Rob be my father
Why didn’t you use corvette style tips? That single tip looks weird. Corvette style tips would make it incognito when not running.
Rob's B-roll... KINO
Whiskers on kittens
You should partner up with Borla for an exhaust. I am sure You are stunned too, to how ya 2rotor can soud.
Amazed by Isaiah's attention to detail, like how he always uses Rob's welding gloves. The ones clearly marked "Not Isaiah's"
Weld done ✔
It could be a typo
I was thinking the exact same thing! "ROB...NOT ISAIAH".
Lmao loved it
Every time, ggz-😁👽👍
Gotta love how Isaiah ALWAYS uses the glove that says “ROB, not Isaiah” when welding…. Ahh friendship lol
Isaiah..i never noticed... you have an unbelievably steady hand while welding. completly mezmorizing brother. also the camera work and editing was on point joel. i replayed the exhaust welding too many times!! thumbs up guys! love you rob!
Homie could be a surgeon, I was cursed with the shaky hands
My wife was dancing to the music that was used during the welding footage 🤣👍
@@brianrobinson9979 ok🤦🏻♂️🙄🤦🏻♂️
@@brianrobinson9979 naked?
When you rest your hand on something that tends to happen...
Love how he does a boost pull, sets a car alarm off, then the following clip all you hear is sirens in the background 😂😂 probably not for him but still a crack up
Finally a CZcams car channel fabricating a proper exhaust 🙏. Getting kinda sick of obnoxious straight pipes on everything.
isiah is so good at fabrication and welding wow him and rob are such a great team especially with joel doing the camera and editing
Whoever put together the exhaust welding montage pat yourself on the back. Enjoyed that.
The vette is getting closer and closer to final form. Well as final as a project car can be haha
Can't wait to hear it with parallel mufflers
I hope he goes with the factory quad tip exhaust just to make it look OEM when it's parked.
@@iraqifoodcart8447 that'd be clean af, I'm for it
@@iraqifoodcart8447 I hope so, too. looks kinda empty in that rear bumper right now. If he ends up going for the split design, then it's largely like it was before, with two pipes coming out of each muffler. Otherwise, Isaiah will have to weld four piped together, though the extra pipes don't need to be open on the inside, as it's mainly for cosmetics at that point
Killing it with the cinematography and the music score. The Isaiah welding montage, and the editing of it is on point too. Good work gents👏
I swear isaiah's fab skills just take massive leaps from vid to vid. it's amazing to see his progress since when he first joined rob.
idk i think it's not so much his skills improving as he's getting the chance to showcase what he can do, with Rob's budget steadily rising. But either way I'm thoroughly enjoying it too
What a pleasure to watch Isaiah work his magic welds... Its art! I would have loved to see the 4 exhaust tips out the back of the Corvette for that genuine look....
Love seeing the Rotary Corvette getting more attention. Keep it up Rob
Joel has become the video Master. Rob you know how good these guys are. The welding and fabrication is superb, the video brilliant. Always a joy to watch these.
14:40
"..i've told the car that the engine is no longer producing any torque, which is true of a rotary engine."
-rob dahm
The corvettes got to him rip
14:45 LMAO that was awesome. Its the subtle things about Rob's humor that make me laugh 🤣.
What I hope to see when all the cars are done, is a video of putting them all on the Dyno to see the power differences from 2 to 3 to 4 rotors.
I really like the extra mile with the integration of the stock systems. SO good.
Rob, it's pretty amazing to see how far you have come, with both the channel, and your skills as a car builder. Sharing all your lessons along the way, the victories and the failures. The Rotary Corvette sounds amazing now. If you had a double muffle, with a bypass valve, you could make the Rotary Vette sound "perfect" all the time.
Isaiah is a boss when he's welding, just zoned out in his chair at the vice. He has comfort and patience to do the job. It's a balance, like the exhaust itself, and how much is too much.
Isaiah: "I'm very comfortable with 3.5 inches. Just really used to it." 😂
Isaiah is really that guy when it comes to welding … you guys are rotary legends 🤙🏽
Love watching Isaiah weld. True artwork. Like the Bob Ross of welding
Just got home after a long day and it's always great to relax on the couch watching Rob!
At 6mins 50 when you do a boost pull and then the syrens in the back ground close the garage doors man lol great video and car stuff Rob and crew
omg the filming and editing of this video was amazing! and ofc shout out to Isaiah for being so meticulous
Isaiah is such a true artist he does exactly what I’ve always dreamt of doing I’ve just not had the funds to start but a true asset to have on the crew
I love all the little tips and tricks and info you guys provide that seem like common knowledge, because I genuinely sometimes don’t know them. Watching your videos has inspired me to learn as much as I can and teach myself as much as possible and I’ve been loving following your journey man! THANK YOU!
