Isaiah is one talented person I hope you take good care of him. Definitely an asset to your channel.
I'm convinced robs dreams wouldn't have become even a shadow of now without Isaiah. I wish the rx8 wasn't such a meme, I'd love to see him go absolutely ham on fabrication.
Remember that assistant on much earlier Rob's videos? I forgot his name. He made a mistake picking a fight with Rob.
@@tariqziyad1338 I do remember him, I can't remember his name either. He was okay. But yeah, major fuck-up on his part, because when Isaiah parts from Rob eventually, he can use all of these videos in his portfolio and get hired anywhere.
@@tariqziyad1338 Jarret 🤣 He was good comedy and did camerawork but not much else. EDIT: I don't think he picked a fight with Rob though, and left amicably
@@PlayinWithMahWii might be referring to Abel
DO NOT use brake cleaner to clean parts before welding. Some brake cleaners have chlorine in them which creates phosgene gas when welding. Phosgene is extremely lethal even at low parts per billion. Stay safe.
This should definitely be top comment.
Most brake cleaners you get nowadays are chlorine free.
Chlorinated brake cleaner is illegal in California so not a concern for them
Isopropyl alcohol for the win ! 🤟
They're using AutoZone branded brake cleaner, it's non-chlorinated.
PLEASE give Isaiah's rx8 some love. Dude works hard and deserves a sick ride
Dude is awesome but the rx8 is lame
@@dreleen9614 a widebody makes rx8s look absolutely amazing, definitely not lame, he needs a widebody and a new motor.
Or get him an RX7 and build that up. He definitely deserves it.
@@Eradicationist You are right that it needs a widebody kit. Would definitely make it less lame.
I have to say I tried the "Rub the tip" trick and I got an extra 45 seconds. Thanks Rob. Keep up with the helpful tips.
Double the time.. nice
Same
Isaiah is definitely one hell of a welder/fabricator!! Awesome watching him.
I think a long detailed video of how Isiah became such a FabGod, is in order. Just him talking about how he got the knowledge and skill to do this kind of work. Then transitioning into how you two started working together and making the magic we see now. I'd watch the fuck out of that for sure
Absolutely gorgeous welding shots, Joel!
22:03 Goes to show how important excellent welds are. Note how the heat evenly spreads from Isaiah's weld. If it were shit, it would eventually crack from that kind of action. Beautiful shot!
It will still crack eventually next to the weld, you can't escape it. Enough heat cycling and movement, just takes time.
@@mattt83 The weld should be stronger than the original material, it shouldn't ever crack. Looks good to me
4:16 i have a 50 liter sealable container where i dip all my pipes before welding. With a small acetone resistant pump, and a few hoses to chain them up, i can flush them a couple of minutes until all the grime is out. They come out minty fresh, just perfect for welding. Especially aluminium stuff. Just chef's kiss. Old trick from a guy i used to know at an industrial welder shop.
Twin mufflers(if you're gonna still do it) and quad corvette tips would look awesome 👌
THIS THIS THIS!
That single exhaust tip looks so weird on a vette..
@@BenDeSwert666 yep, it's a dead giveaway that it's engine swapped 😂
If you have drive by wire you can reduce the ramp rate of the throttle opening. I'm sure slowing something down is ideally NOT what you want to do but most of the time smoother is faster...
Could be a good way to keep the engine safe and keep the car driving in the interim while a fuelling “fix” is found
Some stainless steels are indeed magnetic. The magnet test does not indicate if a material is for sure not stainless. The bung he had to repair could have been stainless material. The magnetic types of are Ferritic stainless steels such as grades 409, 430 and 439. Martensitic stainless steel such as grades 410, 420, 440 are also magnetic. Basically, a magnet will stick to those materials.
Love these in-depth videos. I have no clue what you're talking about half the time, but the way you explain things gives me the best shot of understanding that I ever will get and keeps my attention the whole time.
Literally me every video
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how far these guys have come and how incredible all the information they provide is... I love that not only am I entertained, I'm learning so much about all manner of random things that almost every other channel just skips.... Thank you Rob and team for the absolutely wonderful videos and adventure you're letting us be part of!
The cinematography, the Fab, the Mad scientist, you can just see how everyone is so obsessed with their skill, all of you guys were already so skilled but now you guys are really taking it to the next level, this is insane work everyone is just amazing. Great job guys, really!
Rob always finds a way to drive his cars fenderless
Always & with no hood.
13:34, this welding edit sequence starting around here deserves to be in the GOAT convo. Some seriously cool shots guys, big ups
Love watching Isaiah explain his welds
That welding shot through the mask was sick to see for non-welders.
I didn't realize it was through the mask
Welding that super thin pipe to those massive flanges is and of itself, a work of art. Beautiful.
Love the more in depth fab stuff and instructions from Isaiah! I’d love more of that in the other videos too :) So glad he is on the team! Also Joel’s shots and edits are looking so cleannn. Everyone on the team is doing amazing!
