super nice guy. Something I will never forget. The next time I saw him was at a paid concert and he was playing to a packed house...lol!
lizard944 awesome!
He's a class act, just like the entire Leonid & Friends group!
Probable because his appearance was not well publicized SR. Arturo is a trumpet player of the highest quality.
Truly a great performance
What a great story! Thanks for sharing!
I know some might be offended at this, but they are better than the current lineup of Chicago. Beyond amazing.
True. Much better than the present line-up of Chicago.
I saw Chicago a couple years ago with that Jason guy. I would have rather seen Cetera myself but that would have been years ago. But these guys are the bomb. Maybe the new Chicago. As a matter of fact, The original members of Little River Band lost the rights to their name so why not have a new Chicago with a slightly different sound.
I have to agree. I love Chicago but these guys take it to another level. Remember they are from another country and wow they knock it out. Every note is on key. Perfection is the best way to describe Leonid & Friends. I have listen to you over and over. Please make more songs.
No one with working ears is offended. Or disagrees. I think they surpass the original lineup.
They sure are !!
I'm a 53 year old ex-trumpet player for whom Arturo Sandoval has been a hero my whole adult life, and yet, in this one it's Andrey's ascending line that starts around 4:22 that has me repeating the same ten seconds over and over. 😆
You can hear Arturo’s 8VA over the phrase too
Shear perfection across the board and they pull it off live as well 😊😊
Arturo. I know this comment of mine is years after this video was posted, but I keep coming back to this tune and your performance. I am so grateful that you have found America to be your home even though we can only claim you since 1998. You are truly an amazing trumpet player and how you hit that wide open high note is beyond comprehension. I've seen this video dozens of times and each time I wonder if you're going to hit that note. It's like the most suspenseful part in a movie you've seen a hundred times. You are truly a national treasure.
I'm amazed at how hit that note while sitting down! That is baffling to me! But I have never had his chops. Fantastic musician right there!
Yes! Maynard who???😂
Just kidding, both legends, but man, Arturo is on fire here. Soul city!

Could there even be a tighter horn section than this?! Totally insane!

Love the four-piece brass section 2
I love this. Listen, watch every couple of days.
I especially love the way the lead guy sings away from the microphone and lets us see the full passion of his face.
The very highest level of musicianship, you cannot separate any of them. Love this band.

I stumble across this video, a former trumpet player myself. Man Arturo Sandoval is one awesome trumpet player and this horn section is the bomb🎺🎷 keep up the great work people.
Arturo is one of the few people I can think of who pretty much becomes an expert of any instrument he touches. He is that dedicated of a musician and we’re lucky to see just the tip of the iceberg of the work he puts into his music.
You should check out Greg Adams, from TOWER OF POWER....GREAT HORN PLAYER TOO!!
I can listen to this everyday and never get tired of it.
........ME TOO!!!!!!!!
I do…
The bass did not get a solo, but laid it down during the entire song - especially with the guitar and afterward.
I absolutely do
I can’t stop playing it! ❤
I'll be honest, I never actually listened to Chicago before discovering Leonid & Friends. And having listened to both the original band of Chicago and the cover band of Leonid & Friends play numerous songs, I would say that Serges voice and the mix of the entire soundtrack is definitely better than Chicago's originals. Clearly Chicago is incredible as well and I am absolutely breathless from the degree of musicality in the songs -- but nonetheless the absolutely joy in Leonid & Friends is something clear and beautiful to see.
Dude, Chicago Transit Authority did their songs in the late 60s/early 70s... they don't have the modern musical technology of today but still made legendary songs that made these covers a reality. Think about that for a second.
How many times can I listen to this!? Over and over and over and...over...