I can’t wait to see all your cars in person. I love this channel so much.
Those welds Isaiah lays down are so perfect such amazing detail going on 🤙👍💪
Checked in, time to relax and watch the rotary god.
More like the rotary pope. He’s bringing the attention to the rotary engine. He’ll admit he is not a rotary genius he just loves them. A love I’m jealous of.
When you get diameter and length switched, such a common problem. Loving the videos
That's what she said.
OMG Silentcrafter's music as background to a Rob Dahm video ? I'm in heaven!
Isaiah you do impeccable work, you take welding to an amazing form of art! I love watching you work.
Welding job is so STUNNING guys !!
WELL DONE 👏👏👏👏👏👏
If Rob ever has a son the kid will be a legend from the knowledge he could get from both of them
From both of his dads
@@sensoryoverload673 they should have a lab split a sperm from each of them and get a surrogate
No female legends allowed!
@@sensoryoverload673 beat me to it!
That exhaust was beautiful. Also I had an idea for many years but I don’t think I’ll be be able to bring it to life, what if you do semi P with a throttle blade on the intake of the side ports that only opens after certain RPM to control the overlap. To have good idle vacuum and good top rpm airflow
I am really impressed with your work here, especially the electronics.
Isaiah is a true artist. Love watching him weld.
Love the music with the montages love every video you put out. Hands down my favorite non gaming content on youtube
I sure miss the days of having a Radio Shack nearby to buy electronic components from vs having to buy in bulk online... but they are the ones that made the decision to be the Arduino and mobile phone accessory shop.
Same here in England with Tandy and Maplin
@@MattyEngland I think Tandy owned Radioshack, so I can't say I'm surprised...
Always love watching Isaiah weld
Saw him weld without a mask, my dad used to do that and he didnt get to be 70, take care of ur selfs guys... i mean he also didnt use masks ever while painting cars or stuff either cus he was oldschool but you know.. all the fumes and shit yikes.
I remember he had a buddy working his shop, and they where removing parts from old cars for scrappage, and the exhaust pipe was stuck to cata, so while empying tank of gasoline he used angle grinder to cut it of, and the sparks lit the tank that we emptied fuel into on fire. He panicked, and ran around looking for a fire exstinguiser my dad just got a blanket and turned the valv of while smoking his sig and threw the blanket on... all calm like.. Safty wasnt the first priority :P
Anyways watching you work remind me of him and growing up around the cars and the workshop.. so hope to keep watching you work.
Great choice in music during the welding sequences!!!
The rotary Corvette is one of the coolest thing ever built in my opinion. Constantly evolving as you gain more knowledge and ability. I love the progression I'm seeing guys, keep on killin it!
The song at 13:20 has the damn weather alert warning sound from TV. Being from a hurricane and flood prone area, it gives me PTSF
I love the background music when papi rob was using the heat gun. Very calming
Isaiah you do impeccable work! Your welds look like Art.
The literal most Perfect thing you can do with an engine swap like that is make the car think it’s got the old engine. I love it
You know dude's a real 1 when random cats show up, N instead of hishing them away he hits-um off wit food.. MUCH RESPECT ROB..stay winning
Bravo, you hit 1million subs. Well done man, it’s well deserved
Love the experimenting with muffler/resonator combos. With headphones on, I can definitely hear the differences
That exhaust pipe is a mighty fine work art. Love the detail.
Beautiful work Isaiah
I would be okay watching Isaiah weld for 10 hours. Man that's beautiful.
You guys crush hard, what a bunch of legends! 👊👊👊
Rob, you are becoming quite the Corvette computer con man! Lovin it!
Wow Rob you know your electric wiring and components there that's amazing how you know this hats off to you for tech know how man
Corvette said *Brap Brap Brap Brap*
That shit hit different
At this point, I don't know how many hours of Isaiah welding I've watched. But I would watch them all! Great content as always.
Isaiah is an incredible welder and fabricator. Also at the beginning I was wondering about hard mounting the entire exhaust to the car, and at the end they mention what issue came with the hard mounts
Love the welding gloves!
I freaking LOVE this project!
Quite possibly the coolest rotary in the Dahm stable. Match made in brap brap heaven
Certainly the true final form of this build has to be that damn Check Engine light finally going out.
The welding sequence was very meditaive, on top of showing Isalah's mastery
I love watching Isaiah weld, he's an artist!
Loving the fab montage
Love the rave section of the video
I could watch Fab Daddy weld for hours. So smooth.