It’s called playing to your strengths. Amazing to watch you guys build and realize issues and bring us along for the ride.
Watching Isiah work his magic and drop knowledge on welding, exhaust systems (and fabrication in general) has become one of the most attractive things on the channel for me.
True WORK OF ART.
(I've followed the channel since 20b vs r35 was in the making)
Daddy Dahm has blessed us again.
Kevin?
As a guy who loved welding but only ever got to do stick/arc and MIG, I really appreciate the low exposure/welding mask shots so we can see exactly what's going on with the TIG! Plus, Isaiah's work is pure art and I love how he breaks down what he's doing and his thought processes.
I could watch an hour long video of Isaiah welding/fabricating 😍
Joel, you didn’t have to go so damn hard on everyone else with this editing and film work. Great job.
Fab Daddy outdoing yesterdays Fab Daddy video after video. Keep on killing it guys. You’ve got one amazing and passionate crew here Rob.
The welding shot at 8:01 was simply awesome. Good work guys!
It's great to see you guys constantly elevate your builds. No more lazy and obnoxious screamer pipes, but spending the time to route the wastegates back into the exhaust... bravo!
Manifold came out great, personally I would've back purged anything before turbo. I mostly like the smooth transitions of back purged welds.
This is probably one of the best episodes on this channel. Love watching Isaiah welding
The Mexican metal surgeon..what a legend.👍👍👍
Cool name
HAHAHA
Bruh you better put some more respect on his name😂
Honestly so blessed to have this channel available for free, I’ve leant sooo much over the years. Thanks Guys 🙏🏻❤️
Shoutout to Isaiah you are getting so comfortable in front of the cam! Tips are awesome
I absolutley love it dude. This is the same process i use to design kwads. Tiny optimizations like, using titanium/carbon, removing unnecessary emf, power factor correction, and lots of pid cleanup.
I'm just your standard production mig guy learning some tig.. And Isaiah's work just blows my mind. Always so in depth. Love it.
This has been my favorite video in a while. Watching Isaiah fabricating is zen.
Well done with the higher production value "feel." Sharing Isaiahs attention to detail in your builds is refreshing. Great job guys!
honestly its about time i love seeing those arc shots by far one of my fav things to see in a video with welding
Superb video Rob and team! Thanks for the commitment to great content every time!
i just wanted to say i loved all the montages and all the work Isiah did . I loved seeing him weld so close up .
CONGRATS on 1 MILLION Subscribers!!!
Keep up the EXCELLENT work!
Rob you have an amazing team. Love watching you guys work, and the quality of videos is as always aweso
Please give us more videos featuring Isaiah. His calm, laid-back presentation is so informative, and the pure talent he displays is amazing..
Love seeing how well it illustrates a change on the exhaust side greatly affecting VE/response/driveability. Shielding each rotor during the extra overlap phase with a divided setup made it happy.
Some REALLY good tips for fabricating in there too!
Rob has the idea's and Isaiah as the welding skills. what you call a perfect team. Or in other words. fit together so well. Like a plug and socket. Read in to it as you will...
Rob, Your and Isaiah make me want to be better at life. You guys just Go right at it, what an inspiration. I take delivery of my first FD on 15th august. its a 2001 series 8 Type R and I've waited for this day since I was 14 (now 33)
Finally hit a million subs! Congrats man! You've been hanging just under for so long!
I can't believe I find so much satisfaction watching the welding process. Isaiah is a true artist at what he does.
Isaiah's work is always impressive
Watching Isaiah work makes feel like I either
A. don’t enjoy what I do as much as I lead myself to believe(self-employed) or
B. I need to strive to have better work ethic.
This car has become one of my favorites against all odds. Issaiah is the true master fabricator of your shop!
The welding shots are so gorgeous , hats off Joel!
absolutely loving the education you guys are putting out.
I don’t know if you guys actually spend a lot of time reading comments or not but I just wanna say; your channel has a very unique feel to it, I’ve never seen anybody else on CZcams post such captivating vehicle content especially at the length of video you guy make. As well as the filming is amazing, with the b roll shots and perfectly visible and understandable close ups.
Keep up the great work guys!
I really appreciate the tips that you and Isaiah give, especially the amount of detail that Isaiah gave this time around. I know a lot of people don't give out tips like that since ultimately it's their trade and they want to be valuable.
@WhatsApp👉plus①④⓪⑧⑥④①①⑧⑦④ Oh my god no way! wow so cool! -_-
The welding shots in the video are dope. Love what you all are doing
That press fit into the flanges is sooooo satisfying and such a smart way to hold its position b4 welded
And I hope I can weld like this one day! I already love to make my own things so being able to make them come out that beautiful and strong is a big goal of mine.
Sick video. Love the welding, keep up the hard work guys.
