A woman can feel a bit anxious (excited/nervous energy) but still interested before sex, and be able to do the deed if she wants. For men, that same feeling is common but that anxiety, even if it's just performance anxiety, can make them physically unable to get it up. Even if they really want to have sex and want to please their partner (which is the case 99.99% of the time) the anxiousness of WANTING to be good and be enough for their partner often times means you're not getting hard, because you're in your head with the nerves and worry. Especially with brand new partners who you aren't comfortable with or know well yet. In the face of anxiety/fear a man can force their body to do almost anything, you can run into a burning building or over the top of a trench with bullets flying overhead----but you can't FORCE yourself to get hard. Not if you're really under that wave of nerves. I am a man, and a father, have had multiple partners and in truth my problems with not being able to get it up were in my YOUTH far more than later in life when I had more experience. It was 100% anxiety fueled, had nothing to do with physical ability or an abnormality, or lack of desire/interest. My interest and desire and want to impress/satisfy a partner was such that I got anxiety (not unlike before you take the field in sports) to do well, which ultimately lead to not being able to get an erection. It's not something I struggle with anymore and haven't for years (been with the same partner a while now) but I know a lot of guys out there have the same issues I did, and it is a taboo subject especially if you're a young guy in your 20s. Honestly, it really makes me sad too when I hear women say "Oh you must be gay then" It's not like that at all. If a woman I began a relationship was anxious or not yet ready to begin a sexual relationship I wouldn't shame her and call her a lesbian. That's a really fucked up way of viewing relationships, sex, love and intimacy.

I’ve been with women where I didn’t finish, or I lost it, and if I’m being completely honest it was really because I was done with them, as harsh as that may be.
Maybe people force themselves to be with people they’re simply no longer sexually attracted to, I think that’s a common root of ED is maintaining a physical relationship with someone who you no longer care to be physical.

@Kren Wregget I guess everyone reacts differently or could be a different medication. I have been having a tough year and my doctor put me on Lexapro which I took years ago. The only side effect I have had is that I last longer in bed which is not much of an issue honestly. I can now extend my normal 2 minutes to around 5-7 which is better for everyone. Lol
