- I have waited so long to see this!! Today I am priming my downstairs bathroom. I have been extra excited to see this room painted because the sheetrock was blue instead of white, making the room so much darker. It was worth the wait!!

TAPE!!! Worth it around fixtures like the bathroom :)
I know right…. Never again will I paint without tape!
I would have never had the guts to paint around that wood without tape
I was going to comment about “not taping” it off before painting.
Use painters tape for cutting in and prevent paint from getting on your counters ❤🎉😊
It’s really starting to look like a home and not just a renovation project! ❤ I’m super excited for you!
You have to be very proud of the efforts put forth.
And Jay was major factor in the entire process.
Abby thank you so much for sharing your journey with us all ❤❤❤❤
Not only would you love to enjoy your home but it's so close and beautiful I have loved being invited to see your journey! Your dreams have inspired my own within my abilities Thank You for that Abby. I can't thank you enough I will always watch to learn and enjoy!!
Good things come to those with vision and work hard to get them😀
The Chantilly Lace color is beautiful. You and Jay have done a wonderful job.
you're going to love living in your new home so much! coming right along!
Looking awesome !! Great job young lady, I’m sure your parents are very proud of your accomplishment !! 👏👏👏
House is looking great. I love how much you appreciate what you have. Every day amazes you.
cover your toilet drain! dont want to clog your pipes prematurely! You must be thrilled to be at this point in your rebuild! Have watched from Video 1!
"Alright , lets keep it together, this is super exciting.". Doesn't that sound like something you would say? Ah ha, hard to put in words the fireworks 🎇 of progress. When you backed up and we could see the angular stairs and the house around the stairwell that was an amazing realization. As the Chicago song says.."Your my inspiration". Nice work, you really got that extendaroller thing figured out..Impressive. be careful with that voltage especially around water and damp floors. Stay safe and sound. This last 25% is important because it is easy to be distracted and loose focus, it will make or break the whole thing.. I am happy you have a great team around you, that knows how to finish.., experience, no substitute. Love it, so proud of you. 😊
Yes very excited to see all the primer going on, love it. Doing great work Abby and Jay.
Just some hints for you: get a good brand of painter's tape, and some smaller brushes, trim brushes and a ceiling paint edger. Also a scarf to put over your pretty hair - tie it at the nape of your neck. Paint is a bear to get out of your hair! Also plastic disposable gloves keeps the paint off your hands and manicure. 😊
Why don’t you use a pole on your roller so you don’t have to climb up and down the ladder?
I’m excited for you! How about using painters tape around vanity?
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G PROGRESS, Anby!!! 🥰🌻❤️🏡❤️🌻🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Abby your painting the house happy. Looks so good.😊
It looks amazing Abby! All the hard work done by all is definitely paying off! You should definitely be proud of yourself!
Yes, the bathroom looks good, even though it's only primer. It will be such a nice room. I'd put wood on top of the half wall to match the other horizontal surfaces.
Wow ! Wish I had your energy ,I'm sure your tired at the days end . Supper job Abby It's really moving along now I know your excited !!!!! We are all cheering you on girl . the house is looking GREAT ! 🤗💙
Looking superb. We do 1 coat primer, 2 coats paint. And like someone already mentioned painters tape around fixtures vanity or anything you don't what a get paint on. Abby, have a wonderful day
It’s looking sooo nice! Exciting times. You go girl!
Great job! You're representing northern New York well! Awesome 👍
Abby! Please watch a couple of the multitude of "How-to-Paint" to learn the correct brushes, rollers and techniques needed to properly apply paint to walls. Do it right the first time, saves time and money. I'm so happy for you and really enjoy watching the evolution of your dream house🎉. 22:06
How to ** U Tube tutorials😊
I was glad to see that you mudded and taped the seams and corners in that storage space. One less place for bugs to get in. :o)
Chantilly lace is so pretty
The Chantilly Lace looks great! The whole place looks so good! ❤
You can protect your wood surfaces, counters, floors, tub, with painters tape and rosin paper. Also an angle brush for cutting in. Things are moving right along 👍
Tape off the wooden countertop to your bathroom sink so you don’t get paint on it 😘
You probably should've painted on down to the tub with the primer. I know you're going to tile that area but priming will make it easier to remove the tile if ever you should have to do so. I had wallpaper put up in some of the rooms of my house when it was built & the walls were not primed. When I took down the wallpaper years later it tore the surface of the drywall off. Priming will protect the drywall.
