  • What is the Borg RPE scale and why is it useful? How does Borg RPE relate to Heart Rate, Maximum Heart Rate, %VO2max, Training Zones and the more recent iteration know as CR-10 Borg?
The Borg RPE scale helps you to target your training at the right intensity without use of expensive or invasive technology. It has been shown to be very closely correlated to a range of physiological indicators.

Thank you, Mike. Precise and informative. Hope you don't mind if i ask some questions. What is a TRIMP SCORE. What is the difference between cr10 borg and TRIMP score? Thanks again.

I'm hoping you can clarify something for me. When I apply the BorgRPE/Talk test I'm around levels 10-11, not a lot of exertion. However, according to the charts for my age my %HR Max is in the 70-90% (130-140BPM) range. I'm supposedly operating at 90% %HR Max but it doesn't feel like I'm doing anything strenuous. Am I just super fit lol or can you think of another explanation? TIA.
