I discuss what a carbohydrate is, the three different classifications of carbohydrate (#sugar, #starch, and fibre/fiber), and how they differ from one another in chemical structure and properties. I cover the role of carbohydrates (aka #carbs) in the #diet and where you might find the different carbohydrates in the foods you eat. I also discuss the energy density for the three macronutrients (carbohydrates, lipids or fats, and protein).