As a fellow Canadian, who has seen the current Chicago line-up, I agree! They are *amazing!*
Arturo Sandoval Band performs Seven Steps to Heaven in Alfa Jazz Festival 2016 in Lviv, Ukraine (June 25, 2016)
That solo is off the charts, it's so good. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
I'm pretty sure that Lee Loughnane is impressed with that solo!
What makes this group so impressive is their authenticity to the original recordings. Most original artists can't even accomplish this, nor do they understand the importance to attempt to do so. We have a certain sound in our heads, and we want to hear it that way. And seeing it at the same time is extra special. Bravo!
My sentiments exactly, thank 😌 U.
True. I don't typically go to concerts because so many bands have a hard time reproducing their own music live, but I intend to go see L&F if and when they come to my area (SoCal).
Chicago reborn! ...Awesome!
Absolutely agree!
You said that right... unbelievable really this group....
Please keep these wonderfully talented artists in your prayers during this tragic time. I attended their performance in Atlanta a few months ago and have been anxiously awaiting their return in May. I had the opportunity to speak to Leonid and simply said to him, “God Bless you and your wonderful group.”
He smiled and shook my hand.😇
Every time I listen to this I get goosebumps when I hear the trumpet player his solo (Arturo Sandoval). Legend.............
Only realized it's an all Russian band after the last note. Wow totally authentic.
Bravo to the sound engineer, incredible balancing work.
Leonid does the video and audio mixing
I am blown away!! I have seen Chicago over fifty times in my life and this version is better than the original. Keep it up!!
BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL. ARE YOU NUTS? WHY DON'T THESE GUYS MAKE THEIR OWN ORIGINAL MUSIC, THEN WE'LL SEE HOW GREAT THEY ARE. ANYONE CAN COPY GREATNESS. NOT EVERYONE CAN CREATE IT.
@@johnorabone6112 You don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Chicago didn't even write most of their own songs. They were written by David Foster and others. Lee Loughnane is Chicago's trumpet player and , although he is playing on this song, the upper register trumpet here is actually Maynard Ferguson. Andrey Zyl is covering Maynard's part with ease, something that Lee could only dream about! No offense to Lee. So yes, in that regard L&F is better than Chicago at reproducing the studio sound.
Mmm... NO ONE is better than the OG-7, but as Terry, Peter & Danny departed, so did the magic ~ Somehow, L&F have tapped into the Spirit of Chicago and are superior to the Current Lineup
@lizard944 ~
"Chicago didn't even write most of their own songs"... Umm, seriously?? Reality check = Until Chicago 16, CHICAGO wrote all of their own songs... and David Foster has NOTHING to do with "Street Player" (1979) written by Danny Seraphine & David "Hawk" Wolinski (of Rufus w/Chaka Khan) ---- Your David Foster & outside composers statement only applies to Chicago 16 (1982) thru Chicago XXX (2006) = even "Chicago 36: Now" (2014) was written by current members of CHI, some in collaboration with other writing partners as with Robert Lamm teaming with Gerry Beckley [of America], Phil Galdston, Hank Linderman, and John Van Eps = all who've also teamed with Lamm on his recent solo albums
@@Roostermania2010 So my comment, "Chicago didn't even write most of their own songs," still stands. Thanks for the confirmation.
My goodness , what a beautiful sound. So glad your channel popped up.
Make Me Smile... all of the Leonid & Friends artists make me smile! All of renditions are superbly performed and recorded. It makes me smile that they have brought back Chicago to today's audio standards and that they are having fun doing it! Keep on keepin on!
So I was listening to this ( not watching at all ) and the trumpet solo began and I thought “... man, this guy sounds JUST LIKE Arturo..!” and then I heard the note at 3:51 and ran over to my computer... HAHAHAHA ! No wonder he sounded just like Arturo ! 🤷♂️
That was an insane note ON TOP of an insanely awesome solo! Kudos!
Arturo took away from the group. It was an odd addition and took away to me. This Group Alone is Fine!!!
A huge compliment to have Aurturo Sandoval play with you. These musicians are much more than a cover band.
Simply amazing talent! Which, in no way implies, they didn't work their asses off to play at this level.

