There are actually mice studies that suggest there is a health benefit of doing this, never tested on humans though. So perhaps the reverse is true but I imagine you'd have to do it a lot to get any real benefits / negatives (if there are any in humans). Whatever the truth, this guy is definitely one of the coolest.

I'm a straight guy in my 30s that got into skin care recently to slow down aging. It's addictive honestly. I could see how an addictive/obsessive type with a lot of money would get into something like this. It's seeing how far you can go with it that's the thrill.

He talks about his body fat percentage being like 5% (pretty sure that's a lie, he's no Frank Zane) but the optimal body fat percentage is somewhere around 10-15% for the very reason of healthy thyroid function. It makes me question his whole regime.

But at the age of 45 as a male you would want to be around like 15-20 I’m pretty sure because as you age having more fat keeps you safe from disease because you have this buffer of energy that you didn’t need as a 15 or 20 year old

One of the big reasons we have the body temp we do is to make it slightly too warm for most fungi to grow in our bodies. “Running 3 degrees cooler” isn’t a flex.

If you had to make a meaningful comparison to detect a change caused by the diet, you would have to compare against people in the same age range, doing the same workouts, sleep and recovery, with a controlled and non controlled diet. Then compare those results over the course of a few years.
So yes, this number is completely made up and unquantifiable.
