    Just a tip for anyone who sees this, but a much easier way to take the taillight is to take a pair of pliers and pinch the white plastic clip holding the taillight in from the top and bottom. It should come right off as you give a little pull to the taillight, but make sure you unscrew the nuts first of course. It’s better to have someone pinch it for you as you gently pull the light

  • @mickeyoakley4012

    If you go to harbor freight and get a few 2-3 inch “dent removal suction cups” you can probably use them to pull the taillight out without stress

    Maybe down the line if Yasiel can do a solid light instead of blinking; call me paranoid. Just got the Rally Armor flaps on, 6XTH catch can will be next, then maybe prop rods. Most important right now are rubberized official floor mats, and winter tires on plain steel rims. Gotta prioritize.
    MPG update. My wife took the Elantra to BJ's, and did me a favor by filling it with their 91 with her discount. This was not a good thing. I don't know the methanol percentage in their gas, but since it's less energy dense than straight gas, I couldn't exceed 26.2 MPG. Once I burned through that tank and refilled with Shell 93, MPG went right back up to 36+. Lesson learned!

    • @ENtense
      @ENtense  Před 2 lety +2

      I’ll make mention to him about a solid light, but I can’t imagine it would be that hard for him to do if you requested it. I also have some floor mats coming this week, granted they were free but hey I’ll take it 😂.

    Just to set the record straight as I put in the time researching it a few years back. Federally it is technically illegal in all states to have a flashing red light on anything but a emergency or police vehicle. There may also be more prohibitive local and state laws on the books that depending on local may be aggressively enforced or not. There is one major loophole and that's how the dealers can offer this type of device and install it in a lot of states. The devices they install are offered by a specific company and are not available to the average person. How they skate the laws is the they do not flash (turn on and off) but in actuality pulsate in a high low state never turning on and off but it creates a flashing effect. Not unlike the flashing effect you notice when videoing a LED light or a monitor. Just at a much slower state that the pulsation is visible to the human eye. The dealers push it because it has a huge markup and is good for their margins. Even then I can only imagine having to explain it and how it works if getting pulled over for it. IMO it's a silly and outdated law as it was put into place before we had the tech that we do now to control the flashing of any lights cheap and easily. Really doesn't present itself as impersonation of any type of emergency or police vehicle since it doesn't repeat the flashing over and over. In edition every study that has been done clearly shows how brake lights of this type can reduce accidents. In Europe most of the major auto manufacturers are starting to deploy something like this. I like Ford Europe's approach on some of their vehicles the 3rd brake light works as it does here but under certain perimeters one being a panic stop the G meter will trigger a series of flashes to indicate rapid deceleration and warn other drivers. No reason we can implement something like that here 90% of what's required is already in most vehicles yet the government forces the automakers to put TPMS in all vehicles! this would most likely prevent more accidents than under inflated tires! We are way behind in respect to headlights and tail lights compared to the Europeans. Don't even get me started on the whole amber and red marker requirements here in the states. All that said I have installed on in both my Elantra N and a similar setup in my Focus RS just added a switch inline so I can disable it for mandatory state inspection and when conditions require me to so I won't get hassled.

      Many dealerships try to upsell to get you to install a flashing 3rd brake light, and overall it’s for safety for people to see that you’re braking and help get their attention. I did see mixed opinions online, but it really shouldn’t be an issue.

Please book your next holiday to Sydney so we can go and play on tracks. I sold my Audi S5 but my partner has2020 BMW 135 X drive M Sports which has 302 HP so
    it will be a good car to play with Hyundai N. Don't even book accommodation cause you will get a 5 star treat at my place for no charge - we are just a family of 3. I will give you my number if you are ok so I can call and discuss a few things about the car. Put it this way we can be good friends and I'm so happy meeting you online and learning good stuff about the N. As for this video I honestly think there is no need for any modification unless you go to tracks frequently. I tested it to my limit and as it is - it has too much power. With ESC it wheel hops when you go too hard and without ESC it spins and is a bit dangerous for normal roads so any modification would only be good for tracks.

      I’ll try to get something like that done, with how little highway driving I do it’s tough sometimes.

    Hay we have the same car intense blue DCT I love my car and exhaust I have a question do you know how to with in eco mode with loud exhaust or do you know what fuse to move to leave it in loud mode

    • @ENtense
      @ENtense  Před 2 lety

      I don’t think it’s possible to adjust the exhaust in any mode except for N mode. Each mode will sound a bit different, but I am unaware of any fuse to pull to keep it loud.

    Anyone buying the light from the email below, make sure you ask him to provide the nut/washer that is needed for the ground wire. My light came with 1 clamp & no nut/washer. Made my installation that much harder …

    Why does it flash like that? Is it meant to do that?

    • @ENtense
      @ENtense  Před 2 lety

      It is meant to do that. There will probably be different opinions on why. You could say to grab the drivers attention behind you when braking, or you could say it’s a “style” thing.

    I dont get the silly triangle reflectors design fad everyone is using. In most cars it does not fit the design aesthetic. The Elantra being such a car, it looks tacked on as if to say "me too". Those crimp connectors are terrible in the long run. I'd recommend not using them. They are not waterproof and work thier was loose over time giving you an intermittent connection and allowing corrosion to get into the wire. I like your direct approach to videos though, I watch but xdont even own that year Elantra. Lol

    The fact that almost every single car on the road has an led third brake no matter it’s age, but a brand new 2022 doesn’t is so beyond me, who let that slide. Halogen brakes lights and turn signal is also really a big let down.

      Not where those wires are actually. Unless you cut the harness behind the trunk panel, which might not be safe to do.

    • @MrDimond34
      @MrDimond34 Před 2 lety

      @@ENtense He's right, you really could. I just did this install and I pulled the light just to run the wire easier, but if you look at the red wire it does go straight into the wire harness. You could tap it just inside the cover that you pop off.