Wow. :o
! too me Yeah,
Arturo absolutely slayed that solo, especially the last high note! Even at 69 years old he remains a master of the jazz form and has mentored enough young students to ensure his entrance into heaven.
After listening to these several times, I've found that Chicago is a cover band.
Hahahaha

No. I like the disco version from 1979 better. However, Chicago’s trumpet solo is excellent, but Sandoval is a master.
Don't swear
Hahaha 😂

Leonid must be some kind of genius - he has assembled amazing musicians and produced fantastic music that we all love to dance to
I'm and American amateur musician and music lover; and if Ukrainian and Russians are anything like these folks, we are just all cut out of the same cloth! United by Music and the Spirit behind it! May God Bless You all! Merry Christmas Everyone!
My God, I cannot stop listening to this song... I love it and especially the way you arranged and play it! Super voices! Super instrumentalists!
I have to say that as a Chicago fanatic for 50 years, this cover is more superior than the original.... Exceptional and passionate vocals to where you can undrstand the lyrics.... a guitar solo of which would be hard to distiquish from Donnie Dacus's original if you were'nt watching the video and a trumpet solo that spoke to your soul.... and of course one of the finest ensamble of tight and proffessional musicians this world has to offer..... Bravo is an understatement!
Better & cleaner execution right thru, Yes!
I've listened to this so many times CZcams keeps interrupting it with commercials during the trumpet solo! Definitely, my new favorite song and I don't even remember Chicago playing this in the 70s either (which was my time). Just plain awesome.
I never see any . . . a d b l o c k . . . indispensable

That Night in Tunisia quote
He KILLED IT!!
Once upon a time in the late 90's, my wife and I attended a "supper club" in downtown Orlando that had as its entertainment that night, the late great MAYNARD FERGUSON. (That's why we were there, no surprise)
The door opens from the street in the middle of a trumpet solo, and in walks ARTURO SANDOVAL!! I nearly choked on the prime rib I was eating.
Long story short, Maynard stopped playing in the middle of the song to introduce Arturo (Maynard was surprised too) and Arturo got up on stage and did a few numbers with the band.
Later learned he had heard some dynamite trumpet playing while he was walking by and came in to see who it was.
Needless to say, I definitely got my money's worth and more that nite.

What an awesome track! And to hear Arturo soloing! Whew!!!!
Consistency..Whatever this band does...they absolutely kill it...Amazing
You can tell they play as one entiity..no egos clashing. It reminds me of the early days of the Beatles when one of them said (Ringo?)..."We are four parts of one whole"......You get the same vibe here. The world's prettiest girl singer thrown in for good measure...fabulous playing..and an absolute dead on copy of the Chicago songs. I love that the gal smiles..such a far contrast to the woman singers of today who have to frown and look angry to look cool. Truly, she is a lady, and this band is supernatural!
Crazy how sexist you are :D
Leonid and friends are the new band Chicago, and another level, and even the perfect, unadorned continuation of Chicago's legacy. No matter the name they are in fact this and beyond, much more than that. Quality and professionalism singing and musicing for genius.
❤❤❤❤❤
Lord, the trumpet player... holy smokes! But absolutely everyone else is off the charts too. And kudos to the sound engineers who mixed it all. Amazing.

That horn section absolutely SLAYS this song!! OUTSTANDING!!
Chicago was fantastic ... they are fantastic now. However, this cover band is ABSOLUTELY wonderful. They are precious musicians. Clap clap 🙏🏻
Many Maynard fans are unaware of this, but Maynard was a guest on Chicago's 1979 album, "Chicago 13." He appeared on the tune "Street Player." Here's the story as I heard it: Maynard and his band were in the studio recording the album "Hot," and Chicago was across the hall recording at the same time. The Chicago brass, being Maynard fans, asked Maynard to sit in on a tune, and to be fair, Chicago drummer Danny Seraphine sat in on "Rocky II Disco."
I've seen Maynard about a dozen times. I miss his music and showmanship. Last time I saw him was about four or five months before he died.
That story sounds fun, however, Maynard is playing throughout this song including the horn soli section with the soprano saxophones. It would be impossible to just show up and sight-read that for a recording. However, his solos were completely improvised.
Wonderfull vocal voice
Felicitaciones!. ❤
Wow. You got the famous Arturo Sandoval to play on this with you. You went straight to the best (since Maynard's not around).

