  • One of the most interesting and impressive motorcycles we've tested in the recent past is the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa. A motorcycle that hit the news headlines for being less powerful and for a generation change, mildly updated at best! PowerDrift Guru Kartikeya Singhee and editor Shumi sat down to discuss what's changed on the generation 3 Busa and what it means to you as a rider. Watch this video and let us know what you think!

The foreign press has completely different outlook on Hayabusa(calling it as fat sports bike &etc....), but this beauty has a different image in india. When it was launched, most automotive youtubers talked about power & torque, but Hayabusa isn't about power figures. It's one of the few remaining "enthusiast-centric" which gives you happiness when you ride it.

those idiot foreign press are always baised towards their unreliable European sports bikes and they any day will always say good things about them and not about the japanese motorcycles and the fact is that the European manufacturers like ducati aprilia ktm and bmw were the one who brought in the idea that electronics can exist in the bikes what they did not see that along with that their bikes also need to be as reliable as an japanese sports bikes and that Is where anyday I would recommend anyone buying a sports bike to go in with the japanese brands even though they offer less bells and whistles..

I'm 6'3 245 and have both 1st and 2nd gen, buying a 2023 3rd gen since they will be offering new colors. I have a few other bikes and have done the same mods on all. Risers, Corbin seat and rearset pegs. The seat alone changes the motorcycle. Some minor performance mods without cracking the engine open and after you get off the bike the kanji will be the only thing that will remind you it's a Busa. These mods will turn it into a comfortable long cruising lightning bolt. I have two Harley's that I custom built and they sit while both my Busa's have over 50k on them. Harley's are money pits that force you to carry an extensive tool kit for every ride.

I wish they put an aerokit in the brake system, to keep brake performance at peak level at all times. That would be awesome!

That everyone, is how you agree to disagree like a gentleman. (Referring to the electronics part)
Also I have a pretty dumb question, which I believe, a lot of us already know, but I would love it if shumi or Kartikeya could answer it. Is it really a good idea to take any busa for touring? I mean with such an aggressive riding stance, wouldn't it kill your back?

    • @SirKart
      @SirKart Před 2 lety +2

Hey Diptarika, ride down to Chennai with friends - Shumi in the lead. First the stance is not as aggresive as a proper sports bike. It's eaaier. Yes there is some strain on your neck because of the chin-up posture.. but you quickly get used to that.
Second - Once you are travelling at highway speeds you actually won't feel the load on your arms as the wind pushes you up.
Third - actual wind protection is very good so you don't get ruffled. It's Avery serene experience. The engine is absolutely stress free in the 110-130 range - think electric.
Fourth - the suspension - it's so comfy.. you feel like you are gliding.
Bad roads, like really bad roads - diversions and stuff.. just drop the pace to make sure there aren't any ditches.. that's about it.. rest it soaks up.
      Hope that helps!
      Take care!

@@SirKart thanks a ton for the reply; rather such a well detailed reply. I am starting my biking journey with 310gs. I had some reservations about the seating posture of the busa. But thanks to this reply. I know what my first litre class bike is going to be. ❤️

    Which is better
    Africa twin vs Gold wing
    vs Hayabusa
    ?
