The thing I like about Flick is that, ignoring his time with Germany, he is a winner. He won everything with Bayern, so he clearly knows what it takes to win. My only issue is that the Bayern team he had was incredibly good, so I don't know how he'd manage with a team that isn't as good. 55m for a 17 year old that we won't be able to get until 2027 is completely ludicrous. A year at most, and if we can, send him to strasbourg with Paez so they can play with each other and get european experience. Also, he would be our fifth right sided player. Palmer, Madueke, Angelo, Hutchinson, Paez, now him. We can't play them all, and I have more faith in Palmer, Madueke and Paez. If Poch gets us into Europe, I'm willing, providing we overhaul our transfer strategy and listen to him, to give him one more season. If we're not back in the champions league or winning silverware by then, sack him. The only manager I think we should be looking at is Amorim. He's a project manager and he has players that we want.

We need to stop changing managers after 1 season. It only works if your squad is balanced with stars, seasoned pros and young talents. Seasoned pros raise the floor where you don't bottle your wins vs Burnely and Sheffiled. Stars raise the ceiling to unseen levels and young talents absorb everything happening around. Our floor is down there and belongs to mid-table. Ceiling is high though and we've seen it many times this season. Tuchel is definitely not coming, due to obvious reasons. Amorim plays in a completely different formation and would sell Gyokeres to Winstanley as an ultimate remedy. That is despite a gaping hole in our spending and FFP pressure that is 100% gonna be alleviated by selling Connor and Trev. We definitely can't spend so what is the point for appointing Flick or Conte? I would only be intrigued by Motta maybe. Poch has 1 year left and let's just see how he works on the current momentum: 1 loss in last 11 PL games with two abovementioned throws at Bridge. Team looks more structured and composed in latter matches. If he keeps results inconsistent in early next season and we find ourselves mid-table next season, which I doubt, his contract would be on its ending and then, when there is money in summer 25, we can take our chances with someone different.

  • @Omegaxxxfly

If they leave Pochettino for one more season, nothing will change and the most likely thing is that he will be fired in December, which means that the club will be out of Europe for the third season in a row, and the little prestige it still has left as a club It's going to go to hell.
I don't know if this version of Flick is ideal, but it's worth trying something new, with a manager who has won everything, rather than continuing with a loser, who always has an excuse when things go wrong, not to mention that his methods of training are worse than a medieval torture dungeon, 14 injured players, of which 3 injured for an entire season, is ridiculous.

The Amorim sexuals in the comments cannot fathom how he has literally the same tactical weakness as Poch without Poch's experience, player development, and man management.
What's the point of getting the manager of exact profile but worse? Maybe at least change an element of style, or go for an experienced coach. Replacing a coach popular in the dressing room with a 39 year old getting bailed out by Gyokeres week in week out is some unprecedented bs.
The only way we get Amorim is if the clubs wants to use him as a bait to bring in Gyokeres and sack him while he loses the dressing room by christmas.
Flick's Bayern after his new manager bounce was pretty underwhelming in terms of the attack-defense balance. They kept 15 clean sheets in his second season at Bayern. That is an embarrassing return considering it was Bayern in the Bundesliga, and two of the clean sheets game in the club world cup. Conceded 65 goals in 50 games. Arguably similar tactical issues to Poch. But he's got the mental edge, will command a higher degree of respect and could be a more sensible gamble than Amorim if we are to sack Poch.

@@zikorajoe7093 He won a league title, a UCL semi and was cruising against Madrid before Donnarumma passed Benzema the ball twice in 6 mins. I don't think he did worse with PSG than any other coach they've had in the last 10 years.
And I would take Flick if they want a change of ideas/experience in the dugout. But I cannot process the Amorim obsession. Very talented young coach but in no universe is he a better coach than Poch currently. Maybe after a season or two more.
The club is seriously dusted if they get rid of a manager popular in the dressing room for a 39 yr old when the squad severely needs stability. Flick has the authority to protect the players, and so does Poch. But Amorim, with his inexperience, overexposed 3 atb system which he has not looked to fix in 3 years now, is going to make matters literally worse.
Again, I have reservations with Flick, and with Poch, but both of them at least fit the squad profile, which is perfect for a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. Get Flick if you want that winning edge over Poch.
Honestly, what does Amorim do better than Poch? One has won a league title in Portugal. Other has managed at the top for over 10 years, took Spurs to title contenders in the PL, a UCL final, one semi with PSG and has developed some of the best talent around the game.
Either choose winning experience or player development, and Amorim is the second best in both aspects.
