There is a euphoric feeling in Croatia for this tournament because they have a great team and confidence. They have won a medal in every tournament except this one and the team has had it in their heads for a few years now to finally fight for a medal at this tournament. They know how to play these big games and to fight, hopefully they can do it.

Kad bi došli u finale politička prostitucija u vrhu FIFA, UE FA bi odlučila kako 🇭🇷 ne smije pobijediti.

Don't worry about the Croatian attack. This team has scored 4 goals against Canada at the WC, 4 goals against the Netherlands at NL semifinals, 4 goals against Egypt...
With Albania is the same story as with Canada in Qatar and we know how it all ended. Very experienced and real tournament team, they can beat anyone in the knockout round.
The support from the Croatian fans in Germany will be huge, basically a home advantage in every single game... I believe that Kramaric will also be particularly inspired beacuse he scored so many goals in Bundesliga for Hoffenheim. Gvardiol will play in "his" Lepizig, Stanisic is born in Germany and he is in great form.
Croatia can really hardly flop in Germany. There are a lot of great teams at euros and they will need some luck to reach the semi-finals. Croatia is a good bet overall

The mistake people make is saying we over perform. Croatia has great players all the time ,they are just always underestimated ,that's all. I can argue Croatia has actually played at its best in the euros ,just no luck.

Croatia looks pretty hot in attack though this year. Budimir being almost top scorer in La Liga until injury, Kramarić casually saving Hoffenheim every game, Perišić just scored the best goal of his life and he has proven his shape, Mario Pašalić is often scoring the whole season, Petković is on fire of course... Maybe we can lift the trophy this time.

I think the issue at the euros for Croatia are usually that they are in cyclical transitions between WC cycles... barring 2016 where the generation was coming into its prime but there was an unstable coaching situation

People thought 2008, 2016, and 2021 were the unfortunate events for Croatia in Euros, but they still showed a good fights.
In 2008, after winning 3 out of 3 group games, including beating eventual finalist Germany, they were so close to face Germany again in the semifinal, when Turkey scored very last minute goal in extra time (immediately after Croatia took the lead) to level the scoreline and then went on to win on penalty shootout.
In 2016, they upset defending champions Spain to top the group once more, but they got an unlucky Round of 16 draw with Portugal, at which Portugal scored a winning goal in the extra time and then went on to win the entire thing.
In 2021, against Spain, they made a comeback before the normal time ended (3-3), but Spain scored 2 winning goals in the extra time.
@@ezraezra2928about that score 5:3 for Spain in extra time... I remember after the initial 90 minutes and stoppage time, in extra time everything went crazy. Both teams played very open and risky, counter attack after counter attack. Croatia got the first chance, I believe Manđukić was 1 on 1 with goalkeeper and keeper saved, and Spanish scored that very next attack, and then we all knew we're f.cked. 😅
But that epic comeback from 3:1 to 3:3 was something else. We celebrated like we won the whole thing, happy just to be showing the teeth to the giants.

I think our attack is massively underrated because most of our players play in Croatian Clubs: Petković (Dinamo Zagreb), Perišić (Hajduk Split), Pjaca and Marco Pašalić (Rijeka). Although we have excellent goal machines like Kramarić and Budimir.

Its pretty simple actually, Zlatko Dalic the current head coach of Croatia only had 1 go at Euros so far and 2 World Cups. Look what hes done in those 2 world cups. @@andrewjoyce9038 Gvardiol is better than either by a country mile. You're insane if you think otherwise. The skill gap is pretty wide here.
The Croatian attack will look very different this time around than what we're used to seeing in the last few years. There will be some new names (and some returning names) that will finally get the chance to prove themselves on the big stage.
I'm sure Dalic is aware of that and that he'll change the offensive approach a bit to make sure they play in a way they feel the most comfortable with.
That said, you can expect wingers to be quite a bit more aggressive at attacking the box this time around, instead of just sending in crosses to eventually find someone in a scoring chance.
Also don't be surprised if we see Gvardiol at left back.