The white paint is warmer than I thought it would be and looks great with the wood. Looking gooooood!
Impressive! Maybe you can play around with different lighting options in your bathroom to make it brighter.
It is beautiful Abby. I love your paint choice.
Abbey
A thing that can help with dust and the after effects of building is to paint the floors with paint before flooring and carpet laying.
Our electrician suggested that when we built.
Really helps.
Abby it is really coming together. So proud of you. I would love to have that plant ledge in my bathroom. If you do plan on putting plants on it you may want to give the wood a coat of marine varnish to waterproof the wood
only the top and sides; Let the wood breathe, otherwise it rots.
PG here. Celebrations! 🥳🥳🥳🥳Wow! What progress! Question for upstairs. One storage has been taped and mudded the other side has not. Would it cut back on drafts in the winter in that room, to at least mud and tape the storage area where you plan to put in recessed shelves? Save on loss of heat?
Omg it's looking like a house! lol Lovely :))))))
I love it!!!❤ How exciting to see it this close to being finished!
Dream coming true.
Hi there Abby! Your house is coming along so beautifully!!!! You are doing a great job! I’m the one that mentioned to you a few videos ago about garden plans and “floor plans” for your gardens and flower beds. I found a good one you might want to get by Better Homes and gardens today at my grocery. Will send you a picture of it and some of the pages in the magazine so that you can see what I’m talking about. Hope this helps and will maybe give you some ideas. It has the design for the beds, plant lists, actual pictures of beds planted like the design etc. just thought of you when I saw it!!! Can’t wait to see all of the progress in your house and how your beautiful yard and gardens will be!! Bless you young lady in the rest of your endeavors!!! Will send to your email I guess. Can’t figure out how to attach it here! Oh well!😂
It is amazing to see your remodel/rebuild go together. You and Jay are incredible! Looking so great.
Try a 2”angled brush for those tricky spaces, makes it so much easier for you😊Go girl❤
It sure does brighten the bathroom
Wow, cool picture, ah ha, exhausted, I will watch tomorrow, looking forward to it. G.nite ... amazing
Love the color it just getting beautiful!
Wow Abby, it’s looking soooo good! Love the color you picked out. The house really has come a long way since the first day you began vlogging. So happy for you! Can’t wait until you move in!!! Love from Cathy in Nashville, TN. ❤
You are going to really enjoy big yard! I am doing some clean up and planting flowers! I consider my yard as my paradise!
I'm so glad you finally got an extension pole! Too long for the hallway but it got to the point we couldn't watch without one!!! You are a hard worker, now you are a smart worker!
I love the paint color where Jay has painted! It is looking really nice!
Really starting to look like a home
It looks so good!!! I love the white as well.
A beautiful and good sized mirror as well as a multi-light chandelier will help brighten up the bathroom. So will a skylight in a darker region of the bathroom if possible to install. (I have all those things and it’s really nice.) I think you have a new roof that slants out and down.
Looking good for your new home 😊
After all the remarks for the long handled roller I knew you’d have one, tight spaces just aren’t conducive. Good work by Team Abby & Jay
Good painting. Thank you for sharing.
You will need a back splash in the bathroom,to keep the wall looking nice.
I think it would look cool if you put whatever wood your gonna put around the tub or whatever tile youre gonna put on the floor and put in the back of that little nook by the toilet and up on the wall over that big shelf area!
She’s looking beautiful. I cannot believe I’ve been watching since the beginning waiting for this final stage. You’ll be in before Christmas 🎅 listening to talk about the peacefulness I agree that your plan to acquire the land across the street is smart and prudent. It would be a shame to loose the serenity your current place has, and call me odd, but I quite like the falling down barn on the left hand side ( looking out to the street)
Abby you are amazing. Do you ever run out of energy? I’ve followed you from the beginning and I get excited more for you with each video.
I hope you plant some evergreens...green all year long! Love watching your utube!!!
Abby, no judgement but try to not get paint all over the brush. Just dip the first quarter of the tip of the brush in the paint and you won’t get too many splatters. Painters tape on the vanity will also help to get a fresh line of paint without getting paint on it but if you do get paint where it doesn’t belong, use Goo Be Gone!