I just can't get enough of this band. Serge could make a #1 hit out of "row row your boat" with that voice of his. Amazing voice indeed!!
Man, Arturo Sandoval blew the heck out of that trumpet. Wow! This group is the best cover band I've ever heard. So much talent.
Wonderful live 🔥🔥🔥saw them last month
This is one of my most fav songs of all time and this performance of it is SPOT on. Impressive work - please don't stop sharing your talent with the world, it's a better place because of artists like you
What an amazing musical group! Fantastic professional musicians. No hackers in here. They play Chicago better than Chicago. They have such passion when they play and, when you look at them, you can see it in their faces. Just stunning!
Better than Chicago ... a h yeahh! They're so powerful, professional, intense!
After they sell 100 million records of music that they write, create, arrange, record and market, come back and see me about being "better than the original". Chicago has 15 top 20 albums, including 5 that reached number one and 21 top 10 singles. Lets keep that perspective Talented - definitely, a fan of what they are doing -for sure, but please lets stop with this "better than Chicago nonsense". Leonid and Friends has our attention, now lets write, create and record your own hits and we can judge from that.
This shows how good music can be when you’re motivated by only music, and not money. Yes, Chicago, I mean you as well.
It takes a lot to impress me... And I'm just floored with this band!
John Ryan My thoughts exactly!
They seem to have a lot more energy than Chicago had and their horn arrangements kick ass!!!
Agreed
I've commented in the past about the exceptional arrangements, horns and drums, but I have to say Serge's voice on this one was pure, clean and so pitch perfect! Well done guys!!!
Arturo Sandoval is just amazing. I love his Americanism, the sticker on his horn, his shirt and his playing. World class trumpet, American class citizen.
Bunggo Loya Right! I noticed as well. 🇺🇸
Absolutely perfect and with awesome energy, harmonies, vocals, horns and wow! 🇷🇺 🇺🇸
and cowbell............
This band is so insanely awesome ... I bet the band Chicago is very honored to be covered by such gifted muscicians and singers, in fact our country should be honored that this band from Russia went to such efforts as to not only create these faithful covers of an American band, but to learn a foreign language in the process. It was like Leonid is giving an olive branch to an admitteed adversarial country and that makes me love them even more ... I hope they are around for a very long time and continue to tour our country. They are the best ...
Serge Tiagniryadno is the main lead singer here - An utterly brilliant singer and instrumentalist. Oh, and from Kiev in Ukraine 🇺🇦. Russia’s aggression has destroyed everything that you are presently listening to. Leonid and friends is now so different. Serge is such a gifted man . . . His own family presently in danger. Take a look for his solo music on social media.
@@CLASSICALJAJ Have you seen their Christmac concert from last year? Serge sings vis zoom from Kiev. BTW, Arturo Sandoval is one of the very best trumpet players in the entire world which is saying alot because their regular trumpet player is also amazing. Their covers are better than the originals.

The harmonies, magnifico!!!!
I can hear every bit of the music and the voices clearly.. bongos, the girl, guy one, guy 2, horns, trumpets, maracas, all of it... Love it and amazing.....
Blown away again! That trumpet solo is amazing. Whole band amazing. Something that comes through on all your videos is the unity, the energy. Nobody's the star. It's just all about coming together. This is what happens when you get people cooperating with joy on a united project, and it's an example to the world. If only politicians would follow it, what a wonderful world it would be.
SO TRUE!! :-D