Perisic played a few games at LB and was solid, he can also contribute to attack as well. This will allow space on LW to try Pjaca who hopefully can find his form or Ivanusec who has played well there.
I hope for Perišić - Pjaca combo, both have excellent dribbling and 1 on 1 game

I don't agree that Petković suits us more. Petković is not a classic striker. He plays more like a playmaker than a striker and he doesn't run that much and is not so useful in defense. Budimir is a real striker that lurks inside 16 meters. He also is much more mobile and aggressive. I think with what we have in the midfield Budimir is more suitable for our team. Especially in the games against Spain Budimir knows most of the players from the league and he showed that he can score against them. Croatia will have to focus more on defending, fast counters, corners and crosses inside 16 meters and that's where Budimir is the strongest.
Our power is in our hart and our mentality. We play all right for clubs but as some national championship is nearing we just get in form. Examples:Kramaric, Pasalic, Gvardiol, Stanisic,Pjaca, Budimir,Petković. Plus you still have trio in midfield(Modric, Kovacic, Brozovic). Perisic recovered. Sosa and Šutalo had an Ajax problem(worst Ajax in history)...plus Livakovic had that incident where he was attacked. Long story short most of our first team is on top form but we seem weaker overall then in 2022 wc(we miss Orsic and Livaja). A little add on: we have a lot of top talents and they are still not in team like Baturina, Vuskovic,Simic(i am not sure what is going on with Sucic?).
Tough group, but Spain, Italy and Albania can still fight for the second and third place

With Croatia u never know,curently we are in a good position,most of the players had good seasons,last friendly game against Portugal looked good,bench looks promising,Sucic is really good potential and overall if we pass the group stage its all open..we can beat anyone,and further we go its harder to eliminate us,we have experience,results,reputation now and in my opinion Croatia is on 6 or 7th place of favourites this torunament..
when you say that Croatia overperforms , what do you mean by that? it sounds like a disparaging statement to this great soccer team and the Nation. the GREAT teams show up at the competitions. the mediocre teams not so much!
Anybody who says Croatia underperforms neither has played football nor understands it. Even a casual fan should be able to understand what it means to produce players like Modric, Kovacic, Gvardiol, Mandzukic, Rakitic, Stanisic, Boban, Suker, Boksic, even way back players like Velemir Zajec.

Look, from 2008, from Modric era, Croatian squad mostly plays very very good.
But, every time we needed a bit more luck or we were very close to create some good result.
[2008]: Great plays in group. Won against Germany 2:0. Played against Turkey in quarter final, conceded a goal for 1:1 in 121 minute and eventually lost on penalties.
[2012]: Very though group. Won against Ireland, 1:1 against Italy and played very good against Spain. Rakitic had dead chance for 1:0, missed. Eventually conceded a goal and lost 1:0. At the end Spain and Italy played at finals.
[2016]: Played really great tournament, in my opinion the best so far. Played better than Portugal in eights finals, had very good chance for 1:0, missed it and at the end Portugal won 1:0. Portugal won the tournament. Really that tournament we played the best football, for sure.
[2021]: Not so good tournament, Rakitic, Mandukic stopped playing for national team. Still, Kramaric head good chance to go 4:3 against Spain. At the end Spain won, but yeah, Spain were definitely better team.
All in all, every tournament we needed just a bit more luck and concentration to gain better result

Sorry but, as a fellow hrvat you're wrong about Brozovic. He's lost a step since joining the Saudi league. Been watching us since the qualifiers for the 98 WC so try me. We have a solid D, a veteran mid but no speed up front. Plus Perisic also lost a step. In the end we have no one for the left wing. It's gonna be a grind. Ovaj put necu da se nadam.
The main favorites are France, Spain, England and the host Germany. Favorites from the second plan are Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, the Netherlands and Denmark. It would be a big surprise if another country reached the semi-finals.😄
For Croatia anything between round of 16 to another semi-final is possible. It will depend on whether they can sort out their attack. Otherwise the only way they make it deep is by pushing it all the time to pens.

First I must say that statistics are very deceiving things. According to statistics, Croatia achieved better results at world cups than at Euros. That is true, but in my humble opinion and the opinion of many people in Croatia, our team played better football at the Euros. Much nicer and more dynamic football, of course not at every Euro, but at most where Croatia played. And if you look at Croatia's most beautiful actions and goals in major tournaments, the majority are from the Euros.
Then the real question should be asked.
Why were there no results then?
There are certainly a lot of people who think that Croatia was very lucky on many occasions at the World Cup, but exactly THAT factor was missing from the euro. So, that is some kind of balance in the force, any Jedi would say that..
Maybe luck doesn't exist, maybe there aren't even coincidences. The only thing that is certain is that these things are not in the statistics.
Sometimes one moment is enough. some specific event at the match to change everything. And after that, everything opens up for the better. And not only for that match, but for the entire tournament. And sometimes the opposite happens and everything falls apart.
The fact is that Croatia has a great team and that these guys are capable of doing a lot. Will they do that? Let's wait and see. Very soon..IGRAJ MOJA HRVATSKA! Use the force Luka!!