Looking great ! Thanks for sharing .
Getting to look more like you can move in soon. Love the white. Bathroom is going to look good, with all the wood trim. I'd put that film on that bathroom window so you cannot see through it. Peace!
Bye-bye blueeeeee. Hello bright and fresh. Looks wonderful. Another step closer to fresh and clean.
ASMR paint segment
Your seeing the light at the end of the tunnel 😊.
You can add blue chalk powder to your primer. The kind at hardware store that you use for a chalk line. Then you can see spots you missed. Fyi. Hope it helps
So exciting!
I've really enjoyed this journey with you from the beginning till now I look forward to your videos each week 😊
You’ll need to paint over any primer you put on. It will degrade over time and chalk. So anything you put in that storage space will get covered in white dust. Anything that touches those walls will get white stuff on it. So you’re gonna have to paint in that storage space.
It's moving really quickly now and you will be moving IN shortly! What a major accomplishment, and you are so young, I'm sending good thoughts to you and Jay, also your whole family!
Looks so wonderful ❤😊
I just like saying Chantilly Lace.😊
I live on two busy streets I had to get use to it! The fire and rescue station is just 2 blocks away! Got used to that too!
I'm just amazed a how fast things are changing with your house!! It won't be long & you'll be enjoying your cup of coffee on your porch or just on a chair!! 🎉💕
When my Mom would paint, she would put her clothes on inside out so that they were not ruined by any paint splatters- worked great!
Amazing with just the primer paint, your progress is exciting. I imagine you are getting thrilled with how much closer you are to being near the end of your "fixing up" and making this your home. I am glad this area of Northern Northern New York has been having good weather, windy yes but the Rainy rainy times are becoming less often and quicker showers. (At least in Jefferson Co.). You and Jay and your other helpers are making quick progress. See you next time.
All your videos just make my heart sing 🎶 I am so grateful that I found your channel! 🙏💞
It comes to mind that tape is very handy to protect lines. But I am inclined to take chances and work with a damp wrag.
Most paint comes with primer built in so you don't need a second coat
Looks great!
Hi Abby, they make a thin Plastic Board I call an edging Board for tight spaces like this and Blue Panters tape,
A short time ago you talked about something to help you do some serious landscaping i suggest you check around for a compact tractor with a backhoe and a bucket. A low hour unit may be more cost effective. A second possibility is a sub compact tractor. Yout father may be know a reliable dealer or seller.
Definitely needs a second coat if primer.
The lace and primer: the primer looks hospital clinical white and Lace is softer without being dull
Looking good
Wow it’s a house . You did a Prime job.
Sweeet !!! This is my favorite, painting just brings it to life !
Everything is coming together beautifully! ❤
Well, from this side of the camera, it looks like you need another coat of primer… The room is definitely much brighter now!
Chantilly paint color is very nice can see the difference, beautiful!!! Exciting progress busy bees.
That’s a room I would have put in a mirror light in the ceiling it really brightens up a room
I would tape paper over your bathroom shelves to save a lot of hassle later to get any off. Just saying.😮😮😮😊
Hi Abbey!
A suggestion....
Personal experience has taught me not to believe the claims by paint manufacturers that their paint is 'easy clean' on the walls and ceiling.
Because of moisture and steam in bathroom walls and ceilings do require wiping down and cleaned more frequently.
That is why I painted my bathroom with glossy enamel latex paint. Enamel latex paint is truly an easy clean and wipe down and that's why I am suggesting it to you.
And always do at least 2 undercoats of primer.
I agree that glossy paint is easier to clean, but it just looks so awful imo.
@@heidi9569 latex enamel is available in a matte finish or a glossy finish. The glossy is definitely easier to clean that the matte. Either is more superior than normal satin finish latex. I guess it depends on one's personal preference, but I personally have no disliking to the appearance of glossy latex enamel paint.
amazing
It looks great & your choice of paint is excellent. Love it.
On the ledge you could add some plants to give a good feeling. I would think the right plants would do well steam and water possibly. White walls should help the brightness. Getting happy to get closer to a home.
I want to buy you a 4 or 6 inch roller after watching this.😆
