Colbert and his team are absolutely on fire these days. Their jokes are so on point and of course, his timing and performance are absolutely brilliant. It's easy to make jokes about Trump, but they take it to an elite level

No, Colbert is too political. It's a talk show, not a political show. Letterman joked about politics but he did it in moderation, every single thing Colbert says turn into a joke about Trump. I'm like we get it, Trumps a moron, can you joke about something or someone else now?
TheIrishMan All of the segments I've ever seen from this show follow the same repetitive format: present some "argumentation" and "facts" for about 10 seconds, then quickly follow these up with a snarky quip (which themselves overwhelmingly take the form of complete non-sequitur or otherwise absurd metaphor) before any rational processing of the preceding argument can take place in the mind of the viewer. Further telling is that the only 'beats' or mental pauses in the show's pacing exist solely to highlight the approving laughter or applause of the studio audience. Repeat this basic formula without variation 20-40 times in a row and you have one of the 12-20 minute 'segments' that form the backbone of the show

A President can pardon someone of any future wrong doing's prosecution.
That's what Ford did for Nixon.
We think of pardons as an after-the-fact affair, but they're so loosely defined that they can be done at any point.
If Trump ever tried to pardon himself from a crime, he would immediately be slapped with obstruction of justice. He can't win in that situation.
Wrong. According to Nixon's OLC (office of legal counsel), the President can NOT pardon himself. It would go against long-standing commonlaw tradition of one not being allowed to stand in judgement of ones self. However, that same OLC proffered a solution... All dRumpf has to do is say he is temporarily unable to handle the day-to-day duties of the WH, and under Section 3 of the 25th Amendment, Pence can come in temporarily and do the pardon for dRumpf.
