  • Bad Batch Episode 7 and 8 form a two-parter political conspiracy that calls back to films like All the President's Men and Thre Days of the Condor. This also shows the galaxy at a crucial time, when the final remnants of the Clone wars gave way to the Imperial stormtrooper.

      My knowledge of the Galactic Civil War era is limited, but I didn't think the Empire was xenophobic. I thought they only enslaved and/or killed races that were loyal to the republic, like the Wookies. In a galaxy where seeing a funky looking alien walk past you in the street is just normal, xenophobic policies would work against you. Common enemies can unite the unlikeliest of people. Just look at World War 1 and 2. Britain and France had been enemies for centuries, but they came together to defeat Prussia, and later Germany. The US was supposedly drawing up plans for an invasion of the UK, then WW1 broke out and they became allies.
      In a galaxy with thousands of races that outnumber you tenfold, being a xenophobe isn't a good idea. Besides, the Sith never cared about race. Hell, Palpatine's master wasn't human, and Naboo wasn't xenophobic, so it wouldn't make sense for old Palpy to be racist. Racism is learned, not instinct.

    • @kevind3974
      @kevind3974 Před rokem +8

      knowing echo unlike rex he would not have retired. like hypothesized in this vid, rex probably retired once the clones were disbanded. rex kind of got what he wanted, not a full victory but enough were he knows his brothers are safe. if just mostly safe. echo wouldn't stop, as hes a fighter. plus as his time with the bad batch has showed us hes ancy when he dosnt have a goal. the rebellion would give him that in spades.
      plus as hes now probably rexs right hand man (which is ironic as hes missing his) he will be introduced to most if not all major early players. i would not be surprised if he even get in contact with people like luthin or bos who are vital to the formation of the rebellion at large but so deep down the rabbet hole only the best or the ones brought in even know about. while he would most defiantly work with ashoka as rex probably works with/for her
      the rebellion needs someone who can get shit done especially this early as rex will not be their forever as he probably has less then 5 years left before retiring. while people like andor (whos about 11-13 right now) or leiya (she like 3) are not even active in the true rebelion yet. plus ashoka thou active cant show herself to the outside world. so the vary op day one rebel isnt a cetch all, meaning someone needs to do the missions she cant do.

The original trilogy was using alot of inspirations from old samurai films to WWII, but it’s an interpretation of the Vietnam war, with the Empire representing the United States and Vietnam being the rebels. He has pulled the long game plan at least twice now and the last time he tries it, getting the whole rebellion to attack the 2nd Death Star (it is I who allowed the Rebels to know the location of the shield generator), that his overconfidence with these plans is his weakness, like Luke tells him. I wondered if the pressure seal on the snipers helmet implied some new form of control like drugs to replace the chip as a way of keeping a number of clones fanatically loyal, 'decommissioning' clones may imply further clones being scrubbed of their identity and continuing to be used for black ops missions in the Empire post retirement as frontline soldiers as everyone else thinks they have just been let go.

    I think the episodes of the Clone Wars thta focused on the clones were the best of the series and that continues with The Bad Batch. This series is really doing a great job of filling in the story that was woefully missing in the Prequels and the Sequels that make it all make sense.

    I feel like this isn't sad ,and needed to be ,with echo leaving ( even temporarily) and specifically leaving omega that goodbye of " keep practicing " I seriously feel this was done on purpose so that there is now an opening as the 5th member of the squad, and specifically one that can aid omega best in handling that blaster bow. Yes I'm thinking crosshair we already have part of his redemption arc with him starting to question the empire with the disappearance of Cody, and now with Palpatine practically giving the clones the boot almost everything lines up for this to happen I mean these are too many coincidence to be happening at once to no foreshadowing crosshair getting his full redemption arc ,and joining the team again soon If not the next episode it could just be my own wishful thinking , but I really want this to happen now.

    Echo should wind up being crucial to the formation of the rebellion and live through the whole saga. I read somewhere that they confirmed Wolf or one of the clones as the bearded rebel on Endor in ROTJ, so if Echo lives all the way to ROTJ it would be perfect. With all that he went through, he deserves to see the Empire fall. Sadly, I doubt that will happen because he has this tragic vibe that makes me think he won't be around much longer.

      Her intuition is on par with untrained and lightly trained force sensitives we have met, like Ezra at the start of Rebels, also Kaminoans don't create without a purpose, and we know Palps directs a lot of resources into force sensitive cloning, why else would Omega be so different from the other Fett clones

    Did anyone else pickup on how the clones were discussed in these episodes parallels discussion around former slaves during Reconstruction. In the same way slaves were seen as cattle to be bought and sold for decades before the Civil War, clones were considered only as significant as mechanical weapons; disposable. Now after the way they are seen (both legally and ethically) has changed so drastically, several questions arise: Do they get representation? Should they be retroactively paid (reparated) for their unpaid labor? How do you employ, house, feed, etc. this massive group who used to be property? Are they even people at all?

    Omega is absolutely Force-sensitive. There have been many Easter Eggs along the way:
    -Before rescuing Gungi - Onega could feel something wasn’t right….a disturbance in the Force.
    -When trying to retrieve some of Dooku’s fortune in the container about to fall, Omega was told to “just let it go” in the same way Obi Wan told Luke to “let go.” We see Onega close her eyes, sigh & center herself…the same as a Jedi would.