Really good build montages! You guys have really got that dialed in :)
Love the additional welding tips and tricks from Isaiah.
Man I could watch Isaiah weld for hours. Editing is getting better by the second as well, love you all
I love to see the TIG work super cool just like the rest of the content Thanks guys!
As I grow older I truely appreciate someone who has such passion and pride in their work. Isaiah, you are something truely special.
Isaiah is a master craftsman. so satisfying to watch
It was fun watching Isaiah weld. Keep going! This is great!
Congrats on 1,000,000 subscribers!
When it comes to these welding videos Isaiah always makes an excelent job. Some love for the rx 8 would be great
After those gates were recirculated... Just from the idle blips. At least I KNEW, shits about to get serious.
Nice work fellas!
I love seeing progress
Loved the way you hung that turbo for mock-up!
Dahm, that turbo sounds so much happier. Isaiah is a badass.
Gotta say, you had me at "OR gate ignition."
I love practical hardware logic.
Those super close up welding shots are sick!
So much valuable information here.. thanks guys! cant wait for the dyno content.
Congrats on 1 million subscribers Rob!
Loving the fab montages and the burble recordings!
Isaiah crushing it on the fab work 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Congrats on 1 mil
Congrats on 1 millions subs Rob!
The filming and edits in this was on point 👌
those beauty shots during welding with these awesome music always get me!
I'm here and I'm so glad u started working on this thing
really nice video as always. this again shows that isaiah earned the name fabrication father. also nice work to your media bois for this really calming "sunday morning sipping coffee on your front porch" vibe. I always think it would be cool/funny if the RGB Keyboard would match the the fuelmap.
Iterative development like this is key to discovering what truly works. A lot of people never get to push their parts step by step like this because they don't make them themselves. And when you buy a part like an exhaust manifold, you feel like you have to use it. A lot of people feel almost like they have to use the part they bought in order to get their value from it. And it's just different when you build your own parts because you don't necessarily feel as beholden to the part because you know you can make a better one with what you learn. A lot of people would have used that turbo manifold for years before they considered changing it simply because of the cost they sunk into having it made. But it's awesome that Isaiah doesn't feel that way and is willing to experiment with new materials to learn stuff for the future. This is the key to how F1 teams truly develop the next generation of technology.
Isaiah is a godsend.
Rob had better appreciate how much Isaiah brings to Rob's projects.
at this point rob, maybe you should just turn the street in front of ur shop into a mini dragstrip 😂
We laugh, but i wonder when, not if, he's going to get in trouble for that. From personal experience when i was a kid, there's only so much people can take.
@@aserta yeah.. it's pretty much inevitable, but i still hope he doesnt get in trouble for it.. who knows folks living nearby are all gearhead like us who get orgasmic everytime the 4 rotor do a run..and no karen 🤷🏻♂️
@@aserta luckily, his shop seems to be in a warehousing area, so there's less people to worry about
Seeing the dimes being laid down is pretty awesome. thanks for that camera angle
Isaiah is the man! His fab skills are top notch.
A pair of artists at work, great to watch.
Welding oxy bungs in i use an old sencor to protect the threads . Its a heatsink that helps . Never had threads lock in like you had . I like welding stainless better than normal steal . I also use purple tips for everything now . Used to use thoriated and zirconium rods but the purple tip E3 rods work good on everything .
Are those rare earth?
Amazing work! Next LS fest is gonna be awesome
Creds to rob, what stared out as a "joke" is now a beautifull build. He really goes all out!
Rob, as much of a dreamboat you are.... we need more Isaiah videos like this! ❤️❤️
Isaiah my man. he lays pipe so well
The another thing I make to my FB is divide tubes from the headers, the exhaust system to way back for not get problem with the exhaust pulses.
I think the welds make a big difference too. At this level you should either bend it from one piece and polish the inside welds on the ends or do it with a lot of pieces polishing the inside for every piece. Porting is key for na or super high power turbo engines.
I'm actually really stoked on the C5 project. It's pretty and I like the driveability and relative simplicity. I'd really like to see this thing on track after some really good shake downs.
isiah is a master. that new exhaust and wastegate setup looks stunning. so damn good.
321 is perfect for turbo manifolds. Used in diesels for the same reason, granted it's 321 sch. 40. Usually.
Turbo diesels operate with ~1000-1400 degree exhaust
Rotaries are in the 2000-2500 degree range
All the money inconel wins ✅
@@ValentineC137 aren't turbo diesel engine exhaust temperature usually far more cooler than the gasoline turbo engine exhaust temperature (i mean pistons because i know rotaries produce a lot of heat compared to the former)?
@@mehdikhelifi9325 looking around then 1800 has been mentioned and even 1900 from a tuned car dyno run.
Modern cars stock hit ~1600
@@ValentineC137 got it! Thanks a lot for the info🙌
wow that paper test was the most simple yet genius thing
you guys make a great team and a cute couple. i'm glad you found each other =)