Just woke up from a nap and just started eating, thank you Mr. Dahm
I wish Isiah made a welding CZcams channel… I definitely would be stuck on the art he makes
I love this car! And haha, the one thing my Chevy Beretta and this rotary Corvette have in common is not initially putting a flex joint on the exhaust and hearing a concerning noise :D.
Love how you can tell which videos are "from the archives" based on the length of his hair and/or beard/mustache.
This one is either pre-michigan or brand new after a haircut and shave.
your guy is an artist with piping
Hey congrats at 1m subs rob!
I think the 2 mufflers is definitely best, curious how it'll be in parallel vs series, but just the 1 muffler sounded a lil raspy for my taste (but maybe that was just the camera) still it sounds SOOO much better!!
Music is 🔥in this episode.
That sounds so good and it fits the car now 🤘🏻😁😁
i love using the glass 16 for SS too it does wonders
The Borla XR-1 race muffler comes in 3.5" and that's all I'll ever use from now on. It's the best straight through muffler design and yields the best sound without the drone that I've ever experienced.
B roll music was on point today. Almost wanted the weld pools to follow the beat.
Best sounding Rotary I was ever involved with was a high comp 3 Rotor with a gt42. It was running a custom built lava rock muffler mid car. (FD) It sounded absolutely demonic. Nothing sounded similar. Also, if it's on twin external gates, X them up... The sound gets real interesting. 😉
X-ing an exhaust is really only done when you have 2 separate exhausts coming from different headers (usually a V engine) to even out the flow and pressure pulses on each side.
Doing it all the way at the back of a single exhaust that just splits for mufflers seems like a lot of extra work for little benefit, it probably won't affect the sound all that much if it happens just before the tips, not to mention they don't have the space to make the bends and X the exhaust back there.
Got all the time in the day for Isaiah"s welding!
Perfect weld The diameter size of the rod also .. makes a big difference... For a good thin weld.
I always like a try to comment before I watch cuz I know this is your job man! Keep grinding! Love the work boys!
Possibly the most satisfying exhaust build montage on youtube
Hey Rob, ever thought of doing an acoustic analysis on the exhaust sound and looking at the peaks of loudness and frequency to see the difference between the unmuffled and muffled sound. You could even go through the effort to have additional tuning outlets with a pressure sensor each to see how the pressure curves look like and how well the relate to each other in timing. Just some thoughts to fine-tuning. Great work that you guys are doing.
I’m a Michigan born (Saginaw) and Austin Texas raised (teens to now 40 🤣), rotary at 🖤. You my boy blue 👊🏼🍻🦾💯
damn Isaiah is hell of good at what he does. "Heart surgeon, numba 1, steady hand"
Wish I had that skill bro you make it look so easy
Rob be looking like he's on a fresh cycle right now, man's getting jacked!
yes, as a tig pipe welder, fitup is key for a good weld in stainless. it is almost as important as having the metal clean.
so for the people who want to know, clean the pipe more than you have cleaned anything before, then make shure you have a near perfect fitup, no sideways deviations and no gap, block off both sides of the pipe and purge it with argon or any other innert gas (make shure that the inlet tube and the exhaust hole in the caps are of a similar size or slightly smaller hole than tube and if there are more than one weld, make shure to tape up the other joints that you aren't welding to prevent oxygen from leaking into the pipe) and finally, take some time on scrap pieces to find the perfect settings for you to weld.
I'm surprised you didn't use Vibrant resonators and mufflers! I have their stuff on my street/strip Civic and that shit is awesome. Super quiet, then just perfect under boost.
I used Vibrant resonators and mufflers on my FB. Sounded clean AF.
You need a shirt with Isaiah holding the tig tool that says "safety squints engaged". I'd buy it for sure.
Isaiah is a freaking wizard will his construction work!
Isaiah is so good at welding he does it with his eyes closed 😂
Love ur channel!
you also have a section of pipe between two hard mounted locations, I would think you'd need another expansion joint somewhere in the middle of that nice long section that Isaiah fabbed up. I'd imagine it'd expand when hot and then crack a weld.
You mean from the resonator to the muffler? There are some significant bends in between.
In long pipelines they actually use bends to give headroom for expansion. often like this: ____|¯|____
That section of exhaust if it was straight should have a maximum of 1/2" (13mm) of expansion, probably more like 1/3" (8mm), since most heat is already lost in the front.
Although i would agree its better safe than sorry. They could just expand the bolt holes of the resonator mount, so it can slide back and forth a bit.
I like the sound but I would add a resonate tip to the end of the tailpipe
What's funny. Was when I was younger I used to have to take a double take when I saw an rx7 because I always mistaken it for a c5 corvette
